Introducing Legit Flip! My new car flip series! In this video, I get to work on my first channel flip car, a 2001 54Oi with a V8 and manual transmission that I paid only $900 for! In this series, I'm focusing only on car repairs and detailing that add value to the car and in this video, I restore 3 specific areas of the car that increase its value by thousands and only cost around $40! I hope you all enjoy this new series. I've always wanted to have a car flip show like this and now that I'm full-time on KZfaq I can finally add it into the channel. Enjoy!

Great idea for a series. What would be super helpful would be a total number of workhours invested in the various tasks to go along with the costs incurred. So when you get to the end, we can get a sense of what kind of hourly 'salary' a person can earn in a flip.

Alex, the "beauty" cover is most important to dampen valve and injector "ticking". And maybe you didn't notice, but there are seals missing on the bottom L and R edges of the cover. Also, replace the oring in the power steering reservoir cap as that is the source of the oily deposits there.

Looking really good Alex. Couple of hints from my detailing cars (but they do take a little extra time): 1. Remove the wheels and place them on a five gallon bucket. Do the back side first - especially if they use stick-on balance weights. Then do the front. That way you can get all angles, and into the lug holes too. Easy to get evenly all the way around the rim. Also, if you are treating the tires, it also leaves no area untreated. Also, this also lets you clean the fender liner and suspension components. 2. Engine Bay - Use a plastic garden pressure sprayer, with hot water and degreaser. Option: Put a pin hole in the top of the pickup tube for more foaming action (but more pumping too). Cover electrical connectors with aluminum foil. Remove after all soap and pressure washing is done. 3. Put the front wheels up on a ramp (if you don't have a lift) to clean the underside of the engine, trans, etc. This also gives easier access to rocker panels too. 4. Use a large sponge and start spraying downward at the bottom of the trunk channels or door jambs. This comes in handy to limit side or over spray when spraying soap or pressure washing. 5. Option to clear coating headlight lenses: Use a Carnauba based wax on the clear plastic to absorb UV light. Delays yellowing (this tip was from our 3M rep). Keep up the great work.

Hey Alex, for the seats, clean them as good as you can with a good leather cleaner, then you can take a clean rag with a little bit of paint thinner or something that will pull a little bit of the dye out of the seats, and use that to spread the good color that is still in the leather around and fill in the color that's dirty and missing and cracked in the rest of the seats. I saw someone do it before on leather that was really cracked and beat up, and after spreading the good dye still in the leather around the rest of the seats and filling in the cracks and getting rid of the dirt, he followed it up with a leather conditioner. When the seats were all done, it was a night and day difference. The seats went from unusable to really decent. They weren't perfect, but it made a huge difference. It cost almost nothing to do, and you don't have to worry about matching the colors with different dye or anything, because you are using what is already soaked into the leather. This might also work for cleaning up some of the plastic in there that was dyed and isn't looking so good, but test it first in an area you can't really see 1st to know exactly how it's gonna react and look.

Thats actually no good idea, and there is a couple of reasons for that. First of all, leather is dyed in a system similar to painting a car. There is a primer, followed up with the actual dye followed by a topcoat. In this case, it looks like some sh*ty paint has simply been smothered over the actual dye of the seats. So first of all a cleaning with a leather cleaner and a brush would probably just remove most of the colour on top. Furthermore if you use thinner, you would destroy the dye beneath, because it acts as a solvent, and would ruin the topcoat, and probably mix the brown dye beneath with the tan above. The dye wouldn’t be able to resist future cleanings in this case. So to speak, this is a job for leather experts, where the old paint is stripped, the cracks and holes get filled up and the whole seats get redyed properly. I guess the guys from colourlock would be able to help out here. After all, no front dude… this is just my opinion on this topic.

Hey Alex, I love the idea of this new series you are doing! These BMWs are so much fun, I used to own a '95 E34 540i with a 6 speed. Since your car was so dirty, I'd definitely use some IronX and clay bar to decontaminate the paint before buffing. Soaking and agitating the wheels with IronX will also take care of the really stubborn dirt.

It's your property, and you selling them retail to a purchaser who knows he's buying from someone who doesn't have a dealer licence ( I presume a dealer licence specifies the safety level of the car being sold, and gives a warranty that you need a bond to be able to cover. Am I right in these basics ? )

Just discovered your channel and I love it. I’m 31 years old and i began flipping cars at age 14. I now have a full time career with no time to flip cars as much as I wish I could. (Occasionally flip some personal cars) I have a lot of down time at work and I absolutely love watching these videos. Almost nostalgic for me lol keep goin! I once eventually flipped a 95 Honda Civic into a $100k boat! Buying and trading my way up. Good luck 👍🏽

I like the new series. It amazes me that people will let such an expensive car get so run down. It is so satisfying to see you clean the thick build-up around the trunk and engine.

Liking the video, always enjoy a good detail video. I also like the numbers of the flip, interesting to see the actual cost of doing something like this. Started watching when we owned a C300 and did a lot of work myself due to your channel. Thanks

Love the video. From a detailers perspective on the headlights. You can usually get away with 1500/2000 grit. And then 3000 grit. And then bud and get a really solid result with minimal sanding marks.

I have the 1999 year of pretty much the same car for 3 years now. I've done pretty much the same repairs as you have. The paint well look amazing after you buff it out. I had the windows tinted as well and it completely changed the attitude of the car.

I’m a real Beemer guy but have respect for them. I do love the look of this V8 in the bay and to be mated with a manual must be amazing to drive. Love the new series. Have always wanted to try y hand at flipping but have too much OCD to just stop and say “good enough”. Thanks again for a great vid and the new series!

For me a clean engine bay does the trick. The appearance speaks to me of proud ownership keeping the heart of the car in great shape. Loved the video, admire your workmanship and presentation. Merry Christmas and Covid-less New Year.
