In this video we deep clean the wheels of our 1991 Mercedes 300SL, or more commonly known as a R129, Typically when dealing with cars in this condition, its a guarantee that the wheel barrels have never been cleaned, and this was definitely the case. They were absolutely caked in brake dust that had made its way through the paint and began pitting the wheels. But all is not lost, we used a number of techniques to remove as much of the debris as possible. We used iron and tar removers, very concentrated all purpose cleaner, clay bars and even sand paper on the barrels. Followed up by a polish, and some tire dressing. They are by no means even close to perfect, but they do look a lot better, and that works for us. Enjoy this satisfying auto detailing video shot in 4K for your viewing pleasure.
