I love how the general reaction to TMM is like "there were so many problems... but I can't say I didn't enjoy it!" 😂😂

I remember around the start of the 2010s whatever constituted as the TMM fandom back then absolutely loved Kish and wanted him to end up with Ichigo over Aoyama (who they claimed was boring, I felt rather alone in liking him). I find it amusing that nowadays it seems like the tables have turned 😂

I'm always gonna be a Kish fan. More than being corresponded by Ichigo, is the character with more development in the story and all the mahou shoujo that I've read. And, I agree with you, the aliens aren't the bad guys even if they perform the role of villains. It's a shame that TMMN didn´t explore the whole potential of the story in this remake instead of the love story, but I loved the end of the remake. Ichigo finally found a dream different to being with Aoyama.

I have to wonder if a lots of the pacing issues with the manga would be lessened if it was red as it was serialized in the magazine

I love Tokyo Mew Mew so much! It's my favorite series of all time! I was wondering, is it okay if I'm mostly just into stuff aimed towards girls? It's hard to explain this, but I have a hard time getting into stuff that doesn't have that girly feeling to it a lot of times (It's hard for me to say what I mean by girly). I'm not ashamed that I love girly stuff, but I am a little afraid of the fact that I have a hard time getting into stuff that doesn't give me those girly feelings (Since those tend to give me those warm fuzzies. Those and media aimed towards really, really little kids, like 5 year olds)

i feel like i had the opposite opinion, but i also get overwhelmed by long series so i might have just liked being able to blow through a manga

The reason why the manga feels rushed if you read it in one go is cuz when she was publishing it, it was coming out once a year. So months had passed before you got to continue it and in the story they do mention how a month goes by every time it feels like time has skipped. We just see the important parts to the story. This works for book format but would not for a media adaptation which is why I’m glad they add filler. For any newcomers, I would recommend giving each volume a week break before picking up the next right away so there is time to it not feeling rushed. The read is just as good as the anime if you just take your time and don’t rush. It’s the same for sailor moon. Months would pass before a volume was out, but if you read it in one sitting it feels rushed. Hunter x hunter has this similar problem. All old manga, comics, books and tv shows were like this. Today manga comes out quicker cuz the technology is better so it’s easier to make a smooth sailing story without worrying about people having to keep up with everything. Before 2010 we had episodic shows mostly. Now we have long running stories cuz it’s easier to tell them. Old show Smallvilles a slog to go through in one go but if you watch 1 season and then give it a break for a week before going to season 2. It’s a better experience. It’s not often masterpiece long stories came out like full metal alchemist. I’ve always found Kisshu toxic. I had a crush on Ryou as a teen, but now I’m glad Ichigo has such a lovely relationship with Masaya.

Tokyo Mew Mew is one of my favorite anime's, and I agree The older anime series is just a lot of filler kind of like how they did Sailor moon's. I highly recommend trying out the new series! One thing though that I really didn't like is that they changed each Ichigo's outfit to red instead of pink😅

I love the TMM/MMP fanbase and you are not an exception. Your interest about the show is admirable and respectable. I really feel nostalgic about TMM and is a wonderful mahou shoujo I'm proud of, since mahou shoujo is one big favourite genre of mine.

If you say Tokyo Mew Mew anime (both 2002 and New 2022-2023) was better than manga, and I will say... I Agree. Tokyo Mew Mew was my Mahou Shojo anime until know. Because of this anime, everybody said it same like Sailor Moon. So that's why I'll try to watch Sailor Moon too and I says, both have a charm itself. For example like Mizuno Ami from Sailor Moon and Midorikawa Retasu (Lettuce) from Tokyo Mew Mew. Both have water element but different personality and they have a both charm itself. Correct me If I'm wrong, there was a remake for Sailor Moon with a name "Sailor Moon Crystal" and I watch that and fully dissapointed. The remake FORCING ONLY FOCUS ON THE MANGA (Even the face from the manga design was not good for remake). No filler + unnecessary plot hole made this remake SMC was a crap. And they fans said it from manga. I mean like WTF?? So I decide try to read the manga and like God I hate this remake Sailor Moon. And I remember Hunter × Hunter got a remake the anime too, but some filler 1999 was not on remake 2011 and it rushed. Yes the battle was good but it didn't have a 90's era filler. And I know some says it was not on manga but that's why the anime so special. *You could add filler for some addition story or made it complete* . So Tokyo Mew Mew New~♡ luckily was not try to became Sailor Moon Crystal era. Season 1 have 1 non manga episode from total 12 episode in season 1 + Season 2 have 5 filler episode. And both filler execution. And that's I love TMM New rather than SMC and HxH Remake. Even the original Pudding's mother from 2002 anime and not manga back in New 2023 series of the anime. At least Sailor Moon was do the part for Eternal and Cosmos movie. An answer path for 90's and manga lovers.

I don't know if you saw the remake, but I suggest to watch it. It is quite different and I saw most people don't like it... but I did, and I was (am) a huge fan of the 2002 version... There are pros and cons in both versions...

As someone who didn't read the manga until I was a preteen and enjoyed it on my own terms, I can understand how an older individual could view the story as feeling like it's being put through its' paces and the relationships between the characters + personalities not being as fleshed out. The second anime (on which Mia Ikumi worked on to update/further develop the story and characters) also takes its' time to develop a genuine camaderie between the Mew Mews whenever it's to do with their work at the cafe or on their off-time in small moments together or mentioning the impact they've had on each other starting with the 2nd episode of the remake. Yup, the 2nd episode. There's a lot of little details in the 2nd anime that can be found on rewatches or if you're an eagle-eyed viewer.

I started reading the manga the other day!

I came here after just finishing the reboot today! I watched all of the 2000’s anime and then proceeded to buy the manga, although I actually haven’t finished the last one. But so far, the manga’s pretty good to me! And I loved the 2000’s version! The reboot I do have quite a few issues with, but ultimately I enjoyed it and thought it was fun to watch! I personally think my rating would go like this: 2000’s anime > og manga > return 2023 manga > mew mew new reboot > 4kidz version ANYWAY thanks for the new Tokyo Mew Mew content! 💕

lol this was my first anime! I read the manga and I watched the French version first, (which dubbed half of the English dub and the other half of the Japanese dub). I watched the English dub a few days ago and it’s…..interesting to say the least. The English dub was definitely 4KIDS most popular dub because half of the Tokyo mew mew dubs go based off 4KIDS.I’m pretty sure 4kids dubbed the series so poorly that their rights got revoked half way through the series. People got upset because the last episode of the English dub left on a cliffhanger of ichigo running in the rain with a “To Be Continued”In my opinion they did DoReMi and Winx Club so much better (considering that actually finished Winx club) (idk why but I remember they did some sort of pretty cure dub? I could be wrong) I will say about the English dub is that it had a pretty good soundtrack! (Animal instinct, supernatural, and dance another day) overall the anime was way much enjoyable and memorable than the manga.

I have the manga. I have all the older books plus the omnibus but I have mix feelings of the new mew mew new but the old one was great all 52 some episodes.
