Not sure if you know, but Discord Bot Maker has mods for actions and events and extensions. Installing that gives you a lot more options.

I feel like the last one is _extremely_ biased. Most stuff was either missing or didnt work and you barely managed to make a bot that _sort of_ did what you wanted to, and was just objectively worse than the other ones. But somehow, the software gets the highest score? Maybe itll be great once all the features get implemented, but you could say the same thing about literally anything. "Oh, you shouldve put discord bot controls at number one, itll be wayy better than all the other ones once it gets improved more". That not how it works, review things as-is not based on the vague promise theyll someday get better. "Oh, its unfair because its a beta" Then... dont review betas? Its fine to include it, but dont review it if its missing key features because its still in beta. Its unfair to just gloss over all the shortcomings and just _assume_ theyll eventually be perfect once the software gets finished. Its fine if you want to promote your friends stuff but then like... just do that. Dont add it to the ranking and give it the highest score when in its current state it clearly doesnt deserve it.

Discord Bot Maker is actually amazing. I literally have 2k hours on it, not even joking, and I've made some pretty crazy stuff with it. I use normal JS now, but DBM is actually amazing.

fr my first bot was on this. im using discord.js now, but that thing is AMAZING, even tho it was lacking some features i needed i was able to create very advanced bots

They're right to tell you to "just learn how to code." Coding itself is a very open and encouraged practice (except for JS, all my homies hate JS) unlike "bot studio maker" apps. More specifically, you're more limited and constrained with "bot studio maker" apps than you are with just writing the code yourself. Alongside that, learning how to code can be beneficial within itself -- you can learn how a machine operates under the hood and can further your understanding of certain elements and design choices of apps.

@@bndlett8752 you can if you want to, for someone who doesn’t care he can freely use a tool, if you really want to use that logic, build ur own OS with ur own compiler with ur own editor, actually nvm go further back, build ur own cpu on ur own built pc from sand with ur own monitor and so on, if you want to do something you are free to do it however you want, learning programming it’s for you not for someone else lmao, dumb ass argument, nobody ain’t right about shaming someone for taking the easy way if the goal is the bot for their discord instead of programming itself.

@@bndlett8752 theyre right, but mostly those guys dont know how to code themselves programmers know hows hard it can be to code, while some random guy on internet says "go learn code lmao its ez dont use the bot maker lol" people use makers mostly because they just want to make a small bot, like, a bot that answers on your messages. they dont want to learn an entire coding language just for making bot answer to user.

If anybody uses some sort of "bot builder software", they aren't a true developer in my eyes. It's just my perspective, if you aren't willing to put in the hard work and would rather find a cheap work-around. Besides, writing code gives you so much more freedom to do more. You're only limited to what you know.

as someone who suffered creating an rng game in discord by using botghost i can tell that its true (not joking) by coding u really have more freedom to do anything u want, but by using some stupid blocks of role condition and chance condition its actually really hard, botghost doesnt let u put decimal numbers so u gotta put a 1% chance to go to another chance condition so you can go to decimal numbers, and i really dont consider my self a developer cuz theres ppl who actually put effort on learning how to code smth and try to saying that ppl who use bot builder software are some actual developer isnt fair

this, imo, extends outside of bot making into other areas. WinForms with a form designer isn't cheating imo, you still have to write code. but WYSIWYG editors definitely do feel like cheating to me.

I would praise DBM program if only the people behind the software aren’t so strict and rude. I once used that program to create something that is impressive but then the support for that program is lacking or worse, just unhelpful support
