I used to be like him, but you get made fun of, even in professional work settings, and kind of crushed by cliques in the real world. I had to learn to mellow out a bit and even then it's hard to be accepted. But enthusiasm like this is not always well received in the workplace. Maybe on a talk show. I think we assume how much power even directors have over their projects in big budget movies. It takes one executive or casting director to reject an actor like Ke and Spielberg can’t really change hollywood racism overnight. Can you even think of a hollywood movie or project that had asian actors in them? Hollywood is incredibly white especially in the 80s and 90s when Ke was trying to break out. Even George Takei the most famous american asian actor didn’t get a ehole lot of work after Star Trek.

I was at the Disney convention watching the panel he was talking about. After Harrison ford discussed Indy 5 it was the Marvel portion and Ke comes out for Loki and said he got lost and thought this was the Indiana Jones reunion panel. He seems like such a genuinely nice man and I’m excited to see what else he has in store for us. EEAAO is such a great showcase for what we’ve been missing out from him all these years.

They’re in separate categories. Ke is up for Best Supporting Actor, and Brendan is up for Best Actor. I hope both of them win. Brendan’s race is a little less certain because Austin Butler has been performing well on the awards trail, too, so it’s a toss-up. Ke’s race is a lock. He’s winning that Oscar.

It was touching and sad to hear that Ke Huy Quan had thought everyone had forgotten about him. I certainly can't speak for everyone, but for myself, I know that well before this movie, the characters Short Round and Data were names that often came up in pop culture conversations and on podcasts that I listen to. Those characters are baked into my nostalgia and are absolutely some of the most memorable parts of those movies, which in turn were extremely memorable parts of my pop-culture development. I'm glad he's getting this chance to find out just how much he's remembered, and how excited we are to see him back on our screens.

The second everyone I knew found out Ke Huy Quan was the kid from Goonies and Indiana Jones, they were instantly incredibly excited. He was the favorite child actor of so many people. Why the bloody hell did people not give him a job? We lost YEARS of having this incredible actor perform for us, and he lost so much time he could have been living his dream.

He went to University and became a stunt coordinator and worked behind the camera on some pretty big movies so he was still in the industry. But, absolutely. Acting makes him so happy, I'm glad he's back into it. I'm excited to see him in more roles. But, when you think about it, how many parts, before this past decade, were cast with Asian actors? He said himself, it wasn't until he saw 'Crazy Rich Asians' he realised that there ARE parts out there and he wanted back into it.

That dude is so humble. It seems to me like he really feels his childhood may have just been like a dream or something… and now being thrust into the spotlight is overwhelming. I mean his outro sounded like he probably played it cool as long as he could then got himself boosted up and said “this is incredible” presumably about just meeting Colbert and being On his show. Omg I love This dude.
