To get clay, you also can use mud and dripstone, its slow but its more automatic than finding clay

There aren't any dripstone caves in a mangrove swamp only world, unfortunately.

1. Mobs don't spawn on mud 2. Tropical fish are not good for food 3. Don't get lost 4. Don't get bored
