Yeah I have a setup that’s 10mph faster than anything else, but you’re a turtle in the infield and it’s really easy for people to rear end you because they don’t expect you to brake so early. Honestly I think medium downforce might be the best compromise

Luck of the draw who's in your lobby. I ghost-raced a 1.2k vrs lobby yesterday and two drivers were swapping tips on where to attack, how to take the corners. Was the most wholesome race ive ever witnessed.

In open practice, the 3k+ rated drivers are an absolute menace.

​ @Blue_Monkey it is very much frowned upon in real multiclass racing. It is a matter of closing speeds. If that slower car is a lapped car from the same class, therefore not really that much slower, and your rival would only need to lift the throttle before sliding in behind you, then it would be OK. But a car from a lower class, which is so much slower that he has to go hard on the brakes in order to not crash into it, then it is a very different story. You have to consider the GT4 like it is some kind of obstacle you and your rival have to avoid. Similar to that tire barrier in turn 1. If somebody is on your inside into turn 1 you cant't just push him over and force him into the barrier. You have to leave enough room to the barrier so that both of you can make it through. Similarly you can't just push him into the back of a GT car. If he is already next to you then you have to leave enough room to any lower class car so that both of you can make it past that car without slamming on the brakes. Besides: if the speed differential between the cars is that huge, then trying to box somebody in like that is just asking for an accident. In this case Miguel gave up the position, because he would not have been able to hold it through the left hander anyways. But had there been a longer straight, then Miguel would not just jump on the brakes, loose all his momentum and possibly several positions. He would try to squeeze over. The same way Oliver squeezes over whenever he gets boxed in by some other idiot. And with 3 cars in such close proximity, and iRacing's netcode, that is always a recipe for disaster.

It is not@@hannesgroesslinger. Nobody minds this either, as such situations are unreasonably dangerous otherwise. And drivers are far more careful irl than in sim racing.
