Great story. I lived a similar situation in 1997... and alone. No mobile phones, no internet (for most pf people). That makes it challenging :-). I went with a one way ticket to Australia and $1000 of cash. I worked and travelled there during one year and then travelled in Asia. All together 14 months of travel feeling extreme freedom. I did all kinds of work: fruit picking, bar tender, waiter, dish washer, door-to-door sales, telemarketing, cleaner etc. The best experience of my life. However, I can tell you that if you travel alone, you will meet tons of people because you have no choice, even for an introvert like me. Perfect situation to open the mind and embrace what comes. I can only recommend anyone to live something like this. This is easy to do and so valuable!

Nice video! I did something similar too, I learned from this experience that traveling is as much as having a better understanding of the world as knowing yourself better.

Great experience you lived! I recognize a younger me :-D We tried to pursue freedom on the road with our kid...but did not find it...by now ;)

Aw couchsurfing was my thing back in 2013!

At the beginning I was expecting cockroaches but I am glad they were absent 😂 very inspirational and totally relatable. I was very shy and proud for a long time and always liked people in very small doses. But at the end of the day, energy flows where attention goes so if we expect people to be a certain way - they will live up to our expectations. I believed that money was the condition to feel free but freedom is unrelated to external factors. Ultimately safety and security is never outside but always within us when we learn to tap in to it and then can we truly experience freedom. The other thing is that I always use the saying: You can be the juiciest peach alive there are still people who don’t like peaches. Now I need to add: Unless your name is G. 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣
