Yeah, I played on my friends phone back when it was HUGE and it was lame, decided to start playing the other day and it’s way better, surprisingly ran into (socially distanced) ofc some Pokémon go players at a local (Pokémon) gym and we traded Pokémon. I thought no one played anymore but all the gyms near me are active asf

@@ricesaint Niantic has games. Ingress, PoGo, and Harry Potter. They all use the same basic engine and have similar mechani ideas. Nearly all of which were developed in Ingress. The idea of capturing and holding virtual property in a real environment started there. The portals in Ingress became the stops and gyms you see in PoGo, and consequently in Potter. The combat system in Potter is an elaborate form of the glyph system from Ingress. The capture mechanic in PoGo is actually a game called paper toss. PoGo is very different than ingress and only uses the locations and geotracking developed there. Unless it's changed you don't have to be 10 th level to suggest a place I'm still only 8 and I have several Ingress portals. 9 and above are for really dedicated players.

I used to walk around downtown Portland at night by myself. Before, after and during the riots playing Pokemon go. Sometimes I wondered when showing up at a lured stop with no one around if it was a set up to get mugged or kidnapped. Nothing bad ever happened tho and ironically my name in game is actually MUGR 😅

I started playing in early July 2020 to motivate myself to jog or walk every afternoon. Now, I'm standing proud as the fastest level 0-45 player in my local Pokémon Go community. Reach level 45 in Christmas Eve 2020. Thanks to December double XP ofc. And loss a lot weight in the process

i work the drive thru at culvers next to a very popular spot to play pokemon go in my city and its astonishing the amount of people i see playing, during events ill see 50+ cars with people playing while waiting for their food. I started playing again about 2 months ago and the new events are amazing, i didnt realize that the game is to gen 5 now its crazy fun now.

My brother and I started playing PoGo back when it got released for a few months and then dropped it cause there wasn't much to do anymore. Just like 2 weeks ago we downloaded it again and now our whole family is playing it too when they saw us play it lol. Its definitely more fun now with the events, boss raids and more generations of pokemon.

Literally walked to my nearest Gym at 8pm for a raid with two of my buddies. A white low rider car pulled up next to us (mind you, this gym is located at a church) and asked us if we wanted to buy weed. We showed him our phones, he laughed, and drove off to sit at the stop sign nearby. Needless to say, if it happens in front of a church, it'll happen anywhere. Stay safe, guys.
