Gt7 VR right now is probably the most accessible, most versatile and in some ways, the best racing VR experience to be had in all of gaming. Its crazy that THIS was a regular software update to this game.

@@C0M0estas GT has always had free updates except for the Lewis Hamilton dlc from GT sport. Not sure why it’s so surprising. They made the game for VR but didn’t announce it until VR was ready.

They need to improve the information given when turning off the HUD. Either needs to be a radio to the pits, or at least position boards held on the start/fin straight. Drivers irl don’t simply drive blind and guess their position/when to pit etc.

I was doing day-into-night at the Nürb with the hud off. There were sparks that wiggled and rose up like they naturally do. When the cars in front put a wheel off in either grass or dirt the game kicks up a bit of either and in 3D it looks so realistic with the grass blowing or the little rocks getting thrown and bouncing everywhere. The headlight cast the shadows on the trees so detailed I could make out the car ahead’s rear wing. I was in awe! Its such an amazing experience.

Got my psvr 2 on Friday, can not believe the difference from the psvr 1.. Night and day, can't see me racing now if its not in VR.. Total game changer, hope F1 23 has VR support.. 👌👍 A good flight sim too would be nice. 😀

Rory, dunno if you do or not, but it's really, REALLY worth adjusting your position in the car. I'm six foot (ish 🙂), and the position it starts you in is for an average sized person who is smaller than me. So, pause it, hunker down in your seat a bit and push your head a few inches forward, resent the position, and when you sit up straight again you'll be a bit higher and a bit further back in the car. It doesn't sound much, but it makes a huge difference. Massive. It's totally worth it

Side note - it starts in the same position every time you start a race, but if you hunker down and forward for the time when your view switches to VR, you set it at that point, so you can do it without pausing. It's a bit awkward, but worth it. Cheers dude 😁

Just look at your legs or the bottom of your wheel and reset. No need to hunker down or anything. Also heard if you do this while inside the car in the showroom it’ll remember it for that car but I haven’t tested it yet

Yes, the height of the player should be an option in the game. It is ok in single play to just adjust while racing but in online it is annoying. If you miss the spot you’re basically done.

Gt7 has a telemetry udp network and simhub is compatible with it so you can add haptic shaker for motor vibration gear shift and much more .

Nice. I feel that week off coming for you to my friend. I cant get enough of gt7. As soon as my woman falls asleep a head into the gameroom until 2 to 3am about every night and got to be up at 7:30. I like gaming late at night because I know no one is going to be knocking at the door or calling and texting. As soon as I put the headset on during the day my phone starts going off with alerts like crazy. Sometimes I just shut it off. Slave to my phone no more.

Another great video. Anybody into racing should pick up the psvr2. Its worth it for GT7 alone. It's a mind blowing experience and you will get hundreds and hundreds of hours of entertainment from it their is so much content in the game. Playing in life sized scale, in side the car in full 3d with real spatial awareness makes your real life driving instincts kick in. You have to check the mirrors before maneuvering just like in real life and you can feel the change in elevation of the track. Being able to look into the corners with your head as you turn makes a subtle but notable difference. It's a revolutionary experience and if you have a real love of cars like me will make you grin from ear to ear everytime you sit inside ready for a new race. It really does feel almost like real life. If you get chance to give it a try dont pass up the chance, you wont regret it.

True. PD need to offer some kind of toggle view option for things like tyres and fuel. There's nothing better than racing games free of the all the HUD elements for immersion, but you need to be able to access certain info to be able to work out strategy. Or, seeing as it is the 'Real Driving Simulator' they need to introduce some kind of spotter/race engineer mode, that can relay things like race position, lap info etc. Not talking about something as detailed as Crew Chief, but something that can relay the necessary race info.

Driving with h pattern makes it so much more fun, some of the new older race cars they added have h pattern but sadly u cant use it in sport mode which is incredibly dumb, n makes me wanna just play offline against sophy a.i.

I've been doing this pre vr with a big panel too I can highly recommend turning everything of with and without VR (ps I keep running out of fuel in endurance races though, as not all dashboard fuel gauges are created equal.... )

The dashboard counts as info, although it’s missing a lot, such as tyre temps, fuel, lap times (maybe?). There should be a button for cycling dashboards, or maybe there is? Idk, I haven’t played GT7.

I'd love to turn the whole HUD off if it wasnt for the fact that, without team radio, it isn't viable for races with tyre wear and fuel consumption. Also, in the heat of the race you'd even forget which lap you're currently running, or the position you're in.

I’ve got a quest 2 and index but also got ps5 and psvr2. Obviously it’s not cheap but their is literally hundreds of hours of entertainment to be had in GT7. It has an impressive amount of content. Worth every penny in my opinion. Look forward to racing you in future if you decide to jump in!

I have a PS5 and a decent rig. Now I want to know guys before I spend half my rent money on a PSVR2. Is it worth it and how sick is this experience. @@theindubitable I’m using the Fanatec DD Pro with the BMW GT2 V2 wheel and V3 pedals. For the money it’s pretty good. 8Nm of force is all I need. I actually have it set to 4 out of 10 in GT7 or my arms wear out in minutes.

Just find it odd its taken VR to have racers turn off all the HUD and experience driving like this. Not knocking the VR, more how some drivers never seem to have tried this before VR arrived. I'm sure iRacing, AMS2, rFactor2, ACC etc. have offered this type of driving in VR well before PD have with GT7. You can do this in single screen mode. Doesn't quite have the FOV of the VR and you can't look left and right, but works very well in single screen too. I play single screen and do time trials and hotlapping from the in car cam view and all the HUD turned off. Have done for ages in GT7. I know VR allows you to look around, but find it odd during races that drivers are looking all around the inside of the car and not looking ahead. Why? Surely the time for looking around the inside of the car is when it's in the garage/showroom.

I have an incredible gaming rig and a very powerful pc to run VR racing. I absolutely LOVE racing. Yet, I don't play it all that often. Why? Because getting started is just annoying. It's not difficult because I'm used to it now but being able to simply turn the thing on and have it already ready to go would be amazing. Jealous of the PSVR2.

GT7 is the only game I can't play due to Motion sickness 😞

How do you not get the motion sickness, I played 10 mins vr willowsprings and I had to tap out.

That sucks. I can usually last maybe 90 minutes so far in VR before feeling a little off and need to take a break. My wife can't even last 5 minutes and wants to barf. I hear chewing gum maybe helps. I think you can get used to it over time. Just play until you feel uneasy and stop and then try again later

I am going to try again, took some motion sickness pills. I no its not tne way but I want to test it out.

@@riddii You get used to it. I'm really bad with motion sickness. After a few hours here and there, maybe after 3-4 days, I can basically spend all day on it without getting sick. Just take it in doses and look straight when you drive most the time

Can be weird. I always take of the headset to my dog staring at me with such intent. You can easily see the outside world though with a simple click. Awesome passtime.

What's actually so new about it? It doesn't see much difference to other racing simulations from PC2, ACC, Automobilista 2, ETS and ATS.

saw a video of the Honda race at Spa in the rain looked fantastic, sadly shelling out 1k to upgrade to a PS5 and the VR unit on a game I still have problems with is not going to happen

@@albertkelly7129 well yes, but Rory is explaining to us what he’s experiencing, he does it well. I had PSVR V1 and it is amazing, but will be a few years before I can justify getting the new one.
