Dem strings look good, mine are starting to getting like that too, I noticed the sound of rusty strings have more bass, somewhat of a distorted sound and it's ideal for the music I play, post punk. I'm originally a guitarist, so I feel very comfortable with a short scale bass. Been playing guitar since 2007 and bass since 2021. It's a lotta fun with loopers
