A song I wrote for my oldest child. Ashe has struggled with anxiety and depression and we've had our tough times but the love is always there and I wanted that to always be known. This is my dedication. Love you baby.
The piano part in the verses was originally inspired by Vancouver Sleep Clinic's 2014 release called "Aftermath." Lyrics and Music by Joe Orsak. Recording, production, backing vocals, and bass guitar by Greg Lentz.

Thank you so much for the listen and comment Juliet. I believe she liked the song. I let her listen to it alone and gave her a letter that explained the intent/meaning of each of the lyrics. When she came downstairs after listening, she was red eyed. So, I'm guessing it made her tear up. The mention of the sleep clinic was in reference to another musician named Tim Bettinson who has a musical project called Vancouver Sleep Clinic. He's from Australia and has managed to gain some main stream play in limited settings here in the USA. I LOVE his material. He has an earlier release(2014) song called "Aftermath" which is a short (2:10) song. The piano comes in around :32 into the song if you listen to it; which I recommend. Any way, that piano piece was the inspiration for this piano piece. As a side note, she did struggle with insomnia for many years as well. I would say she's gotten better but still deals with anxiety attacks. Again, thank you for listening.

@@JoeOrsak Hi Joe, I just listened to that piece "Winter." It is beautiful, thanks for suggesting it. I can see why he has so many subscribers. I think it is so important for people to express themselves and connect the way you and your daughter did with the song. Expressing our feelings and communicating with others is so important for our souls. That is what I am trying to do with my music and my books. Just express myself. Happy new year to you.
