I-Team: BBB warns customers about online Atlanta food personality

ATLANTA - The Better Business Bureau of Metro Atlanta issued a warning about doing business with a celebrity online chef based in Georgia.
According to the BBB, more than 70 customers of Darius Cooks complained they paid for cookbooks, cookware or tickets to his Dining with Darius cooking events but didn’t get the product.
And they say he ignored their requests for refunds.
"BBB advises consumers to use caution when doing business with DariusCooks, LLC," the nonprofit organization warned. The statement also pointed out that none of the complaints were ever answered.
"Respectfully, I don’t care," Williams told the FOX 5 I-Team when asked about the BBB warning.

I tried to warn my friends that I had a bad experience with his trash ass and they insisted on paying for one of his dining experiences. I told them to count me out and they decided to buy my ticket because I wouldn’t. The event was at the beginning of the year… ask me if it happened, or if they got their cash back. 😂 I don’t even feel bad for them because I tried to warn them.

His fan base is quite bizarre. They laugh at people complaining, too many to not see obvious red flags, consistently over years. There seems to be no shortage of people who want to fawn all over a narcissist.. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?! I’ve also been in restaurant biz & fine dining for 25+yrs.. $300 for “7 course meal” ? That’s more than $40 a course. While I haven’t had his food & he looks like a decent cook.. those are Michelin chef gourmet prices & he sets people in basic fold out chairs & tablecloth, no atmosphere. The whole thing is bizarre. He makes it look like he’s selling out 30x$289.. for 3 different nights in each location? In over 50 locations? Fishy as hell.

He ruined himself. Ego and just a nasty and evil disposition. He shot himself in his own foot. Why not send people what they order? Stop being nasty and disrespectful to your customers. But he’s actually been doing this from the beginning of his career. He started with Sunny on the food network and he tried to scam her as well. She had him fired from the show and he harassed her too. It’s a damn shame because he can really cook. He has great recipes and talent. It’s a damn shame.

My friend gifted one to me. It is nicely made in terms of hardcover quality etc but poor recipes. Most seem incomplete and it would be terrible for someone who isn’t a n experienced cook or baker. It’s like he threw ingredients on with little to no detail on prep or tools. I was so shocked as I didn’t expect that the content would be poorly executed. Now it all makes sense sheesh

He makes weird changes to make it seem like he invented the dishes he cooks and i very much doubt he makes these recipes on a regular basis which is why he doesnt know the measurements. The fact that he think Herbs de Provence = Italian seasoning tells u all u need to know about his knowledge of ingredients.

He is a good example of why it's very hard for small businesses to be trusted in the beginning. Even if you can't live up to what you have made someone believe you can, don't ignore and mock the people for being concerned about the money they have spent with you. Common curiosity and professionalism goes a very long way as well as righting your wrongs.

And you have it backwards. Popularity & money didn’t do this to him. People need to be taught better about narcissists. They play the part they want to play to get what they can get from their surroundings. They just have less of an interest in wearing their mask or trying so hard sometimes when they get successful enough. I’m just going to sit back and see how this plays out. There’s always going to be that one person you shouldn’t have messed with and it’s going to land him prison or to the grave. But there’s quite a robust community of commenters that I guess could be troll farms, but those are more expensive for say a Depp or Will Smith wallet.. they really seem to be flying monkeys/psycho fans. He lacks any qualities of good character, morals or decency. Why anyone continues to give him money or attention is beyond my comprehension. He’s eventually going to end up in a prison jumpsuit for fraud or worse. His nefarious activities, especially with his rabid, loony, drama queen fans he gets to help do his dirty work seem to have no limits. Eventually doxxing will lead to real world harm. He has a manipulative evil in him that makes it just a matter of time.

I have no idea what actually happened or took place. 2 sides to every story. I deal with anxiety and there is no way I would treat people that way. He is causing himself anxiety.

I remember ordering a cheap book, from an Atlanta online comedian and if not sure if he was in jail or what but I e-mailed and e-mailed when the book didn't come, got no response...I reached out to my bank and had the charge reversed. It's not hard to do right by people and I hope he's found guilty. Congrats to her for standing her ground and taking him to court!

There was an elderly African American woman named Miss Holla who passed earlier this month. She gained fame all over social media with her comedy. And when she died this month, some of her relatives came under opposition from many people all over. The attack on the family was due to them using a "Go Fund Me" account to raise money for Miss Holla's upcoming funeral, and their possible misuse of the money raised. The man here known as Chef Darius Cooks was one of the opposers to the family. Mr Cooks and Miss Holla's family went back and forth. After a relative of Miss Holla's said that Mr Cook himself was corrupted, that made me research this.

There was a lady who said that she went to one of his Darius Cooks Dinner events,and she said that when he showed up he had his drainage bags attached to him where he had had a tummy tuck.When I read that I thought that that was extremely disgusting, gross,atrocious,and very unsanitary. Everyone that I know that has had a tummy tuck,was advised by their doctor to stay at home in bed and to relax until their scars and everything had healed from the inside out.Some/most people don't care and or don't understand that when your body is cut on during surgery, the body starts to heal from the inside out. I read an article where here in my city of Dallas Darius Williams rented out a Air BnB,but the woman who owned the house that Darius rented out from,she didn't even know that he was having a dining event in her home.He was supposed to have 10 people or less in the home,he had more than 22 people in the home.Someone contacted police and the fire department. Something happened in the home,and the owner was contacted. She made him get out of that house immediately! He has had 2 restaurants be shut down in Atlanta,and 1 in Chicago.He also got in trouble for having a website in the state of Georgia for helping people straighten out their credit history.He isn't and was not licensed to do that in the state of Georgia.That house that you see him standing in the door of in this video,he has since sold that house and he said that he got $300,000 from it in home equity.

Darius is very talented, and his recipes are delicious… but his lack of ethics, integrity, or concern for his supporters and customers is a clear example of why some people should keep their passions as a hobby and not a business.
