Atlanta - To Georgians who don’t like automated cameras issuing speeding tickets - get used to them.
Despite calls for change, the school zone cameras aren’t going anywhere, at least until the 2025-26 school year.

Vote them all out! They should never have voted to allow the cameras in the first place. Many states and local governments have tried them in the past almost always a putrid Affair and their usually banned eventually.

I would fight every ticket in court! Clog that system so much they have to start dismissing them due to time constraints.....

Speaker of the House John Burns also managed to kill the 3% limit on Homestead Property assessment increases each year. How convenient that Atlanta and Fulton County get it but Cherokee County seized 20% plus increases every year

Why do state still give out ticket after school or weekend? Why don’t they put all the fine back into the school then if it wasn’t another scam from the state ?

Hmm, so the issue isn't speeding, it's the timely manner in which the ticket is given. So address the issue. If a ticket isn't mailed within 3 days it is dismissed.

I mean in all honesty should not be speeding in a zone however if you're gonna use cameras, use a front camera so you can catch the person's face

It's all about $$$$$$$$. I got a ticket doing 31 in a 25 on a Sunday in the middle of summer.

And was that school set a mile back from the road behind two or three fences like most of them in Georgia? Our prisons should be so secure from Escape

By law, those cameras can ONLY dish out tickets on weekdays and only when school is in session. You should’ve have immediately protested that bogus ticket. At the very least, send that to your state representative, and possibly sue the state and the company who works those cameras. That’s against the law. And no, I’m not kidding. DO IT!
