Honestly this is what i think when people say customer service, but some places they will charge for ridiculous things. (charge to change a light bulb for example...) once after work they said to me to not fix a wiper arm to her car (not just the wiper) because the day was over and there wasn't enough time, even though she showed up early enough but other work was prioritized. Basically turned her away. I went against their order to fix it on her car after my work so she didn't come for nothing and got it free for her wait. honestly can't wait to do jobs on my own sometimes because of this.

My dad had one, paid £6500 for it as a brand new pre reg car with 6 miles on the clock back in 2012, in 2017 he px'ed it for a pre reg i20 and they gave him £3800 for it, despite having 50,000 miles on the clock. Was the best car deal her ever did. Part of me thinks they were just desperate to get rid of this mid spec i20 that had a CD player and no modern entertainment system though.

Quick tip for crunching syncro in third (usually when changing down) just touch on second gear before selecting third. Don’t put it fully into second, just half way in. That uses the syncro on second and eliminates the crunch. Free tip for your customer!

@@jashugg then either the syncro is worn out or it's poorly designed. The entire point of a syncro-mesh transmission is to eliminate the dog clutch from grinding in the transmission. If you get grinding while shifting a syncro there is something wrong.
@jashugg
@jashugg 2 жыл бұрын
@@nocare even when a gearbox is in good condition, it takes a moment for the synchros to match the rotational speeds required to endure smooth engagement. That’s the slight resistance you feel, quite noticeable if you change down a couple of gears at speed. Double declutching means the synchros have no work to do making the gear change quicker and meaning less wear on the synchros and the clutch.

Fair play to you. You gave him options. More than most dealers would do. For example I purchased a used Passat. Just to get me by. Cost 4 grand so not exactly a fortune however I noticed it liked to shake when idle. Being new to cars then just thought it was me. Nope turned out to be the DMF. The dealer (big one) said they wouldn't do anything. Wasn't until I contacted there main customer services with me stating I would be returning it for a full refund. Personally I don't think they liked me having this conversation over Twitter and they offered to fix it all up. However I can imagine most wouldn't take up the fight which is a shame. However if they acted like yourself then it wouldn't need any of that.

It's not the complaint that people remember. It's the response to any complaints that either pulls them back or pushes them away. I've had a a few complaints over the years, and those that were addressed in good faith gained my continued business. No unreasonable matters, mind you, but actual problems with an item that simply were overlooked or rare issue from a part malfunction, but handled well. Return business along with recommending them to others. The few that had no customer service at all were avoided for future dealings, as well as recommending others avoid their business entirely.

The dealership took good care of me and have made a decent offer to help me get a new (better) one and minimise the loss on the one I originally got. Thanks to their great service, they now have a customer for life despite initially selling me a car that was pretty damn bad. @@MonstaMunch101 OK in fairness to you the e-Audi is the least worst option. Fair play. Their gas versions have crazy depreciation, cars that do that do it for a reason - they turn into money pits to keep them on the road. Wanting a second car, especially after seemingly finding a fault with the first however minor shows you offer a good, proven trustworthy service. We both know a lot of dealers would’ve just ushered him away rather than offering differing options including a return. On subject of Units, I don’t know how your county does business rates relief but I know your only eligible for one property in most places so if you took on both units, even if you ran them as one business in one name and were eligible for relief, you may end up paying full rates on the 2nd one. Don’t ask the landlord, ask the council. I found this out last year on a unit and it massively increased the cost of the second obviously.

Hi James, just caught up with this one, the damaged i10... Definitely go for a four wheel alignment, one that will check caster, camber and tracking. This will check the suspension geometry in case of any minor damage to the front strut or knuckle, doesn't look as if it's been hit hard enough to damage the knuckle but is always best to check for piece of mind. Get a printout of the results for your records. Go for both units if you can bud, keep the valeting away from the paintshop 😉 excellent honest customer service again, well done 👍

Brill video. Have to admit I was a little deflated as I waited on the point of fireworks exploding! Think the moral of the story is 'people buy from people'; regardless of fancy showroom, make model, hit car or not Clearly the customer was equally fair and pragmatic (which I'm sure not all are), Garages need to watch this video and train their staff on how to actually treat customers when an issue arises on a car they sold....the amount of undue hassle I've had on a used car I bought last year (£15k car to be precise) cuz the garage did nothing to it only washed and hoovered it....ended up me pulling my hair out, standing on my head, financially costing them more, loosing a customer and me posting stinking reviews....purely out of morals and principles. Only discovered the channel, love the content.

Had the same syncro in third issue in my previous SEAT, with my rather calm driving style I learned how to live with it, to the point that I forgot about it. Had this car for 3 years and done 30k miles without repairing this issue...what's more when buying it I knew that DMF is on it's last legs, also lasted 3yrs without a problem...so what I'm trying to say is, as long as you're not a boy racer, cars with minor issues will last

Totally agree! I also swear by WD40. Had a few electrical problems due to moisture ingress with my Toyota Auris. 3 tins of WD40 and replacement gaskets later problem solved! Edit: and a wire brush for removal of light rust .

Wish all used car dealers were like you, my brother bought a used BMW 1 series a couple of weeks ago, check engine light came on the day after he bought it and the dealer is obstinately refusing to have anything to do with it. No refund, no offer of repair, stopped replying to his calls and messages.

The fact he offered a full refund, a week after the guy purchased it makes this dealer feel a lot more reliable and trustworthy. The proof is in the pudding when the guy came back to buy a second despite having a problem that wasn’t sold with the car… Imagine if you had an issue within 24 hours of buying a car from a dealer and was declined a full refund the next day?! Lol p.s my step dads a second hand car dealer, I wouldn’t buy a car from him. I would from chops garage 👍👍👍
