A technique you could use during chopping is where you place your hand it really can increase your cuts accuracy, speed and make it so you don’t have to put so much power into every cut

james as far as pasta goes, you can’t go wrong, pasta can be very sticky sometimes or not, the trick is to just keep moving it around and mixing it until it is a yellow ball. amazing job!!!

gordon talks alot about how much he loves youtube since his kids got him into it, also as just a chef and tv host gordons actually very receptive and funny and calm, on all of his british kitchen nightmares he still gets pissy but he actually really helps the restaurants and line cooks clean up there act with a kind heart, same thing on master chef kids and amatuers, hes truly acool cat and a great teacher, i wonder if he saw this and was satisfied seeing u level up your chef game

James, when you use the knife, leave the end of the knife on the cutting board and rock the knife forward while you cut. It’s like a slide forward as you bring the knife down. Much smoother and efficient cuts.

With pan sauces, it’s called deglazing. You ideally need a spatula (wood or rubber) and then when adding the butter or any liquid in to the pan, you need to almost scrape the bottom of the pan quite hard and in circular motions. You should be able to see the residue coming off the bottom of the pan. Once reduced a bit you should be able to run the spatula across the sauce and it’ll leave a trail behind the spatula, showing the sauce has thickened. Hope this helps!!

You did a great job. I go to Johnson & Wales University where I study culinary arts and I’ve always wanted to be apart of one of those cooking competitions you guys do but anyways. When cutting herbs like chives keep the tip of the knife on the board and slice through. This feels better on the wrist and doesn’t bruise the herb. Love your videos
