This is true. His birth mom was so lost in her own despair and desire for vengeance that she couldn’t properly take care of Run Yu as a child. Tai Wei/The Heavenly Emperor was so caught up in his own personal bid for power and control over all of the Realms that he couldn’t and wouldn’t protect Run Yu from Tou Yuo/The Heavenly Empress. Xu Feng was so spoiled by his parents, that he couldn’t and would choose not to see the emotional pain and neglect that Run Yu suffered from growing up. Unfortunately, Run Yu couldn’t see that just because he suffered pain and tragedy, doesn’t mean he has the right to inflict it onto others. I’m glad that Xu Feng and Run Yu made up. I just wish that we could see Xu Feng acknowledge his own blindness to Run Yu’s pain.

@@marysmith4909 I agree with everything you said apart from Xu Feng ignoring the neglect of Run Yu. Xu Feng always treated Run Yu as his biological brother and choose to regularly defend him whenever he was attacked by his mother if he hadn't then Run Yu would have been disowned or outcasted thousands of years ago. Xu Feng was actually the only person that unconditionally loved Run Yu apart from his mother . Run Yu should have noticed that Xu Feng loved him and the person who Run Yu should've held on to was Xu Feng instead of Jin Mi. as the one person who always made sure he was never alone and had always had his back was Xu Feng seen In both the book and the show before they met Jin mi

@@Celestialyeontan Xu Feng only defended Run Yu only so much. There was still a lot Xu Feng turned a blind eye to when it came to Run Yu because he was his father and mother’s favorite.

@@marysmith4909 Xu Feng didn't turn a blind eye to a lot Run Yu the only time Xu Feng wasn't there to back Run Yu was when he was away fighting a war as he is the god of war so the Heavenly Empress would take that as an opportunity to attack Runyu. Even though Xu feng was away fighting a war and had no knowledge of this he would think of Run Yu and bring him back gifts from places he explored while at war as he knew Run yu would mainly stay only in the Heavenly Realm as he had duties as the Night Diety . So to say that Xu Feng ignored the abuse Run Yu suffered is wrong and just incorrect if you watch the show probably you would see this.
