This is my second attempt at trying to remove Arctic Fox Transylvania black hair dye without bleach!!! Last episode I used Vitamin C and clarifying shampoo which faded the back hair dye to a dark shade of blue, and after seeing all your comments recommending I try Color Oops, I decided to give it a go! What do you think of the results? I'm so excited to go back to red hair from here!!!

You used to be an extreme anti-cager for Archie, and now, I never see him flying about, out, or in your videos on you :(
@PrettyPastelPlease
@PrettyPastelPlease 2 жыл бұрын
i've had to respond to this hundreds of times so I might have to start putting a disclaimer in my videos. Archie is going through parrot puberty right now and is extremely aggressive. I'm covered in scars from where he's taken chunks out of my skin. Our vets advice was to limit our physical contact with him during this hormonal period so as not to trigger the aggression. Birds are complicated animals, and anyone that's owned a large parrot like Archie knows exactly what we're going through right now. He does come out of his cage, but we have to be on the other side of the room to him when he's out, or else he will lunge at us. He's almost taken out my eye a few times in the last few months. You literally have no idea how painful it is for me to own a pet I love so dearly, that acts so sweetly when he's inside his cage, to just suddenly turn on a dime and become murderous. He growls, screams, scratches, lunges, takes huge chunks out of my skin leaving me bleeding for hours. Being a parrot owner isn't all fun and games, and it really hurts my feelings when I read comments like this.

Here's the thing about all these "one application" products... You can't save it for later once it's mixed, but you can measure out portions of it and mix it in a separate container to use some and save the rest for later, particularly if you have very short or very thin hair, or are doing streaks or highlights, and don't need to use it all.

yes! ive done this exact thing before. i was trying to ombre my hair so i bought a brown for the top and blonde for the bottom. my hair is just past my shoulders but very thin so 1 bottle total would be plenty. i mixed up half of each color in separate bowls so i could save the other half for another time. otherwise i would of been throwing away a lot of unused product.

If you can buy Schwarzkopf in Australia, I HIGHLY recommend trying their colour remover too, if you can’t get your hands on colour oops. It has bond builder (like olaplex) built in and counteracts the low level developer (have to buy that separately) You can buy the colour remover in a pack of 5 - that’s what I got cuz I have a ton of hair… and I used 3 of the packs.

Make sure the smell is completely out of your hair before you dye it because it can go darker if you use developer. I’ve had my hair turn black from blonde so be careful and use clarifying shampoo or Malibu C clarifying crystals to get that product completely out of your hair before you dye it 💕

Not true, you just need to follow the instructions to the letter and do all of the shampooing/rinsing they tell you to. What it does is open the hair follicle and swell the dye molecules so they can slip out of the hair. The rinsing and washing ensures that they are all removed before you finish and the hair closes back up.

So here’s the thing! The hair that’s coming back to your natural red is the hair that hasn’t been lightened before. The bit of blue/green that’s left is left on the ends is the parts that were originally processed with the lightener, hence why it looks blond with certain angles. It looks amazing and you can DEFF see the healthy parts of your hair and the overly porous ends that have been overly processed. Looks amazing but I am excited to see what you do next☺️
@gracieshepardtothemax1743

Throwing this out there for someone who may not know. If a color says “semi permanent” technically yes, what is in the bottle is semi permanent. BUT if you have to pre lighten it (bleach) it makes it more “permanent”. The only way color can truly be semi permanent is if it’s on “virgin” hair. Bleach is opening the cuticle that an alkaline that is In permanent color would do. Allowing the other color to penetrate deeper but also be more vibrant. Trick with “color remover” (not bleach) is when rinsing use as hot of water as possible to handle and rinse until there is NO smell. Always to the test after with a color developer to make sure it has taken and won’t go back to the color you were trying to get rid of. Darn color molecules! Can be such a pain! Even after almost 26 years doing hair there are times it may not work (always depends on how many layers if color, how healthy or porous the hair is). 🇨🇦❤️

@@catfeatherss take a piece of hair that can be hidden (avoid hairline or fringe area). Then take developer (20vol preferably) and apply it straight from bottle to small piece of hair. If hair does NOT darken, you are good. If it goes back to the color it was prior to color remover being applied, you could try again, but most likely won’t work. That is when lightener would be used (safely and gently). Cheers!

If you color your hair the same day you remove the color oops your hair will redarken because the developer will enlarge the color molecules that are still left in your hair. I would highly recommend waiting two days and washing it twice each day and then doing it for you to get the shade that is on the box of hair dye. This is coming from a girl who has been on a similar journey to you and has used color oops many times. 💞💞💞

Myself and my daughter have used Arctic fox blue dye several times. My daughter kept hers blue for about a year. And with both of us all it took was a bleach wash (lightening powder, small amount of developer, mixed with shampoo) to get it out completely. And it was not damaging to the hair either. We may have just gotten lucky lol. But it worked. My hair went back to a very pale almost white blonde by doing this. No blue was left at all.

Yes! Same here! I’m a redhead as well and i HATED it when I was little. The only people who liked my hair were little old ladies. Now that I’m in my 30s I love my red hair and I finally grew it long. I went through a phase where I was dying and bleaching parts black parts platinum, but never my whole head. I’m so happy my red hair is still red now!

Hearing you say you were told rude things because of your hair made me think of my brother...He's a natural red head and him and my family always used to make fun of him (usually just me) for his hair. The reason I would do that is because I was so incredibly jealous of him. His hair was absolutely beautiful and I was so sad and angry that he was the one that had inherited that trait. He would also get told how beautiful his hair was and get all the attention from our relatives . It's crazy to me how someone could feel bad and ashamed of their hair color. I just wanted to let you know that you are absolutely stunning no matter what your hair color is

It’s so much because she’s buying a product that’s not available here. There are pretty much the same type of products you can buy here, however. The difference is. It’s not the brand everyone was telling her to use. It’s brands that are available here in Australia. 🤷‍♀️

Your relationship with Archie is absolutely precious. Because of your videos I’ve really been wanting a bird, but because of my mental health problems I don’t think I would be a good enough birb mom. I did the same thing last year, I was able to dye mine back to my natural color, which is similar to yours. I used ion color brilliance and a 20 volume developer to really get it in there. (You could probably make due with 10volume cause your hair is fairly light) i dod 75% 8RC, 20% 8G and 5% 8N with the ion color brilliance permanent cream hair color the 8g will add some gold tones, and the 8N will cool down SOME of the coppery red so it’s not as vibrant and a little more natural. Can’t wait to see the wig haul!

This has honestly made me feel better about the fact my hair is a deep midnight blue right now--so thank you, Alex, for taking us along on this journey with you! (And paying the Australia tax, to boot.) My color was an actual oops due to the packaging being a lie. (I was shown a silvery indigo, which started on a light brown base according to the box; I started with a lighter, greyer-range ash blonde, and wound up with a very, very true blue with no warmth and no sign of the silvery undertone I was shown.) I had contented myself with letting it grow out (advantages of my hair being in a men's cut--woo!), but now.... I'm definitely going to embrace the blue a little longer, but I might just take another stab at silver sometime soon, haha.
