I am really surprised she knows about this movie, it was not a bad movie but it's not the most famous french movie of the last 20 years. I have no idea how you got fluent, I've been studying Chinese, Indonesian and Japanese for a while now and I can only understand about half of each. Kudos to you man!

Another great video, Ryan. I'm 40y old now, I learned some japanese YEARS ago, then life got complicated and I stopped. After like 10+y later I find I retained lots of it, but nowadays it's hard to pick that energy up and go back to learning languages. BTW, I'm born in 1984 in Portugal, so even English is not my main language. Anyways I've really enjoyed your videos over the past few years because I truly feel there's something special in expressing stuff in a particular language. Like, we had French in school and that's one particular dimension, then I heard Opera Music and now, Italian, even though since it's Latin-based, it's not too different from my native Portuguese or French, it's actually minutely and distinctly different in the details... All this to say, languages are just so cool and you are a big ambassador on showing this! It's particularly special to me, I have to say, when so many "americans" (USA citizens, there's more to the Americas than just the USA, c'mon) just can't even fathom the notion of humans not speaking English - which is "gross" (in a term they'd understand) considering the millennia of human history.
