Can someone explain the trap at 8:20? Is there a boat mechanic that kills you if you fall on gravel?

There are ceratin heights that make you take fall damage if you go down in a boat, some of those are 49 and 51 for some reason you cans search it up

So there's like some specific blocks that if the boat dropped that number of blocks, for some reason the boat will break, kill you of fall damage and turn into some sticks and planks. Some block numbers that will break the boat if it falls includes: 12, 13, 49, 51, build heights, and some others. I don't know why this is but it's a bug. I assume that the hunter died because they coincidentally fell either 49 or 51 blocks and broke their boat. I assume NotVixios placed the gravel there to alter the amount of blocks fallen in the boat so that it would be either 49 or 51 so that it would break, because you can see that he landed his boat in a different spot then the hunter did (this is just my guess)
