You are supposed to drain the fluid, don't push it up on your neck

Hii! The reason behind it is, we need to start the Gua sha routine by opening up your neck first in the direction of lymph flow. And end the routine by draining the lymph fluid after you have finished your massage on your face. Please refer to the links to the tutorials in the description that I followed. Hope that helps!
