Thank you for always watching.
Do you use corn when fishing?
If so, how do you use it?
In this video, we did carp fishing using a lot of corn and boilies.
Of course, as always, we also catch carp!
There are some slightly challenging parts, but please take a look.

Hi , the hard corn that is not boiled is very hard for the carp to digest and has no appetite for several days or weeks. For this reason most forbid dry corn that is not boiled on their ponds. Instead, boiled corn that is soft or boxed corn such as bonduelle is ok, the carp digests it quite quickly, and his appetite is on for next day 😁

Wow! One of the best underwater video’s I’ve seen. Learned so much from that. Match the hatch is best, and they take the particles from around the edge long before they get to the middle of the pile. I’m a match angler but this really helps me understand how carp behave. It’s given me a few ideas to try out. Thanks a lot for sharing.

When i was a kid 50 years ago i went to the red owl store and bought a can of corn for 10 cents, biked down to the milwaukee river. I pulled out the can opener and lets the juices flow down stream and then tossed about 3 handfuls of corn out..Like ringing the dinner bell those carp came a callin, lol...Memories.

We always put a can of corn on a drop line but only put holes in the can with a old style opener that punched the triangle holes,left the can right before sunset then came back the following morning to remove the can and using the kernels for bait in the same location...we used it for cats AND carp...

Good video. But why not scatter the corn freebies and then use a hook bait with corn or fake single pop up corn as a hook bait. U can see the fish are wary of the orange ball. To the point they clean up area around it. I’ve seen a lot of under water vids where the hook bait looks nothing like the free offerings. And so often the fish know there’s something that doesn’t look right. Surely entice the fish with free stuff but with a camouflaged bait, I wonder would your hooking rate be higher?

Yes, it expands in the carp's gut and they simply die. Soak it for 24 hours, then cook it until it splits, and add a little salt. Very good bait for big fish.

A VERY old wives tale!! Corn does NOT expand in the stomach and kill fish ... it has long been passed through the digestive system before that could possibly happen! Boil corn for 24 hours and it expands virtually zero - just becomes softer - so how long would take to expand by ANY degree in the cold waters ...? YEARS!!

I have caught carp on just light bread (white) , corn, cat food (dry mixed with some water) dough balls, homemade jello dough, a mixture of minute rice, instant grits with ketchup. kinda depends on where your fishing and pond or river/creek.

They obviously comunicate with each other , 2 arrived at first ,tasted it ,swam off and 4 came back, then more arrived , so im seeing how sensitive these fish are and if you can read body language looks like the leader swam across in front of the Orange Ball to tell them to leave it alone. Excellent video, more interesting than British TV. 😂😂

VERY GOOD VIDEO ! To select big carp (over 20 pounds), if you don't have boilies, there is no need to use a different bait, you just need the corn to be baited to be much harder than the sweet corn for bait. Soak agricultural corn for only 24 hours and do not cook it. A big carp has much more power in its pharyngeal teeth than a small one, and its lips are so sensitive that it allows it to make an initial selection of what it can ingest or not. Bait generously as in the video BUT do not place your hard corn on the baiting mat, place it 1 or 2 meters outside, big carp are very wary, they will be more easily tempted by an isolated bait. After which you have to be patient...😉

@@extremefishcrossing was interesting to see their response to a heavy baiting. Going back quite a few years, a small group of us used to test new baits in an out of bounds shallowish bay, a few carp used to pretty much go straight in and start feeding, but most of the carp, mainly commons strangely, would just swim around the outside of the baiting area and just pick up one or two baits then swim off and then come back and do it again

You should really try RANGE CUBES (Cattle Feed) they break down in a short time like 45 minutes. Carp LOVE these large cigar sized pellets and after they have broken down they make a cloud of nutritious particles flowing over thier senses with great results in feed stimulation. Then fishing over the broken down Range Cubes with Maize or boilies , and tiger nuts is deadly. :)

You can see how cautious they are, gentle picking up the bait, seemly to hold it then ejecting. Probably waiting to see if they get hooked, big beds of bait seem to be a warning, they eye it up and skirt around the edges, I am sure they do pick up the bait many times and eject it without the angler ever seeing any indication.

Sweetcorn is like haribo to carp they love it ,try sweetcorn pasties ...get a slice of bread and place your rig and hook bait in the middle of it and then half a handful of tinned sweet corn and fold the bread around it all with wet hands , the bread sticks together and binds it a in a ball containing your rig and bait then drop it in the margin you've been baiting for a few days .....they digest bread and corn very easily and the two combined make for the best not only carp bait but tench barbel and bream love it just as much plus roach . Almost all coarse fish will take bread and corn before anything else ....the old ways are best cheap too .

I dont like or think boilies are a great bait you would be better off throwing a worm or a piece of corn on a hair rig in the center of the chum pile. I fish for carp alot and canned corn is my go to bait. Worms and corn.
@extremefishcrossing
@extremefishcrossing 3 ай бұрын
Thank you for your input and comment. I haven't tried using worms yet, but I'll consider giving them a try someday. Don't you find that using only corn takes too long for the carp to gather?
@covidisevent201

@@extremefishcrossing no, what I have found is carp like to feed in certain areas for some odd reason. If you move 10 feet left or right of that spot they don't feed, i fish the same spots because of this. Once I find a spot they eat I keep going to that spot. You will notice areas were they congregate. I also take the water from the can of corn keeping the lid on and dump all the juice in the water spreading out in the current before I start to chum. My buddy can attest to the spot fishing I told him to try it one day and move down away from a spot I found sure enough I caught 6 in 30 minutes he caught zero. As soon as he moved back he started catching them. They like slack water silty bottom, in the canals for some reason its always under a overhanging tree with no veg growth in the water

@@extremefishcrossing canned sweet corn del monte I think it's called. More expensive but the kernels are firmer and stay on he hook. I cover the entire hook with corn. I don't normally use a hair rig at all. But have used them with success its just not needed.

@@covidisevent201 It's fascinating to search for where carp feed. Once you catch a few in the same spot, they become wary, making it difficult to catch them with the same bait. That's why I change bait every time. Fishing with just corn for years is amazing!
@covidisevent201
@covidisevent201 3 ай бұрын
@@extremefishcrossing yup, years in the same spots. Consistently in the same spots. My buddy thinks they forget or they don't associate the food with the hook. One fish I've caught multiple times over years. Easy to recognize it has one eye. Or they just aren't that smart. I gotta do some videos. By the way loved your video was awesome to see them feed. One of my favorite freshwater fish to go for. Definitely try the worms in the chum pile, better then boilies I'm not a fan of them.

If you had fished with sweetcorn actually on the hook, not popped up, lying in the middle of the free offerings the fish would have taken the hook bait. You don’t have to use popped up hookbait, or boilies, and it doesn’t need to be hair rigged. You can catch carp just as easily fishing basic traditional methods of float fishing, ledgering, or freelined baits - all on the hook, not hairrigged.
