Back again with another make an app but there's a time limit challenge on this one. Yes it's a UI Challenge, I thought I'd film the process for you and add in my managers constructive feedback at the end which might help you when designing stuff yourself, after hours of graphic design, wireframing, moodboarding, User Interfacing, Prototyping and Slideshow-ing, I faced the challenge set by my boss. Watch the video for the result silly.

I really enjoyed watching this video. It felt like a perfect balance between a 'day in the life' and little education. Seeing your thought process during the design, and how actual meetings and work is done was very helpful for those interested in UX to see what it's like to work in a company and how things actually happen. Normally, these details are often not conveyed to students learning in college or through courses. I hope to see more of these types of videos, as videos like this one can still provide valuable glimpses into the design process and other important aspects of working in the field. Keep up the great work!

I would recommend reducing the amount of colour and clutter on the parent section. Make sure all the important content in your app are the main focus. I'm struggling to separate the navigation icons from the background and there are too many shapes or over use of a single shape. Keep things clean. Keep things focused. Your backend developers and your successor as well as future self will thank you for it.

Ok, so if she did the UI, and also in this case the UX design of this app, who does the actual "setup"? The actual nuts and bolts, programming of the app so it becomes live?
@itslilycameron
@itslilycameron Жыл бұрын
It’s not a coded app, it’s a concept design Also programming is not a ux task, in a real project the ux work gets handed to developers to code
@creativestudio101
@creativestudio101 Жыл бұрын
@@itslilycameron Thanks for replying Lily... So the UX designer is the one that also actually codes the app?? I thought the UX designer just designs the "structure/flow" of the app, which I would assume happens at the preliminary stages of the app creation. And then the actual coding would be done by a "programmer/developer" towards the end of process once the UX and UI processes are done. Thanks again!
@itslilycameron
@itslilycameron Жыл бұрын
Yep that’s pretty much it, ux designer doesn’t code anything. They handle structure, design, concept, etc and then the UX work gets handed to developers to follow the instructions and make into a live program

How come you need to come up with the business logic too? Shouldn't the logic be explained to you and you design according to the logic provided? Since not all money app works the same. Kinda confused but good job. At this rate, you might as well be the founder of the app haha. Ui ux designers don't design the business logic; the features and etc. Those are supposed to be given by the founder or the BD team.
@itslilycameron
@itslilycameron Жыл бұрын
Sure that makes sense but this wasn’t for a client it’s just a design challenge. Also I’m technically a product designer which involves more of the product journey than just UI. A big part of UI design concept art is making it look like it’s real and visualising what it could be used for in reality. Having the business concept, logo etc in my head made it easier to design the proof of concept for screens 😊

My guess is that you are not going to be a designer much longer. These mannerisms are exactly why the tech industry had to do some heavy cleaning up, overpaying people who don't really seem to know what they are doing because they heard they can get paid a lot in this field. I would say you are spending too much time making this trendy blog with not enough focus; your head is on the chopping block.
