I climbed Mount Kinabalu in 1986 & 1987. I was 14 & 15 then, now I'm 50, I don't think I can do it again but anyway congratulations Alwin you did it. You are a nice person, God bless you.

Im johorean born living in Kota Kinabalu for 23years. Climbed and conquered Mt. Kinabalu on year 2k and got the special millennium certificate. It's a challenge and mind over body. When your body is damn tired and about to break but your mind say let's go. You can achieve great things!!

I'm sabahan and have not climb the mountain yet. One day for sure, but I'm still not fit enough 😭😭. Anyways, thank you for sharing your experiences, your thoughts, your feelings, your positivity, it's contagious and very endearing ❤️❤️ I loved every moment of the climb and especially the little squirrel that almost stowed away in your bag 🤣🤣 The view must've been unreal in person, the sunrise, the color of the sky, the clouds, breathtaking, that's exactly the reason sabah is called "The Land Below The Wind", the mountain is amongst the wind and we live below the clouds. It was definitely a fun and inspiring video, looking forward to more ✨✨

Thanks for giving me the motivation to go an climb the Mount Kinabalu before I leave Sabah for good this year. I will miss Sabah a lot and I want to see that same beautiful sunrise from the top of Malaysia.

I've reached the peak twice. First one when i was 16, second was at 26. I think im gonna go for a third climb when i'm 36 which is in 2 years to come. Third time's a charm i guess :)

I climbed Aki last year. I shed tears of happiness and said a prayer too when I reached Low's Peak at about 530am. I can feel your amazing satisfaction of reaching the Peak and thanks for proudly displaying the Malaysian flag.. You were so lucky to witness the gorgeous sunrise. It's a mesmerizing view indeed! I climbed in 2000, 23 years ago. I still remember how difficult it was to capture the low peak. At that time you have to prepare your own food at the laban rata. congratulations Alwin on making it so successful.

the memories of the 80's for me come back now...I was 21yrs old then...proud to reached to that Low's Peak the highest peak in South East Asia.. thanks for sharing...I also went to the Zugspitze in Germany's highest mountain but to reach it is only via Cable car... so mount Kinabalu still challenging...hehehe...

Im from KL, twice climbed mount kinabalu, second climbed i did via feratta. In 2007 when i was super fit, i reached the peak at 3.15am !!!!

11:39 I took picture at this same spot many many years ago too (also fed the squirrels at the earlier hut 😄). At that time they had only started a little bit of the foundation for the hotel. Can see the progress is slow because every piece of building materials was carried up by porters (as far as I know they don't use helicopter because the cost is too high). Thank you very much for the excellent video, I was an avid trekker and had been to Mt. Kinabalu 5 times, and your video brings back lots of fond memories. 👍 27:17 That is the South Peak where you were pointing.

Yeahhh finally u've made it to the top! 👏👏 i've climb twice and the feel is so amazing for every hike. U sud hike pinnacle also, located in Mulu National Park, Sarawak. The park is so amazing! Full of nature. I climbed mount Mulu and Pinnacle 😄

Hai Alwin how are you... I believe it was a new experiences for you climbing a mountain without snow on top. But to us it is an honour to climb Mt. Kinabalu our very sacred mountain where we believe that the soul of the dead to us it is their final resting place. I climb Mt. Kinabalu twice with my future wife soon we will be celebrating our 30th wedding annivesary and i told my wife that let climb Mt. Kinabalu to cemmorate our wedding annivesary by renewing our vow on top of our sacred mountain. Seeing you climb it make us young again and we hope to accomplish it. As for you congrats on the feat you make us proud of your achievement. God bless!

Well done Alvin.. looks easy but it is tough for first timer.. glad that you take the AMS pills.. I have climbed Mt Kinabalu more than 30 times.. I love every climbs.. the sunrise always mesmerized me everytime.. try climbing ApiApi Pinnacles at Mt Mulu in Sarawak. But it is quite expensive.. If you are still in Sabah.. try climbing Bukit Botak in Sepanggar KK.. if you are going to Semporna.. try climbing Bukit Tengkorak.
