Dan, I'll be adopting the van lifestyle in 10 years from now. I know it comes with a lot of pros and cons and have to deal with the cons of van living. I will get a cargo Ford minivan which I will convert into my living space, but I'm not a handy guy with equipping a minivan with basic things I will need to live in a van. I will claim social security at 62. I'm 52.

You should get Cassie a small mat of artificial turf just big enough for her to lay on instead of concrete. Would work also when it's a rocky area. It would be easy to keep rolled up.

Enviable life Dan. I like many things about what I saw. Cassie is a character and so well behaved and joyful, your van looks classy with all the wood surfaces and metal, several bikes and also just your straight ahead and very real voiceover and demeanor - happy, casual, low pressure. Many vloggers seem to have a forced bubbly fun-ness to them and you are just it seems being yourself which is most refreshing. And I also dug your sound editing with sparse use of music. I like to hear the regular live audio. Takes me there. Strong work. Stay stoked. Subbed.

I lived in OB quite a few years before moving to Pacific Beach. I can’t believe they put a target in OB! That’s a shame. After living in SD for over 20 years I can say I don’t miss it but this video brings back good memories 😊

I spent a few weeks down there last Winter. I am fortunate to have some family in OB and really enjoyed my van life time there. Can't wait to go back! Love the Wednesday Farmer's Markets and whole vibe. Just be careful not to hit up too many bars lol. Van life and alcohol are not a good mix. A couple disadvantages for van lifers in that area. 1. Amost all Starbucks in San Diego have intentionally removed all plug outlets to remove the ability to plug in your laptop etc if you are a remote worker like me. 2. Planet Fitness is a little far from OB imo, so showers can be a hassle at the end of a long day with traffic. 3. I did notice the locals do not like Van Lifers in general, so stealth camping works best here. 4. California food and gas prices of course are an issue but that is all of California.

During the opening I was wondering if it was East Coast or West Coast & when I saw the parking I thought wow, that looks just like Robb Field! Lol, it IS Robb Field! I used to live in that area on Lotus Street & I love it there. Pretty sure there's no way I could ever afford to live there now, but man it was nice back in the day. It's awesome that you & Cassie can do that together.

Every year we vacation in La Jolla and are constantly hitting “Dog Beach” near OB. We also are going to that same Grocery Outlet 2-3 times during our trip, it’s a great place to stock up.

Love Cassie--bit worried about her feet pads in these heatwaves, her feet getting burned. If it's 77 degrees, the pavement is 125 degrees, and goes up as the air temp does. At 125 degrees, the pavement can cause skin damage in under a minute. Maybe you should get her some little socks, or booties. Or maybe a kindly sponsor could send you some to try for her.
