Having slept in a hammock as a bed replacement for a while. Try laying in a 45° angle ! This will make your back straight and doesnt raise your feet so high up :D Also ! Hammocks get COLD, even in 22° it can feel cold. There are isolating products called "under quilts" you can also try putting a blanket or sleeping matt under you.

As a hammock person (been sleeping in one pretty much every night for longer than I can remember), there's things about it that most novices don't get... like the angles at the ends, tention, and how you lay in it, that greatly affect ones comfort. You can lay flat, you can have wide shoulders that are not getting squeezed, etc. It's all in the setup. For a first-timer you did quite well.
@binaryglitch64
@binaryglitch64 6 ай бұрын
I have kids... that happened in a hammock. It didn't suck. So yeah, if you have a 2-person hammock (not to be confused with a double hammock) and really know what you're doing, children can even be made in a hammock, and the parents don't have to be uncomfortable in the process.

4:00 - as a hammock-user for years, I keep waiting for him to discover The Hammock Angle, where you lie, not longitudinally in line with the ropes, but about 30° off from the rope-line, where you can actually lie almost flat. It works for this side- and stomach-sleeper. And yeah, the material is stronger than it looks. For camping, though, I recommend looking into some extras, like a hammock quilt, bug netting, and a hammock tarp.

I use hammocks to sleep in when I go camping while the rest of my family sleeps in a trailer. It’s really fun to do that too and the reason why I’m saying this is you get to see the stars and the moon, hear the coyotes, frogs, crickets and birds. Even when you’re not sleeping in it, it’s nice to just lay down in one and just relax for a while. I personally love hammocks because they can also be used as a swing. So if you haven’t used a hammock, GET ONE! ITS WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY!

This hammock experience is cracking me up, that's how I felt the first time I borrowed my best friends extra on a camping trip. Even though I'm a 5'6 girl & he's like idk 6'2 & took it on multiple trips to camp trails out of state I was like I will break this its so thin 😂. His brother had one too & we could sit two people on them during or after breakfast on our camping trips. That's why I ended up getting my own. A hammock with a mosquito net & raintarp is far more comfortable than a tent on the ground & much easier to pack up.

15:50 i have something similar, a little more low profile, and lemme tell ya, i dont fly without this thing. You know how uncomfortable it is when you're racing through an airport to get to your plane only to sit there and have the plane not have air circulating for the first 10 minutes while you're sitting there. just sweat in your balls off. You got one of these little bad boys under your shirt and you were feeling just fine. It blows air up towards your neck where your veins are and it really helps dissipate heat. It would definitely be good for hiking as well, especially in hot climates. poo poo this until you try it out

It's kind of funny how he was so afraid to get on the hammock at first because the posts might not hold it but then later he proceeds to rock it in the posts are rocking with him.

I love hammocks for camping. I sleep on my stomach which weirdly works very well in a hammock for me, and put my knife and flashlight in the pouch and then sling it over to close the hammock.
