I was just there this past mondat to Saturday in the west wing, the actual cheapest rooms within mgm grand. It was nice as an solo traveler but the final night I got zero room service. I never trashed the room I never did anything bad to housekeeping they just were super busy and skipped my room that day. They were cleaning my neighbors rooms when I left to vet a lyft to Area 15 for the day. Got back and only had an single clean towel, I used two per shower one as an mat to prevent slipping and one to dry off. Got two days of resort fee knocked off for it and someone brought towels, but I wasn't able to shower before seeing piff the magic dragon with friends staying else where. Grand is still cool but a looooooot of walking. Thousand+ steps to monorail minimum I had to get needles, band aids rubbing alcohol for blisters at target. 😨

The West Wing rooms are best left not even considered - they are brutally small and far away. Fun MGM Grand tip, if you want a quicker, less crowded way to the strip, get off on the 4th floor (all elevator banks stop there) and take the LONG hallway that goes toward the strip and includes the West Wing section of the hotel. At the end of the West Wing you take another set of elevators down to the lobby - this takes you right out of the hotel behind the Coke store and by the Mansion. If you're in a hurry this can save the long walk through the casino.

I was staying at the Excalibur, but went to MGM everyday to get the monorail. In the end I watched the shows, ate, played, bought stuff and enjoyed this hotel much more than my own. The staff was so, so helpful, I even wrote to them when I got back home, because I was amazed at how well treated we were at the concierge and other places in there. Thanks once again, MGM!

Ruby, I loved this video not only for the content, but for the timing! My mom and I came out for a stay at the Grand the day after you posted this, so I sent it to her to check out. She got more excited about our stay, especially since you were in a room almost exactly like ours (except we had two beds, of course. She’d never been here before, but we ate at both the cafe, and Crush on your recommendation. Totally awesome. Thanks for this one!!

Listen up all. Ruby is not kidding about the west tower. It was a old hotel building that the mgm was built around. Just say no to the west wing rooms. You’re welcome.

Ruby you hit the nail on the head at the end. Bring your walking shoes, the place is massive. The pool complex is awesome. Been a minute since I have stayed, good to see the updates. Hakkasan is still one of the best clubs in Vegas. Mr. Ruby, your intros and edits keep getting better and better. Thanks guys, great vlog.

MGM Grand was the very first hotel I stayed at in Vegas and it was my regular for the longest time. I think it epitomizes Las Vegas, it's GRAND, nightclub, high end eateries as well as fast food, great pool area... just big big big. I stayed there right when they were phasing out the Wizard of Oz theme, they had the amusement part out back where the towers are now, the lion exhibit. FYI - Many animal lovers hated the lion exhibit, but I didn't realize until it closed down that there is a lion sanctuary near by where the lions lived. They did not live in the exhibit or on the property. The exhibit at MGM actually funded the sanctuary for many years, and when it closed they had to find funding elsewhere. So it was actually helping the lions when they did have the exhibit. Another great video Ruby!!

MGM grand is one of my favorite hotel in Vegas. It is like a city under one roof and has everything you ever need. We always stay in the grand tower and the rooms and hotel is alway very clean. The pool is fantastic. There is also a monorail in the casino which is really convenient and handy.

Last time we stayed at MGM was close to 30 years ago, when it was still Wizard of Oz themed. We go to Vegas quite a bit, and that's been the only casino floor where we consistently got turned around and had a helluva time finding the elevators to our room...lol. I'm sure the floor layout has changed a hundred times since then!

i stayed in the MGM over the summer and had such a great experience! literally the only thing i didn’t like about it is how south strip it is and i thought the pool was mid. otherwise the rooms are indeed huge and in my opinion the hotel is easy to navigate. it doesn’t feel that big to me. i think the MGM is a fantastic option if you’re not someone who minds walking a lot

MGM is a great property but it can be overwhelming for some. The ability to use the monorail to get around the strip is underrated. the only drawback I've experienced is that the service sometimes is left to be desired for a longer stay. I had a broken bed frame and dirty floors and shower in my room when I checked in and room service was uncooperative and considering I was gold Mlife I thought this was unacceptable service. Management was quick to comp my resort fees and other incidentals and the room was quickly whipped back into shape. If I can't find a better deal at another facility,the MGM is my personal go to hotel on the strip. Great video BTW.

Interesting comparison with the Venetian. I stayed at the MGM over 30 years ago and I remember how huge it felt then. Stayed at the Venetian in Aug '22 and couldn't believe it was the largest hotel. The layout keeps it from being overwhelming.

I love the MGM Grand it’s our favorite Hotel that we’ve stayed in on the strip, we have been to Las Vegas 5 times and stayed at New York, New York once, Treasure Island twice & the MGM Grand twice and the MGM feels like home every time we’ve stayed there

I have a soft spot for the MGM Grand as this was my first strip LV hotel stay. I realize now that the west wing tower is where we were and I hated the thin walls and how noisy the room and hall was consistently day and night. I haven't stayed there since, though I realize I could book a better quality room. I do love that pool complex though.

This is awesome Ruby, i been vegas twice and everytime i went i always made sure MGM was on my list, its y favorite casino there, i agree with you that the place is huge and always busy, i noticed the same thing too very spacious, i love the gold lion on the outdoors and the indoor reception side, alot of hard work and effort has gone into this place, you made this video very well, thanks for sharing, looking amazing by the way, like a true hollywood princess :)

Thank you Ruby! I just left Vegas last weekend staying at The Signature at MGM Grand. Spent a LOT of time in the MGM Grand property since it is connected to The Signature. I have always been a BIG fan of MGM Grand over the years. If someone does have issues with walking, they should not stay there! It's HUGE, especially if you are walking from the pool through the District. The Grand truly is Grand. CAB😍

I had a great stay at the MGM back in 2011, it felt like a top hotel however when I've gone back since it's been notably tired and beginning to feel a bit dated. Interesting to hear you say it's crowded especially given how quiet Vegas has been with the pandemic though.

I like MGM Grand, it has an “Old School” feel to it,, (and smell), at least my last trip there…. It’s a great place to hang out, play games, eat, and catch the mono rail. But it is advisable wear some comfortable shoes. There is a lot of walking at the hotel. Another plus is, it’s location. Close to New York New York, and Excaliber, with the tram to Mandalay, and Luxor. Not too steep prices, good Eating, and good bars. In my opinion, it compares well with Harrah’s.

I took a west wing room once and it was all the way to the end. Like baronpen said, nice room but so far from everything. I like MGM but when I stay there again I'm getting a Staywell room(if they stay have them). The tower is right there coming in from the parking lot plus your own check in desk. Once again, Ruby, a fun vid. Good job.

There is a free fridge hack, I've done it many times. Just call down and tell them you need a fridge for medication purposes.. they will bring one up free of cost.

Emeril's is one of my favorite restaurants. Nice to see the MGM complex again as I haven't been there since 1997 when you could see the lion cubs. Time to return and stay rather than do just a pass through.

There's a guy on tiktok who works as a bartender at the MGM pool. He's alright but it's kind of shady how he basically sees nothing wrong with overcharging for drinks. He went out to Illinois and tried asking bartenders to make him cocktails and they laughed him out of the bar and he cried about how mean they were. I have no idea why people patronize bars like that in Vegas that price gouge.

Great review. For some reason I just don't like the MGM Grand. I think your comment about the size of it is spot on. But for such a big casino it always feels crowded and I always feel like the flow of people through the main casino is always a bit too chaotic.

I stayed there for Thanksgiving week. I loved it. Definitely big and a good amount of walking. But a great place to stay for the value. And it is definitely good for food. We went to Morimoto's the 1st night and it was awesome. And the location is good i think too. Its basically the start of the south end of the strip and alot of good things near by. And then you have New York New York and Park MGM across the street. And easy to go up the strip using the tram.

As always I enjoyed your video. I stayed at mgm twice. 2017 at the signature in a penthouse suit and 2022 two bedroom junior suite. Both very comfortable. I agree about how much walking it takes to get from your room just to the strip entrance! Whew 😅

I stayed at the mgm grand for one night in August 2021, it was an excellent stay! The room was sooo big and very clean. And using the app for your keycard? It’s amazing! I didn’t have to use the check-in desk for any of it.

My favourite restaurant is Craftsteak there. The service, the food and the cocktails are top notch. I found MGM just too busy. I loved Brad Garrett Comedy Club and Brad was performing when we were there. I won’t stay there again.

I miss the lions. It was such a special place with the lion exhibit on the casino floor with feedings twice a day. Always a huge crowd to watch them. Nothing special or unique about MGM now.

Thank you for the video. Thank you for the note at the end of the video explaining how large the MGM Grand is and how it would be a challenge for those who have a difficult time walking around. I have been to Vegas once. I stayed with a group at Excalibur and I was amazed at the sheer size of Excalibur and how far it was to walk from our room to the gaming floor or even the breakfast bar. I am thinking of going back, but I am interested in a hotel with less size, walking distance and an in room Jacuzzi. So, for me MGM is too large.

Stayed at the Jet Luxury last summer and while the room was amazing, I loved the whirlpool tub, walking from the room to the MGM casino FELT FOREVER!!! Next vacation I’m looking forward to staying near Fremont Street! I want all the action 😂

When my sister and I stayed there we thought the room decor was old looking. Very 90s and it wasnt very clean. The casino is nice and also alot of entertainment.

I had a base level room through the m Life rewards except mine was on the casino floor and it had a window that looked into a courtyard that was used for storage. This room is heaven in comparison.

I stayed here last summer and loved the pools. But everything is such a far walk. Like you mentioned, not recommended for those with mobility issues, my friend was miserable. We were in town for some concerts and were exhausted from all the walking. They have a ton of food options but not a lot of late night options. Most nights only the pizza place was open.

What I find funny is that the West Tower faces the Strip, so that would be more optimal for tourists looking for a view. It IS a bit of a hike to the food court and Restaurant Row, though; I've heard guests jokingly it would be easier to catch an Uber or Lyft from the Mansions to the main entrance than walk.

I believe MGM is the biggest property on the strip. I enjoyed my stay there. They also have a Starbucks, which is a plus for me 😁 The lazy river is really fun. To purchase an innertube is expensive, but it’s worth it.

I think every major casino/hotel on the strip has at least 1 Starbucks inside or attached on the outside of the hotel. The line-ups in the mornings are usually hell at all of them as well.

Nice review. My room was clean and decent but a bit worn. Tub shower combo was straight out of a Holiday Inn, a letdown. Great check in experience and a nice MGM employee helped us do mobile check in and we skipped the line plus we were checked in and given a room at 10:30am in the morning for free which was really, really nice. Check out went really well and despite the line, we quickly got a taxi. MGM just seems very well staffed and very well run, I think it’s because it’s their flagship hotel, and they do a great job there. Their service was so good that made up for the average room. Then again the room is just a place to sleep, most of us are out having fun on the town. I have dealt with understaffed hotels and long lines at other major properties on the strip. It’s no fun.So, I would definitely come back to MGM Grand.

I enjoyed my stay at the MGM from 2/3 to 2/6. I had a stay well room that faced the South strip. I like it better than the Mirage.

I’ve stayed at the MGM Grand twice in the last 5 years and didn’t even do a thing you did while staying! It’s truly a huge property and I could stay here again and have a good time and never leave the property
