Workout skirts, tennis skirts, pickleball skirts-they are becoming a staple in so many activewear wardrobes! In this video, I try all of the most popular skirts on the market, including from the brands Alo Yoga, Lululemon, Halara, Amazon, Old Navy, and more! All of the skirts have built-in short liners with pockets, and we will be testing them all for flow, length, and fit!

honestly, as a tennis player (and former junior pro to boot), i don’t even look in the direction of these “trendy” brands. nike, adidas, tail, yonex, fila, sometimes lululemon or fp movement are the way to go and their skirts are usually quite cute as well on top of being functional. that being said, great review! always a good day when you upload :)

@@herb_rolls if you’re not bothered about looks, yonex, fila, and tail athletics are great. nike, lulu, and sometimes adidas will have cute AND dependable styles - so will wilson, but the pockets wont be able to hold a phone as they’re downwards opening for balls. fp movement can be hit or miss. nike tennis skirts often go on sale or can be found in clearance stores and they have compressive, sweat-wicking, no-front seam undershorts with deep pockets and they tend to be cute so they’re my favorite :)

⁠@@herb_rollsif you don’t care for looks, tail, yonex, and fila are great. if you want cute skirts, nike, wilson (though the pockets won’t be able to store phones and keys as they’re only meant for balls, they open downwards), and sometimes lulu/adidas/fp movement (they can be hit or miss w designs haha) are great. my personal favorites are nike skirts because they often go on sale and are common at clearance stores, they have compressive, sweat wicking, no front seam undershirts with deep pockets, and they tend to be cute! bear in mind that in tennis we tend to prefer the shorter skorts for freedom of movement and don’t mind too much if the undershorts show though (since thats a given haha), so that influences my opinion^

@@herb_rolls of course! if you don't particularly care for looks, tail, yonex, fila, and adidas are pretty reliable. for cute skirts, nike, lulu, and sometimes fp movement are great. my personal favorite is nike -- they tend to go on sale often and they're common at clearance stores, the undershorts are compressive, sweat-wicking, have no front seam, and have deep pockets, and they're cute. in the same vein i'll recommend wilson, but their pockets are only meant to store tennis balls and wont be able to hold anything else. bear in mind in tennis we prefer performance (not brushed) fabrics and shorter skirts for freedom of movement and don't mind too much if the undershorts show when we move, so that influences my opinion as well!

That's so interesting because I don't like the skirts from Nike, Adidas, fila, etc at all and think they have a lot to learn from the other brands. Preferences really vary

Tennis player here. Athleta Ace skorts have been my ride-or-die. My requirement is simple: I don't want to think about my clothing when I'm playing. If the shorts ride up or the waistband needs adjustment after every point, I get annoyed. I've been interested in the Halara skirts because I just tried their 2-in-1 shorts and they didn't budge at all during an intense tennis clinic.

I lied. The old Athleta Bustle skirt was my favorite. The new Ace skirt isn't as good. The waistband runs large and there is no drawstring. That's why I have been looking at other brands.

@@coreyv521 KZfaq. Cassey actually has a pretty long history when it comes to lying on the internet for profit/attention. Whenever another content creator would try to get her to stop sharing misinformation Cassey would get defensive and act like the person was just attacking her then just block them from contacting her. She did a ton of PR stuff before launching PopFlex which is why it never comes up now.

I just moved back to Arizona and realized that active dresses and skirts are gonna be the best way to survive the summer heat, LOL. This review came at the perfect time- I just got a few of the Halara cross-waist skirts in the mail and love them, I think I'll check out the pleated CRZ one next! Great video! I definitely think that while they have interesting designs, the halara and CRZ ones look quite cheap compared to others. The Alo skirt looked great, even though I'm not really a fan of super pleated skirts. For the cheaper ones I think the Old Navy one looked the best, especially for the price. Not a fan of the Popflex ones unfortunately, I don't like the shorts sticking out the bottom and the cuts are not really my style. I have never tried Athleta, but they also did not look to be worth the price and strange fit. I liked the align skirt (I really like that slim cut of the Lulu align one and the old navy) and think they would have looked great one size up so it didn't bunch.

I used to be super bothered by the shorts peaking out thing, but it’s actually grown on me. I like that when i bend over you immediately see shorts because it feel like it makes it seem less…scandalous? (For lack of a better word). Like it takes it from potential-upskirt-moment to nothing-to-see-here-folks if that makes sense.

i love the popflex skorts (i have several!) but their inseam lengths are ALWAYS wrong! on the skirts, i've found them to be longer than advertised (not mad about that), but on the twirl dress *much* shorter, which made it unwearable.

Coincidentally I just bought the Lulu Align skirt yesterday. I’ve historically been a 6 in Aligns but I agree with the comment that they are not as soft as they used to be. The change in softness is not an issue, but I did size up to an 8 in the skirt and it fit better than the 6. Sizing up just helped with waistband height, made the skirt a little less clingy, and prevented the shorts disappearing to a place they didn’t belong :)

I bought a similar skort to the Lulu align one from Bo+Tee, and while I probably wouldn't work out in it, I think it's a super cute/functional option for lifestyle, or going out for drinks with the girls

wow CRZyoga is really going up there in price. I love my Lulu skirts bc they're more lightweight for actual working out, some other brands are cute but thicker in material sidebar I think aloyoga is super overpriced bc they spend most of their money on marketing and not on quality material, if you're gonna spend that much might as well get Lululemon... but I understand some alo designs are "cuter"

I’m 5’8”… I felt like the Athleta was too short for me. I do like the Baleaf skort and the Aerie skort. I will say the medium band in the baleaf was a bit too big. Thank you for the great reviews!

I have so many Athleta items, but the sizing is not consistent. I normally wear a six in sized items, and find that in their other items I wear an S or an M. I LOVE Athleta swim and are pretty consistently a small in that. FWIW, they have a good Memorial Day sale going on now and it seems like both items are on sale. I am happy you are finally trying Baleaf. Someone recommended them to me for biking and now they’re my go to for biking and cold weather hiking. I went on a group hiking trip and it seemed like I was the only one who did not have the hiking pants.

The funny thing is i think the CRZ pleated skirt fits better than the ALO pleated skirt on you. Bonus that it’s more affordable too. I think with ALO is that a lot of celebrities and influencers wear than brand but i would much rather buy BuffBunny if i’m going to shell out coin for higher end athleisure/workout clothes.

I primarily wear Athleta for activewear, since it has always fit me super well and am consistently a small/6. I sometimes have a mile gape in the waist, if it’s not a legging style waistband. I could wear a 4, but then deal with the tight undershorts. So, I just deal with the mild gaping at the waist. I prefer their skirts because of the longer skirt length options.

I am usually an XS in their stuff but their skirts fit odd on me. The waist will be really loose but the legs make me look like a busted can of biscuits. I love their salutation stash bike shorts and do not deal with that at all so it’s weird the skirts do that to me

The tennis ball test IS helpful, thank you! 🙌 It's always a struggle bc I hate shorts that are too compressive but then if they're comfy on my thighs a ball just falls out when I run if I just tuck it under. Kudos to CRZ for the ball pocket! And on the left hand side for righties, nice. Though you may have sold me on that long Halara cross waist. 👀 Thank you for such wonderful reviews!! 🫶

I wish the court rival skirt wasn’t out of stock in basically every size 😭 The SPANX skirt that is 17 inches is the only active skirt that works for me. Everything is SO SHORT

Love your channel, but I feel the opposite. I love numbered sizing. The size 6 in Lululemon fits me perfectly, and smalls are too big and extra smalls are too small.

i feel like alo yoga is the even more successful version of set active. just so-so fabric/design (at best), but becoming super popular because *celebrities* and *expensive* so it becomes a status symbol. not unlike lululemon, except that lll has become so mainstream with mommy bloggers that it's actually losing cache with the millenial/gen z crowd

For Athleta, I find that they’re small leggings are perfect but they’re shorts and skirts are always way too big in the waist in a small, you’re not going crazy 🥰

I feel like lulu and athleta aren’t very curvy girl friendly! Like smaller waist - larger glutes/thighs. I’ve tried several items in both brands and they never fit quite right 🫠
