I wonder why there are no hotels in the game. The Aerodrome could have two options (like the Neighborhood) where, after an Airport, you can build either a logistics terminal (gold+production) or a hotel (gold+tourism). And a hotel could be built in the City Center to give more gold+tourism.
@firmanimad

A hotel might make more sense in a theatre district, no? Maybe coverting adjacency to tourism, increase tourism on tiles, or something.

A hotel in a theatre square could be +x% tourism in each adjacent world wonder. If it were in the city centre it would have to be +x% tourism for each world wonder this city has built. I think a city centre hotel would make the most sense. It would probably be +25%. Not too small to make it insignificant, but not too big to make it OP. Civ already uses +25%'s when it comes to tourism bonuses.

Wonders with great work slots can be justified by the fact that some wonders and beliefs I'm pretty sure boost certain great works, and Pingala can also boost great works. There's normally only so many slots you can have in one city, but wonders let you push past that limit, making Pingala even more effective for that city's tourism output.
@merlinthetuna

Bolshoi is also two free civics, which is potentially a huge amount of effective culture. Opera and Ballet is 725 culture, so even a crude estimation puts this at 1450 culture, and likely more in practice. It's more about catapulting you to a T3 government and Tourism policy cards than any the great works slots themselves. It also effectively buffs your wonder-based tourism, since those scale with your latest era of tech/civic discovery.

Might be your play style/difficulty. If none of them have a significant advantage on GPP that fits their strategy they generally vote to negate, even if they are a little bit ahead. Also each leader ai only has a couple great person types they view as critical, so in a regular game there will always be more options they see as valuable to negate in their rivals than there those they see as valuable to boost for themselves.

I know this is old but I'm binging your civ content that I ignored over the last few years ... But your so-called "hot take" that your civ-unique infrastructure should always give tourism is actually a really interesting idea. Civ 6 is a little different in that each civ's uniques aren't exactly comparable (some have unique improvements, others have unique buildings/districts etc) so there'd be some balancing to do ... but that's actually a good idea

Getting grievances for fighting back when a war is declared on you is ridiculous. With the exception of the capital you should really be able to hit back without getting the other AI mad at you. One thing that can help is getting the other AI to join the war, but they wont always go for that. (Although I did learn from Ursa that they sometimes will pay you crazy amounts to join if you ask them! Such good trades that it actually feels like an exploit.)

@iMakeSongzzz
@iMakeSongzzz Жыл бұрын
I am definitely not as good as potato for this but I’ll have a crack at it. For me, if I feel I’m late to the party with great artists points I feel it’s much better to build archeologists because It’s far less competitive. Its easier to get artifacts, but not always easy to theme a building since it’s more RNG than a great person. you can pass on great people if the match isn’t right. Its also much more expensive to buy artifacts vs a great work of art from an AI. Which Makes sense because it takes resources to build the archeologist. Additionally, if the match you’re in is a very passive one there should be less “sites” to find as they often spawn on old battle grounds, old tribal villages, and old barb camps. So if you’re busy at war the whole game u can expect more of them and therefore get more value. Building both is usually the play. But late game I’d lean more towards the artifacts.
