@Ananya Das XF RN_6 i think they were bought out and shutdown by google. edited bc i remembered it was a different project quietly shutdown by amazon after being bought. Focals was shutdown quietly and google let it taper off shortly before fully shuttering it.

Emily S The same disabilities that would keep you from using a a phone would likely affect your control of the ring. You’d need the glasses to be controlled with your eyes or something along that line.

Very excited for the future. This is still early test for sure they will improve over the time same with the techs before that are lame when it first came out but sooo great now. Look at Android they started out as laggy garbage of an OS at first but now they are getting greater and greater or maybe even better than apple now. I think a better option instead of playing music is taking photos and videos in the smartglass. I think Google make that one before but they remove due to privacy issues. But that would be really awesome feature

I believe that ruins it. I'd make it to where the glasses just have basic things going on. Time, weather, notifications, etc. Anything more than that becomes excessive, and having to bear responsibilities that I don't want. If if get something like this, I want it to stay on my face. Not control, or talk to it out loud to go buy some groceries.

I don't like Alexa. I'd rather have Google Assistant. I'd also like the ability to take the heavy parts off when I'm not going to use them. That, or we should wait until we can miniaturize the technology even more.

Google assistant saves and records everything you say. Yesterday my brother found over 300 files of him asking google to ply music, asking the weather, asking for directions etc.

@@sophiap.743 All of the 'smart assistant' providers do this, google just lets you listen to them and delete stuff from your history. There's nothing private about any of these offerings because they need to use past data for training the AI to respond more intelligently. It's a cost we pay for using them that most people never think about.

FreshBeats that’s not how hacking works. The glasses have to have the required specs to be able to run Netflix and similar things. You would have to modify them.

I ride a motorcycle, so I can see how it would be extremely useful to have these give GPS updates and be able to control the GPS with a ring on my finger, and to get the time, and other things I might not be able to get while riding. It would be amazing to see a specialized GPS feature for these that places a line down the middle of the path you need to take so you dont have to look for things that the gps describes to you.

Rod Munch ummm. $300??? That’s expensive. My mum usually get them for about £90 to £130. And no they aren’t slobs. How are they??? They might just not have a lot of money. There’s a thing called poverty and being bankrupt. Even though they can afford a phone, they might not be able to buy glasses which are a bit pointless...
