Well, the first thing that comes to mind is the previous chapter of Luke 2:49-52 where prior to these events Jesus as a boy was presumed to have been lost in Jerusalem, but was found preaching to the elders in a synagogue. I don’t see how this was missed, but Jesus was just as much a man as He was God even as a child He was still the Messiah! 49 And He answered, “Why did you have to look for Me? Did you not know that I had to be [l]in My Father’s house?” 50 But they did not understand what He had said to them. 51 He went down to Nazareth with them, and was continually submissive and obedient to them; and His mother treasured all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and men. It’s important to note that if Jesus lived 85% of His life out of order or contrary to God's design, as he mentioned, it would contradict the biblical understanding of Jesus as the sinless Son of God. While we may not have specific details about those years, we can trust that God's purposes were being fulfilled during that time. Jesus, being fully obedient to the Father, lived in perfect harmony with God's will throughout His entire life, including the period preceding His public ministry. Please search the scriptures for context and truth. It’s there if you allow God to guide you!

He said Jesus wasnt the oldest sibling... I unserstand now. He wasn't preaching about the true Jesus Christ of Nazareth, he was talking about somebody else. It all makes sense. We must study the Word of God for ourselves.

"85% of his life he is wrong..." That statement is heretical. It creates a theological conundrum. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. If the preacher suggests that Jesus, the personification of truth is wrong, it creates in the heart of the listener a question. Are their other areas where Jesus is wrong. Let me state clearly, Jesus is NEVER wrong. He is the way, the truth, and the life. On the way to the cross, Jesus lived, loved, and was obedient unto his sacrificial death on the cross. The fascinating thing about eating certain foods, fish for example is the ability to, when you run upon a bone knowing how to spit it out. Listeners to the preacher, know how to spit out a bone when you run into one during the meal. ❤️✌️

EXACTLY! That statement is complete heresy. If Jesus had ever been "wrong", as Jamal Bryant said, that means that He would not be a perfect, sinless, spotless sacrifice. But because Jesus was perfect and sinless, His blood was qualified to pay for all of our sin. Then Jamal Bryant ignores what Luke 2:52 says after He was found in the Temple at age 12 with the doctors and lawyers, "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with GOD and men." (NKJV) During the time of His life that Jamal claims that Jesus was "out of order" and "wrong", God's word says that Jesus was growing in God's favor. Finally, Jamal acts as though Jesus was either ignoring or avoiding His ministry call. Jesus always did the Father's will and did so at the TIME the Father designated for Him to do the work. He even avoided dying before it was time for Him to go to the cross. Paul declared in Galatians 4:4- "But when the FULLNESS OF THE TIME had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman..." Jesus wasn't born until the appropriate time designated by the Father. And again, if Jesus waited to age 30 to begin His ministry, it is not because He was out of order ignoring His purpose, it's because it was not the Father's will that He begins until age 30. As you mentioned, Jamal's statement is heretical, and he should have been called out for that.

The words of "85% of His life being wrong" After hearing that, I don't need to hear anything else or to take anything else away from this message. When you say something out of line like that, you've thrown me off and created confusion! How do you even make that understandable? How do you even explain that? How do you even come back from that? Make that make sense! The Bible is right and true! That there are wolves in sheep clothing. There are false prophets. There's gonna be a great falling away. And those that say, "Lord, Lord did I not....... " and Jesus will say, "Depart from me. I never knew you." He built them up in the beginning only to say what he said. I don't get it! Preacher said, "For 85% of Jesus' life, He wasn't doing what He was supposed to do." Lord if that isn't heretical or blasphemous, I don't know what is. The fact that he would offer untrue commentary about Christ is saddening. Sir, preach the truth. At no point in His earthly life was Jesus ever out of order. He had always been doing the will of the Father. Jesus didn't change careers. He didn't shift to a different vocation. He was, is, and always will be the Son of God, who is God.

The way I would have got up and walked out of that church. ain't no way! 1 Timothy 4:1 "Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons!" The only thing that God promised us is that he would never leave us. After listening to the entire message with an open mind & critical thinking while exegesis the scriptures, I see where Pastor Bryant was coming from. I believe choice of word "wrong" throws everyone off & immediately the hearer shuts down their hearts & ears. He wasn't talking wrong in the sense of sin or disobedience. He focusing more on calling....earthly or spiritual, not Jesus sinning. We understand Jesus was 100% God & Man. He was focus on the man side of Jesus. We understand God placed us on the earth for specific reason. And those trial & error we finally find of spiritual purpose. We, that name the name of Christ, sometimes forget we are pilgrims. We were placed in this world, but not of this world. God sent Jesus to saved that which was lost, redeem man back to God; a savior, not a carpenter. And yes, Jesus last 3½ years of his life was powerful & purposeful....Baptism, holy spirit falling on him like a dove🕊, God speaking from heaven announcing this is Son, in whom I'm well please. He began his ministry, healing, preaching & finally died for the sins of the world. Rose again, went back to his father, sent us the Holy Spirit to empower us to continue the work he started until he return. I believe we can become closed minded when it come to the Bible been challenged, not to prove God & his word wrong, because help us to gain a deeper revelation. God & his word is always right. Again, I do believe he used the a poor choice of word, however I do get Pastor Bryant ultimate goal of the message. Also, it doesn't make me look at Jesus any different. Jesus is 100% God & man. He was tempted at all points, as we are, yet he didn't sin. Pastor Bryant was just focusing on the man side of Jesus. That's all my two cents. Blessings everyone.

Brother, for him to use the word "wrong" here, and quantify it with "85%" is a not a small thing, it is a very deliberate thing. Just because the gospels largely account for the ministry of Jesus does NOT mean the pre-ministry life of Christ was wrong or unimportant. ALL pastors have a responsibility to exegete and preach through the proper use of words. The safest way to do this is simply to say what the Bible says, without embellishment, with emotionalism, without unverifiable three-year promises to an entire congregation of desperate people. Brother, pray for discernment on which "pastors" you listen to as well as the instinct to know when something is heretical.

@@Cassandra9021 Listen again, and listen how emphatically he triples down on his point. It's irresponsible of him to say what he said HOW he said it. If wants to say that the Lord didn't [complete] His mission until after He ascended, then that's more acceptable than saying He was "wrong" before He started His earthly ministry. The Bible doesn't say that at all, and this should be our final authority on the value of Jesus's life before incarnation, before His ministry, during and after His ministry. NOT this man who repeatedly grandstands on the pulpit to those who lack the discernment to listen with a critical ear (and likely would be falsely shunned for "touching God's anointed" if they were to call him out on his choice of words).

@@rajhansakima it’s clear that the word “wrong” was offensive to some who heard this message. I agree that he could have used another term to make his point. On the other hand, his choice of the word is the only reason I clicked on the message in the first place. I was both intrigued by where he might go with this topic and blessed by hearing this perspective on this aspect of the life of The Christ . I tended to gravitate more towards his use of the description “out of order with his mission” than the single word “wrong”, as I can relate to spending inordinate amounts of time on things that are not in alignment with my purpose.. Personally I am glad that the topic has the shock value that it did so I was able to find it and glad that I could discern the real message the Pastor was sharing that day. I am not of a mind to either crucify or defend the packaging, just sharing my perspective that I was not as offended as some have been by the way it was presented.

Preaching an imperfect gospel. They don’t interpret everything accurately and cannot be relied on. Some are doing the best they know how. They are just there to remind you to genuinely pursue the Creator to be in the relationship with Elohim as is right. Jamal Bryant would have such a good chance of getting to Heaven if he would quit preaching and move into his real calling which would be a motivational speaker. I've been listening to this so far for 14 minutes and 24 seconds and I'm panning the audience while shaking my head WOW. FACTS if they stay under this kind of preaching their lives will become tremendously better but their soul which has a destiny will be in trouble 😞.

Yes. This may be true for we who are 100% flesh and nothing more. BUT THIS IS NEVER THE CASE FOR AN ALL-KNOWING ALL-SEEING GOD WHO NEVER CHANGES, IS NEVER CONFUSED NOR EVER CAUGHT BY SURPRISE. Please hear the Word which makes clear that there is no shifting, no shadow of turning with Him. Jesus did exactly what He was supposed to do from day one until the last. It is because He was Righteous and completely obedient, PERFECT IN ALL HIS WAYS, that He was qualified to atone for our imperfection and sin. Thee Word does not contradict Himself. He was also 100% God and it is impossible for God to be unfulfilled or confused because it is impossible for God be out of alignment with God. God is not a respecter of persons; so, we should never be driven by how much money is in a man's pockets, how well known he is, know how big his Church is, nor how well he articulates... such that we would assume that automatically somehow he must be right and what he is saying must make sense. To this God commands in 2nd Timothy 2:15 that we study to show ourselves approved workman that need not to be ashamed rightly dividing Thee Word of Truth. None of his analysis of Christ aligns with what Thee Word says about Christ. This makes Jamal Bryant's doctrine FALSE regardless of our relatability to those analyses. I pray you find everything our perfect, unwavering, stable and secure God is leading you to. BLESSINGS!❤
