My entire journey from my childhood, to “coming out” in small town Ontario, and then coming out again as trans in Toronto and beginning my FTM transition at 60 years old. It's been quite the trip, but here we are!
I’m sharing this for anyone curious about me or thinking about starting their own journey, especially if you think you’re "too old" for it: 👏IT 👏 IS 👏 NEVER 👏 TOO 👏 LATE 👏 TO 👏 TRANSITION 👏
CAMH - Gender Identity Clinic (Toronto) ➭ bit.ly/camhgenderidentityclinic

I'm a 60-year-old Canadian trans man who embarked on my transition journey in April 2020. Let me tell you right off the bat: the path to transitioning in Ontario, Canada hasn't always been a walk in the park. So, I decided to start a channel, talk about my experience, and share what I've learned with you!

I am 60 year Old Transgender man as well. I live in the United States. I have always felt i was different then every one else. I was bullied and felt very isolated and alone all my life. In 2020 I started to explore to own identity. In 2021 I bought a binder and have worn it everyday since. In April 2024 i started on testosterone. I feel much more confident and sure in myself now. I feel like i finally know where i fit in the world. I have come out to my family. I have 3 adult kids and 2 grand kids and they are all very supportive. My name is Kaden and I am transgender.

After seeing this, I know it’s possible. Thank you for uploading this. I see a nice girl at McDonald's thats transitioning. It's so sad to see this happen to her. She looks ridiculous but nobody not even her family tells her. If she was a boy her mom or dad would have told her to shave . But to her the peach fuzz on her face is masculine. Peach fuzz it's not masculine. You can't pick your gender. Somebody should be telling you the truth. Danny is not normal and nobody sane would see her as a man.

@@Batmandabomb In order to get hormone replacement therapy at least two psychologists need to be involved, the studies show that trans people regret their surgeries less then the average person regrets knee replacement surgery. And you're using the same 'just be straight' argument that I'm sure you've heard a million times, and you're just as shitty for doing so. The fact is transgender people are happier and more fulfilled when able to transition. I don't know why you hate trans people so much, is it just because the idea hurts your feelings? You're clearly very emotional about this topic, seeming as you've felt the need to reply to every comment in this section. Being hateful isn't going to stop people from living as themselves, and maybe you need to do some introspection and figure out why this makes you so upset.

Thank You for sharing your journey. I just happened on your video today. I am a 68 year old transman from Edmonton, Alberta. I started my transition with testosterone at age 62, top surgery age 64, changed my gender and name legally age 66. I appreciate your story, mine is fairly similar, coming from a small farming community in Southern Manitoba at the time. I didn't have a name or understanding about the feelings of dysphoria, about feeling different as a child. Unlike some trans people, as a child, I couldn't have said "I am a boy". I was just a person and couldn't relate to the very binary genders at all. I saw they existed, there were boys and girls, women and men, but somehow, I didn't clue in to what I was feeling. I learned to be two different persons. Alone, as a child, I was myself, related to the boy characters I saw on TV, and with people, had to look and behave as a girl. It wasn't until age 52 that I started to understand my feelings, and then research transgender, had counselling, and finally transitioned10 years later. I appreciate your saying that it is never too late to transition.

Fascinating stuff. You really hit on something that has stuck. Several points actually. When you were a child you experienced a traumatizing "non-affirming" teacher. That experience really seemed to impact you. I wonder how you feel about todays environment where it is the opposite. Children are encouraged to explore gender and celebrate being different. The celebration goes to the point that if a child choses a non-confirming pronoun it is celebrated and the child is made to feel special. When other children see what it takes to feel special and seeming please their teacher do you think the extreme affirmation can have the opposite effects to what you experienced as a child? I remember the old gender clinic at CAMH under Dr Zucker. He didn't affirm, but rather took a wait and see approach with children given if you affirm (reinforce) non-conforming we shouldn't be surprised to see it become adopted; the problem becomes where the social transition can lead. In other words is this becoming more of a form of indoctrination,.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ so great to see! Thank you so much for braving the internet I'd like to ask you about starting medical transition after menopause. It seems like some of the concern with the medicine of transitioning is to do with child bearing functions of an afab body, and id like to know any advice you were given, any research you might know of, or how you managed the physical changes after going through menopause? I know this is a big leap to ask about this online, but these are my genuine questions I'd like to learn peer to peer, so if you feel safe or can figure out a way to share any of it you feel comfortable with, I'd appreciate it so so much

My experience with menopause was fairly brief, uneventful and had ran its course by the time I started transitioning at 56. So unfortunately I don’t have a lot to offer in terms of insight. I would Always recommend talking with your Doctor about any concerns. I’m not sure where you are but, if you don’t have a Doctor do a google search for trans services. Even if you discover an agency that doesn’t specifically have the info you’re looking for, they can direct you to one that does. Hope that helps. Thanks for checking me out and please come back 😊

Why can't people just be themselves and not be so concerned and needy of how others see them? Why do you care? This all seems like an internal inferiority issue demanding others see you a certain way. You can't control other people, the way they think or the attention they pay you. Youd be better off concentrating on you, what you want out of life, being a good human being and striving for a comfortable future.

Transitioning is about aleviating mental distress, not about trying to deceive people or wanting attention. If Danny here did nothing and just demanded people call him and see him as a man then that would be wrong and arrogant but instead he put in effort (= transitioned) to present as a man so people don't feel confused. He's not demanding attention, not hurting anyone. He's focusing on living his life as best as he can while you here write nonsense.

Are you concentrating on being a good person? I'm confused by why your posting here if your someone who is apparently so happy with themselves why would you come on the internet, seek out an information video of someone sharing stories for a small subculture of people that clearly have nothing to do with you, why judge? Is it you with inferiority issues, trying to be superior? Trans folks are just being themselves. People share their stories for other LGBTQ people and their families and friends, so understanding grows, and people know they are not alone with their natural feelings. If your not here to learn, what are you doing with your life? Go do something that makes you happy, and let other people be getting on with their own lives.
