What do you guys think of the Mirage? Would you stay here?

100% accurate. This is our go to hotel. The price is right,location is perfect,the lobby is amazing and the casino is great too. The rooms do need updating and it's smaller than say The Venetian but I too have a soft spot for The Mirage. This review was spot on. 👌

You really can't go wrong with The Mirage. My only gripe is that their basic rooms are very small (394 Sq. Ft). Their suites are amazing though, and I hear great things about the lanai's and villas as well. Also, Mirage has the best hotel smell. Like a sweet coconut fragrance!

I have a bit of a soft spot for Mirage myself. It was probably the first hotel in Vegas where I walked in and just said: "Wow!" -this was in the prehistoric days of the early 90's :) before everybody went bigger and techy. I always love the tropical paradise of the lobby and the giant fish tank behind check-in. For the price, a mid-Strip room, even worn out and firehose shower included, I think you get a decent value. I'd like to see them renovate and freshen up the rooms, too. Another great review and beautifully shot as usual!

Thanks for the great review! I love the Mirage and stayed there on one of my many visits to Las Vegas. The plumbing and rooms need work, but the pool and overall feel is wonderful. I usually stop by there to visit even if I am staying elsewhere. My partner and I may give it a shot when we travel in September. BTW, we appreciate your professional work and how much fun it is to watch your KZfaq work! I am almost 64, so I remember some of the old buffets. Vegas Vacation gives you a nice look at the "old days!"

I stayed at the mirage in April and yes you’re right about everything. However , the pool was TOO crowded. It would fill up as soon as it opened. To me that was a huge downside because that’s a huge part of the appeal of the mirage and I didn’t even get to enjoy it. Also our AC was VERY janky. There’s a lot of wear and tear in these rooms that they’re being too cheap to fix

Love the review! Great as always! Love the mirage too. Hope to see a review on a one of their suites next time! We usually skip the entry level room at a property in that price range. The Wynn/Venetian basic room is awesome. But Luxor or Mirage benefits a lot from one or two levels up upgrade.

Totally agree with your review of the Mirage. Watching your video, makes me think that I'm watching our most recent trip to MIRAGE...just last week! Also stayed at Mirage on 9th floor and also used our 2/1 My Vegas AND my hubby & I ordered the same thing! Italian Sandwich and Turkey CLub! Rooms do need renovation and furniture was outdated...as well as the bathroom had issues.

Mirage was my first Vegas hotel experience before (back when Bellagio water show was just a construction site!!) Completely agree with your review, the gorgeous SMELL of coconut and flowers, the glass dome entry and the massive aquarium feels like you are on vacation in the south seas love it!! Love your reviews, very much want to see a review of Mandalay Bay as i think we have the south seas vacation vibe in common lol!

I went to vegas for the first time in 2018 and stayed at the Mirage. It really is a great choice for first timers on a budget. You get a lot of value. It was a nice room, I had an amazing view of the strip and what stood out most was the lobby, the pool and the location. TAO is just right across the street. Definitely go for it!

Another great review Ruby! Honest and complete. Gotta believe that if Wynn was still running it, your issues with the room would be handled. BTW, you are just so darn cute!

The best thing about the Mirage is the pool and the location on the strip.

The Mirage was always one of my my "go to" resorts whenever I came out to Vegas. I have stayed their numerous times and I never had a "bad" stay! Although I haven't been back to Las Vegas since the pandemic, I have get informed about most of the news, developments and changes that have taken place there since my last visit. Unfortunately I learned that two of my favorite restaurants that were located within The Mirage have closed and, at least I've been told, that many of the services and amenities have either been scaled way back or have risen steeply in price (?) I would always want to chose The Mirage whenever I would go to Vegas and, if I ever do have a chance to return, despite the changes that I have heard about (?), I would want to try The Mirage at least one more time! Thanks for the wonderful video review of this wonderful resort.

Their Stay Well rooms and floor is really nice. In fact, all Stay Wells at any Vegas casino are nice. Like staying inside a spa with the fresh air, mood lighting, music, etc and barely much more than a standard room.

Haven't stayed at the Mirage but got to use the pool this summer- love it! Beautiful pool, great atmosphere, tasty drinks. My sister and I liked how comfortable the property was.

Showerhead was a problem when I went in August as well. Had the Stay Well double queen. Loved the room honestly and the pool is AMAZING and super easy to get center strip....It's my go to for sure. Definitely not the best strip property, but if you're on a budget it's the BEST for sure.

We love the Mirage and always stay there. I know people like to try different places but I feel if the qualities of the hotel suit your needs the perks of being a “regular” out way moving around. Not sure about the basic room because we get upgraded and comped and we aren’t high rollers. Our last stay at Mirage: 4 nights comped and upgraded to a tower suite. Resort fees comped and a room bill for 4 nights, zero. Oh and my girlfriend loves the smell. Best smelling casino on the strip.

Stayed at the Mirage before and the rooms look the same. The lobby and the volcano are both amazing and should be put on everyone's to do list. We are staying at the Venetian for Cowboy Week and we normally hit the Mirage on the way to Treasure Island and Gilley's. Missed last year so we are jacked!

I LOVE Mirage. Rooms need a bit of an update, but its fabulous especially for the price. Mirage is by far one of my favorite properties, ever. Pool area is amazing, service overall is great, and the breakfast at the pantry is the BEST.

I’ve stayed at several vegas casinos and alot about your review is spot on! The location is really good, the lobby makes you feel like you are truly on vacation the pool is great. Etc….. for sure on of my better vegas trips.

The Mirage is my go to hotel when I'm in Vegas. Like you said, the location is good even if you're driving. The freeway is right there. I always get a Staywell room. Good video.

I love the mirage. We recently stayed at Caesars and we didn’t like it much at all. Our first time in Vegas we stayed in the mirage and would definitely stay at the mirage any time in Vegas!!

We have stayed at the Mirage countless times and love everything about it. Love, love, love the pool. I’m going to miss it

Literally THE BEST BED ever. I loved my stay there in September. Rooms are definitely basic and dated. California Pizza Kitchen is a great quick pizza spot. I liked the casino quite a bit as well.

Always see good deals for TI, but never stayed. I was at The Venetian back in October, walked over to TI to look around, and was blown away with how cool/nice it was! Great video.

Great video as always. My only gripe is you didn't mention Sigfried and Roy's secret garden. I always go there when I'm in town.

Stayed twice . Love the location. Upgrade to the nicer floor . Memory foam mattress and rabbit air in room if you struggle with allergies like I do . The Pantry is my favorite breakfast spot , love being able to just head downstairs and grab breakfast , even if it’s early AM .

Great vid. Love the venerable Mirage. They have a breakfast lunch cafe place there that rocks. [I forget the name]. And I think what drives up the population at their pools may be the sky-tram that shuttles folks to and from Treasure Island right next door [cuz their pool is so small.] but it’s still is a large enough pool complex to handle it …with great waterfalls etc. - overall a really great place - it’s becoming an ‘older hotel’ now considering all the new ones… needs some renovation …but still super nice.

Due to Covid I had to move my stay in Vegas back a week and had to find somewhere else to stay one of the nights at the last minute. I had never stayed there before, though I used to frequent the buffet often. I felt the room was fine for that price even if the bathroom left a lot to be desired. I loved the lobby, had some fun in the casino, and had a great time at the pool. If we would have gotten into town earlier in the day we would have paid for a cabana.

You never forget your first😂🤣 for me it was the Flamingo. That pool is defiantly worth the price of staying there. Great vlog, Ruby 👍

The Mirage is great. Not really known for the rooms or food, but that killer pool! Reserve a prime pool chair if you can or get there really early when the hotel is crowded. We always get a room overlooking the volcano👍

Stayed 3 nights standard 2 queen room at the Mirage mid-week in August $86. per night tax and RF included. For an older property the Mirage is an awesome hotel casino. Great location, fantastic pool area, "chill" volcano show, budget friendly, excellent food options and bars. Nice size casino gambling area, rooms are decent. Mirage was my first Vegas hotel. I will book there just for the bed, but last time I went the place was falling into disrepair - not quite there yet, but unnecessary close. I remember the men's bathroom by Cravings had a lot of wear and tear and it was discouraging. There was a whole chunk of casino floor near Snacks that was sparse and sad looking. Super disappointed that Cravings Buffet probably won't return. Not sure what's in store for The Mirage, but I hope good things await. Thanks, Ruby fam!

The best hotel to remember the transition from old Vegas to new!

The Mirage was also my first Vegas casino I stayed at a couple decades ago. Back then the casino, the room, the buffet and the pool was top notch. Sorry to see it isn't the same.

I love the Mirage because of the location and the aroma. It has a great sports book and pool. I stayed at Aria last time, yes it was nicer but the pool sucked and it was a long walk to go anywhere…. Mirage rooms are a little bit old for sure but way better than some other cheaper Mlife rooms

Got married at Treasure Island (pre-TI), honeymooned at the Mirage, had an awesome suite. Have a major soft spot for this property, reminds me of better times. Not all older hotels do that.

We stayed at The Mirage when it first opened in 1989 and it was our go to hotel for almost 30 years until we had a bad experience that could not be made right. Like you thought, there is that nostalgic factor.

Yup, after our stay at the Mirage we called the hotel to order 4 pillows and had them delivered to our home

Hi Ruby! I agree with you on the rooms. I stayed there for the first time last year. The room they put us in was literally falling apart! The flooring and walls were sticking out and the floors were filthy. They moved us to another room which was better, but the floors needed to be vacuumed! Had a fab view of the volcano show! CAB😊

Your forgot to mention the tucked away hot tub! Loved that feature at the pool!😎 Also you can hear every noise in the hallway through the hotel room doors!

I also love the Mirage and as a sports guy their sportsbook is fantastic for seating and viewing so keep them in mind for that.

I usually stay at the Aria. I’m using come Comps to stay at The Mirage in November, it was my mothers favorite and it’s gone soon bc of Hard Rock. I’m excited:)

Never actually stayed at the Mirage, but i go there every time I'm in Vegas just to go to Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden. It is so peaceful there and I got to meet Siegfried a couple times he was so nice and loved doing magic for the kids, stopped everyone to chat and take pictures. He will be missed for sure.

I stayed at the Mirage on my very first trip to Vegas in 1995. Still stands up in my opinion, although I prefer the Bellagio, now. I saw Love there last month. Great show!

I agree I always stay there and the beds are awesome. I also agree about the bathroom 😂. The pool rocks and the size of the casino is perfect 😄

I stayed at the mirage last year for my first time in Vegas - it was great!!

Was there for Grand Opening 1989, have gone twice a year since, Mirage is our home base. It has a dreamy interior feel and excellent strip location. Can't believe this may be coming down in a few years.

There are no plug ins by the bed. I use a CPAP machine and had to have the cord stretched all the way to the table in the entrance. The secret garden is a hidden jet and worth checking out.

I was on a bus tour in LV last week where they broke the news that the Mirage has been sold to Hard Rock. A cab driver also confirmed this. I'm sad to hear that because I love the aesthetics...Great channel!

Better stay here soon. Mirage was sold to Hard Rock Hotels. We’ll see what Hard Rock has in mind as they renovate the property over the next couple years and replace the volcano with a giant guitar.

I love the mirage I was just there in May over Memorial Day weekend

We stayed last March but it was 40 degrees the whole time :( I was so sad to miss out on the pool. Overall we really enjoyed the mirage but pretty much felt the same as you. Beautiful lobby, great location, but definite wear on the room. Some outlets didn’t work. And the bath tub… not awesome.. but overall not a bad choice!

You are so informative about every little detail i love it! Was just wondering because you have stayed at so many hotels do they all have a huge over powering smell of fragrance as soon as you enter? I find it such a let down when all you want to do is enjoy everything without having to suffer the pain of a headache and sinus!!! Is there any on the main strip that you could recommend that dial down the smell?

Surprise you did a video on Mirage since its up for sale currently. However good informative video for newbies. It has gotten a bit run down but still clean enough with a great location. Look forward to your video after the property changes hands.

I stayed there two nights last week in one of those rooms. I can't say it was great but it was decent. I will say this about the mirage and the staff, especially the front desk, they are a lot more accommodating than Caesar's Palace.

Heck yeah, we love the Mirage, its been our go to for the past 3 trips. From the lobby, to the rooms, the dolphin experience & probably the best pool in vegas! We are so sad to hear its being demolished soon.

It is a great place to stay if you rent a car. You can avoid Las Vegas Blvd. and come in off the hwy. Plus, you can park in the free lot that they share with Treasure island.

My husband and I would always go to The Mirage! We went to "Snacks" before it was a Snacks. They used to sell good breakfast! We would also go to the Rum Bar.

I stayed at the end of October in a standard room. The plumbing in the walls howled like a banshee when you turned the shower on. My toilet didn't flush well either. The room was smaller than average with the snack tray on the top of the dresser and the refrigerator you can't use taking up way too much space. I set a bag down on top of that dresser and the snack tray scale was so sensitive I got charged for several snacks and bottled waters even though the bag didn't touch the snack tray. I had to wait 20 minutes at the checkout counter so they could confirm I didn't consume anything. I don't think the rooms at the Mirage stack up very well against the rooms at the Flamingo and Harrah's across the street which are also mid-strip. You can get larger newly renovated rooms with a modern bathroom at both properties for less than the old standard room at the Mirage. The Flamingo even gives you a refrigerator you can use in their newer rooms.

The pool is big and pretty but the water is ice cold and I was there in August. The chairs are not padded and it’s difficult to get a chair in the shade. No quick cheap eats and no empty fridge. One and done for me.

I too have a soft spot for the Mirage. The location is a big plus. I have rewards cards for both MGM/Mirage & Caesars, so it's a short walk to most of the casinos belonging to the Caesars group. It's not too far from the Fashion Show Mall also. The Mirage has a great Sportsbook, & nice poker room. The pool is awesome, & it's best to grab a lounge chair early & place a hat etc.. on it (BTW, even on the hottest days you can walk barefoot on the concrete). I don't spend much time in the room, so I have no opinion there.
