Highlight reel from my casual playthrough (or Let's Play, whatever you want to call it) of Shin Megami Tensei V on Hard mode, streamed live on my Twitch channel! After playing through SMT Nocturne HD, this is only my second game in the Shin Megami Tensei series (not counting the Persona franchise)
Another very good game, although with a couple of flaws. The lack of difficulty is definitely not one of them as you might notice rather quickly!
Definitely will come back to this game at some point for another playthrough, this looks like it has a few interesting options for potential Challenge Runs as well!

SMT on Hard is always a treat for sure. Might do a Challenge Run of this game sooner or later. Also I actually shouldn't use the word "actually" that often actually.

This was a lot of fun to watch! :) I’m about to attempt a hard mode myself after finishing it on Normal just recently 😄 so I wanted to watch a few other people’s playthroughs to see the general experience. Something that might be fun & engaging for both streams and KZfaq videos would be a small death counter on the side, to see how many times you have died thus far in the game. It would also be helpful for players like me to have some idea of what to expect. Cheers and thanks for the fun video! :) I’ll check out the rest of ur channel as well!

It was painful to watch him die so many times when he could have the skill “endure” to survive a killing blow with 1hp

Endure is such a great move, it saved my tank characters so many times. That & Fierce Roar are just brilliant.

I really wanted to use Tao, but I'd been using Idun up 'til then. Couldn't justify swapping her out.

Yeah for Ishtar, if you don’t cut off any of the 8 power sources, then she gets EIGHT TURNS! So for every one you cut off , she loses a turn. And then if u get them all she can’t use her signature move. Would enjoy seeing you attempt it without destroying any of them, I tried it on Normal and got recked 😂😂

I’m currently playing on hard and judging by the team composition, you barely min/maxed the best ones for your level. I spent hours fusing and using essences and meticulously planning for each boss fight. Took maybe 2 attempts and I only lost because of RNG

I did my first run on hard Even beating demifiend Only the beggining cn be harsh After that a little grinding sets u up

@@Cy3qi just need the right demons and setup, knowing enemy weakness changes the battle completely Also dividing attack attention so u dont get one shot

Haha Why wouldnt you guard when the enemy activates their magatsuhi phase? Unless you like getting criticaled to death

Well depending on what fight you are talking about, there could be several reasons. Either I thought I can beat the enemy before its next attack or especially in the beginning, I wasn't even aware that guarding cancels critical hits to begin with :D

You did so many of the ending quests out of order 😂😂 you ruined so many of the battles close to the end by being so over leveled :( usually the best thing to do is just try the quests as soon as you get them. Worst case scenario they are too hard and you come back later, but if you do it like you did, you end up having no challenge. A fight like Metatron which is supposed to be a lot of fun ends up being trivial. Same with the angels and Amanozako’s quests.

Oof on only using the English tracks for at least most videos. Voice, yes. Acting? no. Awful X_x. Go JP. Edit : Also, yes, the game runs like DOG SHIT *because* it's on the Switch. If this was on a decent console or PC , it would have been far smoother. I'm hoping it gets ported to PC so I can replay it again, because it is a really top quality game, but I am not willing to tolerate the Switch's bullshit again. can't even maintain 20 fps a lot of the time, the loading times are numerous , awful, or both depending on what you're doing X_x. Still ran better than Bravely fucking Default 2.
