One semester?? My course was a year long and they taught me only basics for the gel nails themselves (zero art, not even how to apply glitter) but went into depth on sanitation, and nail disorders and fungus. Been a fully qualified nail tech for 5 years and I still learn new stuff! I don't understand how one semester could possibly teach you what you need to know!

I appreciate this video so much as a licensed cosmetologist. So many people on KZfaq think you can buy pro products on Amazon and have a go at anything and it's so easy...it's really not. There's so much to it and having done a full cosmetology program I can tell you the nail training is some of the hardest and most intense material that's covered. You're awesome Cristine! Thank you!

The fact that nail techs in Ontario do not require a license of any kind is why I'm watching Cristine in the first place. I'd rather do it myself than have equipment that was used on 30 other people, then improperly (or not all) sanitized, and then used on me. It's like hepatitis roulette.
