As a retired Police Officer, and being called to assist with hundreds of lock-outs over my career, that "locksmith" is a shark. There is no way the cost should have even been close to $300.00; more like $75.00 - $100.00. I just want to commend you on your positive attitude and your desire to help people. It is refreshing to know there are still people like you around. You are an extreme asset to your community and you should be very proud of the work you do!

I agree. I would normally go and do that service for free, since my police department gave us some lock out tools to open car doors. Suppose to be for emergency, but in that situation cutting that yard and making it look great WAS an emergency in my book. $300 bucks is highway robbery!

$300 was way too much. Call a few locksmiths to get a competitive price. If you have no other options then you may have to pay it.

keep a spare key in your wallet or in a compartment in your cellphone case. i know i know , thanks for the advice AFTER the fact. it will save you from those costly locksmith charges. nice work as usual, your videos never disappoint. keep up the great work Spencer.

Get AAA they get your car unlocked and also do battery replacements I think you can have up to 3 times a year. Well worth the $56.00 a year.

Yeah, I'm glad I have a roadside assistance plan membership. Cash calls for assistance or towing can result in hundreds of dollars in charges, especially when they happen after "Normal Business Hours".

My husband traveled half the year and I got AAA. I used it several times bc I had more things to take care of with him out of town and I'd do dumb things like set my keys on the seat "for just a second".

You might want to invest in a slim-jim (door unlocker) That guy charged you 3 times the going rate. That said, outstanding job as always. That "rug" of grass and dirt you pulled off of the cement slab looked like a moldy bear skin. Haha. Cheers

Many years ago it was 150 for them to use that piece of equipment they inflate til the door pops. I'm sure it has gone up but 300 sounds excessive but not sure with inflation and different prices for different states. Great job on the yard and oh my what a surprise that patio was. Check with your truck insurance they have sometimes a car unlocking clause. Ours does..... it covers most things that triple A would cover and now we don't have that service. I have called them often......

Maybe the cost varies from place to place, but in my neck of the woods $300 for a locksmith would be highway robbery! I'm fortunate to have free roadside assistance from the dealership where I bought my car for 5 years, and it's a darn good thing too because I've needed it a couple times. All that aside, you do amazing work and I'm glad you post videos of your process. Who wouldn't enjoy watching a good looking guy doing hard work?😉

You never know how a city is going to react by you doing this kind of good Samaritan work. It's kinda like when people get a ticket for putting money in a parking meter that is almost expired, to help someone out. The good Samaritan gets ticketed (the city denies the reason I am about to give, of course) because they are depriving the city of a fine. But hey, you are doing great work, and I am glad the cop was cool. Don't fear them. They put their pants on one leg at a time like everyone else.

How nice the policeman normally watches your channel. Glad someone had the talent to be able to get your truck unlocked and was fast in coming. Impressed with how much better you were making that place look and all the recovered paving. The twin trimmed bushes were a nice touch to make it extra neat.

I used to do lock outs for $20-$45 and your truck is real easy to unlock using a slim jim, the way he did it using those air wedges he most likely bent your door frame. If you are getting some air noise around the door when you are driving at freeway speeds the door is bent.

He definitely wedged the door open WAAAY to far. You can tell he's an amateur just out to rip people off. Guarantee he's not licensed and insured. If you can't unlock a truck door of that style in less than 5 minutes and not having to wedge the door frame to the point of being able to just reach inside with your hand to unlock it then you have no clue of what your doing. If using an slim jim or other skinny thin device, you shouldn't need any more than a half inch gap or even less. And i guarantee he warped your door frame.

Honestly I thought the guy wasn't that good at his job because of how long it seemed to take him (with how sped up it was). But that was just me comparing it to the locksmith that got into my car one time. Guy was in and out in 5 seconds and it cost me $60, back in 2017. So like 77 bucks now. Guy got there in 10-15mins like this dude too. Makes way more sense to me if the jobs far away it'd cost more, not when the jobs right next to ya like this.

$300 is a gross overpayment for a lockout. My car insurance has a roadside assistance add on that only costs me $1 a month and it covers lockouts (and being out of gas and emergency tows and more), I've had to use it and it's awesome not having to worry about paying for that stuff. See if yours has a similar option.

Call your local sheriffs office. They usually come unlock your vehicle. They do in my area, ask me how I know that!

I would recommend carrying spare key on you when you do these jobs. I attach mine to my belt loop and then slide it in my pocket when I travel. Yes, I locked my keys in the car several times before I learned my lesson. 😂

I would be willing to bet that if you mentioned this type of channel to anyone before you started, they would have laughed in your face. Now I have only been a subscriber for a month or two and when I started watching, you were at 1.4 million subscribers and I was like,WOW. AND LAST TIME I CHECKED YOU WERE OVER 3.4 million subscribers and still growing. $300 is rather steep! I always put my keys in the ignition as my truck will remind me when I open the doors. He will not allow me to lock the doors if the keys are in the ignition and the door is open. Thanks for what you do!

Back in the 70s, guys thought it was cool to have their key ring on a chain that went through a belt loop (maybe you could try it). Do I think you were ripped off? Doesn't matter - what's done is done & cannot be undone. You did a fantastic job on the property!
