Although I can see where people find it very inconvenient for the sniffer dogs, I’m glad! I hate having a balcony next to someone with weed, the smell of it makes me feel sick. Can’t just leave it at home for a week.

I'm a weed smoker but I could never smoke on a cruise I take my whole family and it is not the appropriate place to smoke. I am fine drinking and having fun but I would never expose my baby to weed smoke

I just got off Carnival Venezia for 8 days. My 1st cruise! We went to Amber Cove Dominican Republic, Turks & Caicos, Half Moon Cay Bahamas. I had a great time! Loved the ship! I will definitely do another cruise with Carnival

I love the k9 dogs. If you aren’t doing anything illegal than people have nothing to worry about. That didn’t bother me. Than again I’m a dog lover. You are correct the service was very slow. Hopefully they will get better staffed. I do think it’s a beautiful ship but I was disappointed with my room. I had a balcony but it felt extremely small and narrow. Bed was comfortable though. All in all I would recommend going if you have patience.

I don't do drugs but I do have a fear of dogs in general due to being the victim of an attack. I also have a mild allergy to dogs as well. I can understand why people who follow the rules would be nervous about a drug-sniffing dog on board.

I don't mind the dogs, because on the Celebration this past May 14-28 Back2Back Cruise and my neighbor was smoking on her balcony. I spelled the smoke. Anywho, I'm doing all the new ships of Carnival. This ship decor looks like the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas ❤I've been there too, and L.O.V.E.D taking my Mom. I'm excited, ordered, and received my Venezia windbreaker. Thank you!

Hi Justin! It's your #1 fan from Ft. Lauderdale. I have only been on a Celebrity ship and this March will be on the Celebrity Apex. 30 minutes for a drink is way too long to wait. You are missing out on all of the fun while waiting. That dude drinking out of his dirty shoe totally grossed me out and I am an RN that has never been grossed out in any of my duties. The ship looks absolutely beautiful but all bets are off when it comes to waiting that long to get a drink. Thankyou for your insight and all that you do to bring us with you on your adventures.

Regarding the drug sniffing dogs if people aren’t bringing things on board that aren’t allowed then they wouldn’t have any worries or complaints about the dogs! We’ve been on numerous cruises where people have drink pkgs and have never noticed fighting and issues like Carnival seems to have!!! Re drink pkg not allowed out of NY on day 1 its the same out of TX Cruise on love you videos !

It's not "new". It's just a "new addition ". It's an ex Costa Cruceros ship but owned by Carnival Corp . They've just pulled out Europe from their Costa Cruises fleet, painted it up & sent it over the Pond!

I just sailed on this ship for an 8 day caribbean cruise. The ship was super overcrowded and overbooked. It was supposed to hold 4200 passengers but there were 4800 on board. All the lines were super long

If you want a cheaper stay, look to staying in New Jersey. Stay at a hotel near the airport and Air Train from EWR to Penn, then Uber to the ship. This is my plan.

I was on the transatlantic sailing. I did not see a dog on our sailing. Very slow service in the Main Dining room was an issue during our sailing. Also things closing early happened as well.

@jahquis2748, Hello, we were on the transatlantic too. I was going to make a similar comment. The only issue I encountered was the slow service in the dining room. We had Your Time Dining in the Canal Grande Restaurant. We had a great time.

My wife and I were on the same cruise as well . . you are absolutely correct about the Main Dining Room . . also over and under cooked food. . it was the only issue we had. Hopefully it is straightened out by now. BTW . . every port on that cruise was beautiful!

I was on this same cruise. To your point, things did seem like a "shakedown" cruise -- aka ironing out the bugs. I had high expectations: it was an awesome cruise back in 2018 on the Horizon. Then in 2022 on Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas, and I thought "this was also good, but bang for buck, this didn't blow away Carnival for the extra price point." So I was a tad underwhelmed this year. Service was slow in the dining rooms for dinner. Not sure if that was waitstaff or kitchen related. The "striploin" steak was an option every night. My oldest got it the first night and, how shall I say this... it sucked. You'd be lucky if it was 1/2 inch thick. Good luck getting anything cooked to order on something that thin!!! Entree sizes looked small overall: like your protein & sides were stranded on an oversized plate. Just order 2 of them (the max). Appetizers & desserts were good, but as I said previously: everything arrived slow. Bartenders were good, and I tipped them accordingly. But housekeeping staff never checked in with us, even after we had to ask for additional beach towels (1 in room upon arrival for 3 people???). One gripe I had about Royal was that they downsized the entertainment venues to up the total # of them. Many times it was standing room only, which irked me. That's why this year we went back to Carnival. Very rarely did I not find a seat, but the lines get long FAST. Show up early. The shows were good, as were the comedians. There was definitely a subtle smell of sewage in some of the living quarter hallways. Not pleasant. We did smell weed out on our patio. I don't have a problem with it, but if it's deemed illegal, why do folks need to bring it aboard & smoke? Just pack it via edibles people!!! If it wasn't a problem, the dogs wouldn't be there... And our excursion on the catamaran to a private cove to snorkel, paddle board, etc... was cancelled due to the weather. That's not Carnival's fault, and it was the correct & safe call by the charter company. Refunded very quickly, so no issues there. Overall, I'd give it a B/B-. Good, but not great.

I was on the inaugural voyage of Costa Venezia from Trieste to the Middle East in 2019, and it's the most beautiful ship I've seen. The quality of their furnishing is on par with luxury hotels such as St. Regis. I had the most amazing time and fond memories on this ship!

Loving your content from this ship - she reminds me SO MUCH of the Venetian in Las Vegas - I've seen nothing like her at sea! I've just got off a Costa cruise (who they bought this ship from) and had a low down balcony - I found it pretty dark during the day, but so nice to be so close to the water!

Great video Costa has Two Excel Class ships same as the Carnival Mardi Gras The Costa Toscana and the Costa smerelda Both 50k tons larger than the Venezia. I hope Carnival Converts the two big ones as well.

Was on this ship this June. We were a large group and had the entire port side of the terrazzos cabins which was awesome. I did hear that two individuals were confined to their rooms for the duration of the cruise due to having drugs in their room. There was security posted outside of the room everyday.

Good video! I go out of NYC on NCL often and on the drinks with the package: You pay the difference between the taxes but not full price and it was only while in port. That same night, no tax fees. At least this is my experience.

Yea... With NCL you don't need to pay for your drinks while in port in NYC, you only have to pay tax on them. This ends up being a in the tens of cents up to maybe a dollar per drink depending on the cost of the drink you're getting. Certainly not enough cost to stop me from grabbing a drink shortly after boarding and getting my good time started!

I’m love Effie and her singing voice and style of music. She makes the cruise party. I can never figure out how to book a cruise where she is going to be because Carnival constantly moves the entertainment from one ship to the next. It makes a difference in my cruise experience because a lot of these bands suck that Carnival hires. Effie makes the band. 🤔

I like the shorter cruises because I have pets. I cruise at least once a month though. I do about 4 or 5 longer cruises a year if it's a Premier, Ultra, or Elite deal on Carnival. Look forward to 2 cruises on the Venezia early next year out of Canaveral.

Maybe Carnival should have a drink of the day that can be made in bulk like events with open bars will do. It really helps to keep lines moving when one bar handles special drinks and another does pre-made selections and wine.

On a four-day cruise it would be hard to spend more than a day in Bermuda. You would need to take at least a 6-day, I think.

the vista class has as a ship design has some major flaws. the traffic in that narrow hallway from people lining up to go to the comedy show, and people trying to go to and from the main dining room is the worst design i have ever seen. yes the ship is beautiful but the nyc crowd will tear it up in short order. worst cruising people in the country.

No issues with dogs on ships as I’m not trying to get away with anything illegal but it is sad that we now need them. We never find an issue leaving from New York but thanks for video and looking forward to the next time you sail Venezia as it is a possibility as we live in RI and always an easy drive for NY/NJ sailings.

Galveston has the same law for the drink package. I don’t drink, but many onboard do - and there are always the few that don’t know and get upset.

We just got back from our first cruise ever-Disney's Dream! We had a blast. We can't wait for our next cruise, however, we're thinking of a less expensive cruise. Which do you recommend for a great experience, but not as expensive as Disney? We're thinking about Carnival, but we've heard it's too rowdy. We are not partiers so we're not interested in getting drunk and all that! lol What are your recommendations? Thanks!

I noticed that several people commented that if you aren't plnning on bringing drugs you shouldn't mind the dogs, however I don't like dogs. I have been nipped twice in my life by dogs. I did nothing to them. I just think they could smell the fear I had for them on me.

There is a bar in the casino on the Carnival Vista. At least there was when I was on its inguinal sailing out of Trieste to Barcelona.

Galveston cruisers deal with the same alcohol package laws that New York cruisers do. Our cruise line gave us a $25 per person cruise credit to cover that.

I was on Mardi Gras last week and often smelled pot in the hallways. The dogs are clearly needed, though they were not on Mardi Gras.

Not surprised about the ship feeling cramped. This and the Firenze are the two smallest ships at sea that can hold over 5000 passengers at max capacity

The pizza is actually the one that is on the Mardi Gras which is wayyyyy better than pirate so that’s really cool.

We went in the horizon a few years ago and liked the ship, but again they didn’t have a bar in the night club and it was a nightmare for people who like to party. Sad to hear the Venezia is the same way.

Just got off this ship. Nice design but it was overpopulated, understaffed, extremly hot at times and pretty dirty(at least when we sailed). I also didn't like the lack of pool space for a ship heading to Caribbean islands. You could tell the ship was more acclimated for colder weather. IMO carnival should've left these Costa ships for smaller cruise lines to buy up & used the money to add newer ships or give some of their older ships a face lift in their fleet

Will be going to Canada on the ship in September and then 10 days next April. I expect to have less issues with crazy crowds because of these itineraries.

I understand the dogs. Weed is legal in NY and I’m sure people assume they can take it on the cruise since the port is NYC and it’s not a long cruise

I usually smell more cheap cologne and cheap perfume than weed. Plus dogs only can smell flower and dogs are not allowed to smell people as they board

try to cruise in Ritz Carlton Yatch Collection and take a review please show all menus in different bars and restaurants and crew bar if they have and crew cabins thanks.
