As a MUA, the soft glam natural looks are probably harder and time consuming at first because it’s such a specific look but you want it to look effortless, once you master it it’s so simple, so I get the struggle 😭

The Nivea cream is actually a GREAT dupe for La Mer! It has the exact ingredients minus the algae extract.

@HM Seriously?? That's freaking hilarious... and kinda sad too. I truly can't imagine that those algae are such a miracle ingredient (I often read scientific articles about skincare because of my very difficult skin. It's how I found out a way to decrease my use of eczema creams a lot with a simple face mist and oil. But I've never seen anything about algae to have positive skin effects). And to think you can get one of those very simple blue tins that are available in every drugstore in pretty much every country (since my grandmother was born) for a few bucks and pretty much get the same result!

Truth!!! Only German-made Nivea creme, though, for those who live in the States. The one made in Mexico has a different formulation, feel, and the silicone in it makes it no longer behave as a dupe. : D

@@notasandwich19 yes, that is the buzz. It is supposedly only missing the seaweed extract, I believe. I own it and it is definitely different from the American Nivea which is made in Mexico. For one, there is no silicone ingredients. It feels stiffer and richer. It doesn't slip around weirdly like the American one does for me. I really like it. Just be forewarned, it is a HEAVY DUTY moisturizer so you only need to use it sparingly unless you have dry skin. Enjoy!!! :D

Soph, honey, Kim has wrinkles, spots, texture, imperfections, she's human just like the rest of us. If I had a team of people to make me look gorgeous all the time, I'd prob look flawless too. I secretly think it’s hilarious because you just know Kim is having constant mental breakdowns trying to be the one human being who is not subject to time and biology. She never smiles anymore and I have no doubt it’s because she doesn’t want the creases and movement in her skin. Sandra Bullock is the same. And as obsessed with plastic surgery and Botox as Nicole Kidman is, at least she still smiles. But man these women make themselves actively miserable being so obsessed with looks.

Back in college, my chemistry teacher told our class once that la mer cream literally is overpriced nivea cream 😂 apparently the make-up and ingredients of Nivea are VERY similar…funny you picked up on that

She is brave if she's letting him near her face with those claws! They are something else! Also the Kevin Aucoin pot lasts forever! I absolutely love it, it's sticky and thick but it mixes so well with moisturiser or other base products and the tiniest dot is a bulletproof concealer!

You absolutely nailed this look! ❤ just a side note I have used the La Mer cream and the key is use a small amount and you warm it between your hands until it turns translucent then press into your skin. A 15ml jar would literally last a couple of months with that technique as you only need a pea sized amount and this technique apparently activates the “miracle broth” according to the brand. The miracle broth is the algae you mentioned. I hope that helps you to get the full benefits. Love ya soph! ❤

My husband bought me a set Christmas 2020 and I must admit I only use it for when I wear a night out but I still have so much left. I can’t say it blows my mind but I really like it and preps my skin amazing. He also got me the lip balm and it’s £75ish and I’d def repurchase as it’s lasted me ages, I got the Nars and Dior lip balm and it lasted maybe 6 weeks if I’m lucky. Like you I rub it in the palms 10 secs and push it into my skin. As I said, is it my ultimate, nope but it is nice.

LaMer is nothing special. I’ve bought 2 jars and nope. It doesn’t work as good as Zo Skin Health. So it’s more a status symbol instead.

That makeup looks SO GOOD on you. I would ditch the baking, though, mostly because it tends to feel really heavy, drying and uncomfortable for me, but other than that... WOW. The lip color really put it all together. You should wear this often cause it does look lovely.

You look amazing!! I'm going to guess why your eyeliner smudged - it was because you had SOO many cream products on beforehand. The cream in the moisturizers will break down even the toughest all day liners, so it's not your fault. Most makeup artists know that too much moisture can actually cause your makeup to fade quickly, breakdown fast, which is why he had to use so much powder, to help keep it all in place. On a day to day basis, no one needs that much moisture caked on their skin.

I think your execution of the steps/his instructions is what is flawless - I can definitely see someone not as skilled/strong with their techniques struggling with parts of this look (the cut crease, baking without looking crepey, etc). You did a fantastic job! Also really appreciate the non-blurred close-up to show that skin indeed looks skin. :)

Creme de la mer means cream of the sea it has seaweed extract The story I was told A man worked for NASA and was in an accident and got seriously burnt None of the creams he got prescribed helped so he created his own and so Creme de la mer was born Great video 💛💛💛

He didn’t work for NASA, but he was a chemist was burned by chemicals in a lab mishap. The man was crazy though, told people they should eat it and put it in their eyes that it would improve their vision and help them live longer. He was from San Diego too the name is the only thing French about it.

The la mer moisturizer works well when you warm it up in your hands and then apply the vitamin enriched face base works as moisturizer and primer together . Personally I love the Augustinus Bader moisturizer it works as an eye cream serum and moisturizer together and it literally feeds your skin stem cells

A makeup artist friend of mine use to tell me the trick with that concealer is to leave it on the skin for a minute or 2 before blending it out... Cannot for the life of me remember why but she always looked amazing when she used it xx

With thick creams, I find that if I put them on damp skin (just after a shower or using a hydrating mist beforehand etc), they always seem to go a longer way 💚

Don’t beat yourself up, love! Kim is not as perfect and flawless as she may appear sometimes. She has textured skin and her makeup is for camera. Up close it’s quite heavy. Having said that, she does cone off as quite flawless. But remember, you are quite lovely and you are enough. You are beautiful you! Xox

The sensual skin enhancer used to be 18g (I still have the old packaging) but let me tell you… it will last you a long time. It’s SUPER pigmented and thick and creamy. I’ve had it for almost a year and use it every time I do my makeup and haven’t even got to use half of it.

with crème de la mer, you need to warm it up in your fingertips! A little bit really does go a long way with it, just warm between your fingers and then pat into the skin. It shouldn’t go on thick straight from the jar :) this will definitely make it go much further 😅

I just bought the Bobbi Brown vitamin enriched face base, then did some research, and Primark have a dupe! Same container, colour and from the reviews it's quite similar and it's £4.50 x

@@sophdoeslife I work near a smaller Primark and that has very little to offer I terms of Skin care, but the larger one in Manchester hasn't had it either! So blew my budget on the good stuff 😂

I’ve used La Mer for years and it’s worth it. When you Google the guy who made it, he actually made it because he had been in a lab accident where most of his body was burnt. I use it especially when my face gets burnt and it literally clears up overnight! OMG you used way too much!! Lol. You do just need a little bit! Once you warm it up on your fingers it smooths over your face! I have never liked Bobbi Brown. I just don’t like the way it smells or feels.

Rare beauty is definitely my favourite new beauty brand. I have the contour stick, liquid blush and primer and absolutely love them all. Although I have to say I find the blush a bit too pigmented!
