Not too many people know or focused on the part where when the dragonets were talking about escaping through the sky hole, clay had thought in the books- “ Why didn’t I try that?” I was momentarily surprised for I had thought everyone knew this, but I asked a lot of people around and they too thought Clay had tried that before.

You guys, yes, when a dragon reaches 7, their power has fully grown, BUT, according to the NightWings, dragonets aren't considered "dragons" until 10. Even when they DO turn 10 in some tribes, they are still in the "dragonet range"
