the only bad thing is the price. shanghai is the rich city of china but even then the overall cost of living is pretty low and people make a wage that reflects that. syd asking if the fish was 40 usd or rmb actually makes sense because you could get pretty good fish for 40 rmb. the average affluent tourist could probably afford it, but man that's like a fortune for the locals and it's pretty evil

It just so happens that Chinese netizens linked Pooh to Xi which resulted in a censorship of the memes, NOT Pooh itself. The west then took this story and spun it (as they always do) to make it seem more than it really is. There is no ban. Winnie the Pooh can still be viewed and talked about in China, and their merchandise still get sold as shown in the video. Regarding Christopher Robin, no, they did not ban the movie. They denied the movie’s official release into China, like they have been doing for many other foreign films due to their 34 foreign movie quota yearly rule or something. No reason was provided, so you CAN speculate that it was because of Pooh, but in the end nobody knows. The citizens can still view the movie through websites and whatnot.
