You should do a straight like for like draft/trade. So if Tatum(SF) gets traded for LeBron(SF) then it's just a swap. However if Trae Young (PG) gets traded for Joel Embiid (C), then you swap PGs and Cs to make it even.

Day three of asking: You should do a video where you make a draft class full of rookie lebron's, but the farther into the draft they are, the lower potential they have. 1st overall pick bron would have 99 potential, but 30th pick bron would have 69 potential (no pun intended). Then you have all teams be 40 overalls so you can see which team wins the most championships in 5 years. No trades, no injuries, just simulate.

I did something kind of like this, except the starters were from the all time teams. I put the best players on their final year and simulated the season to see where they would go. Shaq, giannis, and Adrian dantley went to the grizzlies. Hakeem,Luca, and Dr j went to the clippers. wade, pierce, and Lillard went to the bulls. LeBron, Jordan, and Stockton went to the heat. Magic went to the spurs, Nash went to the celtics, AD went to the warriors. Kobe, Ewing, and Rodman went to the nets. Kareem and Malone went to the suns. Dirk, AI, and Melo went to the nuggets. (Lakers lost their entire starting lineup)
