I looooove my nyx butter bronzer. For my fair neutral skin tone, the rosy blush/bronzer combos work so well for me, since typical bronzers are too warm/orange on me!

Same! First bronzer I've actually liked. Amazing formula. The only thing I don't like is the shimmer... Mica is the #1 ingredient and they only use the word "glow" in the description on Walmart's site which is not really adequate indication that it's very shimmery. I would buy another if they came out with mattes in these shades and the buttery formula! There's also way too much plastic in the packaging, it's kinda weird how heavy and chunky it is but doesn't make it less awesome of a product.

I bought the two deepest shades of the NYX bronzers (NARS Marquises for reference); the deepest works for bronzing; the other I actually use as a blush. I'd go in store to swatch though 👍🏾

They are really good all-purpose in terms of shades and formula, I use alone or layered for blush and as eyeshadow. Super pretty with mixing medium as a liner. Flatters a lot of eye colors.

Jen Phelps loved that brow pen initially too but then said hers ran out/dried out after a few uses too! So it wasn’t just you! That Colourpop Palette - Looks like the colors in it are pretty similar to what’s in Aurora Struck, and Aurora Struck has an AMAZING formula, so if someone is looking for those colors, that might be a place to look. It has the dark navy, lighter blue, greyish blue, and a lot of the shimmers in the palette look similar to ones in Aurora Struck as well.

I love the Aurora palette too. My daughter is ten and doesn’t wear makeup but sometimes if we’re going out I’ll use that one to put a shimmer on her lids and she loves it.

I’ve been really looking forward to this round up since your last 2 drugstore try ons! I have oily skin and have been using the Covergirl essence for work these days, I find it works best for me when I don’t have a lot of makeup on top of it but rather just a light layer of blush and a tiny bit of concealer.

the nyx butter bronzers were open for testing at my local ulta - they pull much more pink to my eye, especially the lighter shades. but I do recommend testing in store, to make sure (1) you can handle the scent, because it is strong and (2) to get the color you really want!

I have oily leaning combination at times and wear the covergirl on a near everyday basis and I have found less is more underneath the product, but it may also work better for me because I do live in the desert. Maybe in humidity or the like it would slip right off? I personally set it sometimes with kosas cloud set or the ami cole powder and those don't take away too much from the finish, on more oily days. I've been waiting for the nyx bronzers to come into stores around me so I could see them in person because so far the shades seem to pull so differently on everyone but the formula sounds so nice.

Agreed on the NYX newer bronzers, they're gorgeous! I use a slightly darker shade, Butta Biscuit. I also don't see any "glowiness", but they're beautiful and I happen to love the scent.

I just did one last Ulta spring haul order 😂 I did pick up the covergirl foundation so I’m hoping it works out I bought it to use with the new physicians formula bronzing drops for summer, and picked up the essence mascara as well in brown and restocked on my essence powder foundation ❤

I have the cherry shade and the mauve shade of the elf pout clout click pen things, and I never wear liner with it. I love it by itself! It does look like you have liner on though, one time when I was wearing it my friend told me my lips looked really nice and asked for my lip combo. I like the cherry shade more (which I believe is the darkest shade) but mauve is pretty too. I can’t describe the smell either, but it just smells like a sweet makeup product to me

Thank you so much for your kind comment! That's so nice of you! I actually started using the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner a few months ago and I swear it has worked wonders! I was actually dealing with a lot of breakage because I was using a waving curling iron a lot during the winter and it fried my hair but I feel like it's starting to get a lot better. I've also been using the Mielle Rosemary Oil at night once or twice a week and that has helped too!

I’m so happy that you like the lip oil from Essence. I don’t know if you remember that I recommend it to you quite a while ago. I suspect that the issue with the palette from ColourPop is that it’s blue. They have a good formula for a affordable brand, but blue is a difficult colour to formulate just like purple. They made it even more difficult for them self by choosing those undertones and almost leaning towards pastels with some of them. Thank you so much for being detailed with your reviews, it’s really helpful! 💕

Definitely less of a shiny glow and more of a natural glow! I love the elf one but I feel like sometimes it can be a little bit too much for me. NYX is definitely more natural looking and a little less greasy feeling.

My NYX Buttermelt bronzer came shattered as well. But Ulta’s packaging left a lot to be desired. They put a couple items in a very large box and did not pack it well so the bronzer slipped out of its bubble wrap package (not sealed) and just got tossed around the box. Ulta did replace it.

Maybe the NYX Buttermelt just depends on shade, I have the lightest one and it's very rosy and SO shimmery. Mica is listed as the #1 ingredient but the quantity most likely varies. (Mine was not shattered and re-pressed, either.) It goes beyond glowy for me and that's the only thing I didn't like, I thought it would be very subtle. Luckily not orange at all.

Yes Ulta has testers of the NYX bronzers (at least mine did). I never gravitate towards Covergirl for some reason but have been wanting to try the foundation and $12 was a price I was ok with. I have combo skin with very oily T zone (especially the nose!) and I didn’t find that it disappeared on me any more than any other foundation. But I’m also not too fussed about that so maybe it did and I didn’t notice lol I don’t usually check my makeup too closely or touch up but it looked ok at the end of the day.

The it girl brow pen looks like a dupe of the wunderbrow thicker pen that has two sides of a felt tip pen one that super fine and tapered and one that’s a little bit thicker and I’ve had mine for a month now and I won’t use anything else

I didn’t notice a scent but after reading some comments saying the same thing I checked again and I feel like there’s maybe a slight vanilla scent but I don’t notice it once it’s on the lips!

I just bought the essence lash it loud mascara in brown at the Ulta sale after a recommendation from Kelly Gooch. I am NOT fan of the NYX bronzer. I bought it before I saw any reviews because I was so excited to see something new in store, but it’s just way too pigmented for me, and the lightest shade is just not the right color for me. It’s a little too rosy, and still somehow a bit orange. I keep trying, but even with a light hand I have a hard time getting it to look right. I agree with the satin finish though

Jen Phelps says the same about the La girl brow pen. Milani has been the one I’ve used for quite a while now but I find it’s too marker looking and gets leaky ugh. I overtweezed in the 70s and literally have 10 brow hairs. How are the kiddos ❤

I have the elf plump lip pen in the red shade and I dislike it a lot. I was hoping for a similar look to their sheer slick lipsticks (that they discontinued) and its not. Is significantly goopier with worse/streaky pigmentation and the plumping is uncomfortable - I can eat spicy food and deal with that lip pain but these were still stinging like 30 minutes later. It was a waste of money for me.

It's weird bc i love affordable makeup. I purchase quite a bit, yet I almost always reach for my higher end products if I am not trying something new. Idk why. Idk if I'm trying to get my moneys worth? If it's a packaging thing? Or if they really are better. I tend not to keep things good for the price. I want things that are great regardless.

CoverGirl foundation is not meant for oily girls. But I have a hack. So before you apply your primer, go in with a mattifying setting spray. Next put your mattifying primer on. Next apply your mattifying setting spray. Apply your foundation (CoverGirl). Apply your cream blush apply your cream bronzer. Next apply your mattifying setting spray again. Apply your setting powders. Then you guessed it apply your setting spray again. After much trial I have found the milk pore eclipse matte setting spray is the best. The key is larying setting spray between steps of applying make up.

I love the Milani ones when I want a sheer wash of color and a lightweight formula but essence when I want more of a long-lasting hydrating formula. I feel like it stays in place better than Milani but I love that Milani has more shades/fun scents!
