Iceberg bases are pretty good when small. They're far out of the way, and most players wouldn't bother with it. When they're large though, the fact of the base being far out to sea comes back around to bite you, as it makes the chances of counter raiders pretty slim, which leads to it becoming an appealing Satchel raid target.

@@kobaltblueknight you can build foundations at the feet of icebergs and also on the little iceflows. You can always also just dive down and build from seabed up as begrs aren't in very deep water. Can also stick a sneaky vending machine underwater to store some loot

His videos dont even corrospond to his titles anymore. Like.. "i build a fortress on a islake" .. no.. no you did not.. you build a 1x3 triangle base, and you didnt even get a 3rd floor on.. you barely even have a gun.. you are basicly just figthing around a supermarket for 50 minutes straigth.. But it sounds good.. and it makes views.. and views gives him money and sponsors.. its not even a story anymore.. its 1/3 of a story.. every single time..

I started playing the game just a week ago and played as a solo in Reddit Mondays. It was actually kind of a cool experience. I managed to get SARs and Thompsons. I had a main base, a boat base, and a garage with a car. I evicted my rowdy neighbors, ran underwater labs, harbor, and train station. It was really fun albeit damn difficult. I actually started playing Rust because of you, good sir. These vids showed me that Rust can be a relaxing experience.

as a solo I'd play on medium sized servers like 200 pop and I'd always build on iceburgs and have to have little grub bases across the map just like Wilijum did. I had automation and all set up and just as my friends were gonna log on I was raided. Happens several times. People see it driving by with boat doing scrap runs on the water or helis going to rig see it. It looks like it has desirable loot I mean it's an isolated player he's been under the radar this long, but not no more....

Will, main solo here! It's the peak experience. Really loved the servo grubbing part of this ep haha. That WBlvl3 camp... brutal haha. Id like to see you do a serious economic snowball. No one really has before. Server wipe on high pop, rush vending machines in high throughout area (outpost?) and you snowball all major BPs and resources which are usually hard to find from purely economic trading. End is an AK, Autoturret and armored door from trades only, no research unless u get scrap from trades which is ok if it's not farmed from barrels etc. Spreadsheets and eve online brought to rust haha. Spare time is spent setting up farms and more and more trading combos, using others vending machines and in person trades etc. Your in a rush... But with economics. (I'd also like to see your take on a one grid challenge where u can only move in a single grid, cannot farm anything but your first bag outside that grid etc, can include part of a monument, high pop etc... Not a long series for that one just a single ep etc)

I'm currently playing on a PVE server with at most 3-4 people. I've really tried to follow your "vibe" builds now. Instead of building as close to a main monument as possible it's about building in a great area that every now and then makes you go, "Ahhh" or "Look at that view." One day I'll make it to PVP but for now I'm just enjoying the vibes.

Love the vids Willjum. Always fun seeing you trying new ideas and areas on the map. One thing I think would be interesting is if you made a video/series utilizing the ziplines somehow. Jumping down into a pool maybe if that kills the fall damage, or even just using it as a means of traversing the map and taking on more monuments.

Love your content! Would love to see your best attempt at a strategy/base/way to play rust designed specifically to be as close to unraidable offline as possible-- combining bunker(s), hidden loot rooms, decoys, traps, turrets, stashes, etc. Then see how long it can go without being successfully full raided. Ideally on a pretty high pop server and in a location that is pretty active! Could be an interesting challenge

I find the glowing fish rug to be very sweet. The glow is great for subtle night base navigation, it's like an emergency exit sign.

Rust should make more prim monuments like oxoms and mining outposts and even monuments designed around cqc and long range pvp but w/o puzzles, just crate loot. In response to one of my previous comments, rust could also have a build height limit near these moments to deter roofcamping
