Probably the strongest healer in the game right now. But it doesn't really work well outside of boss content since it needs to consistently be in combat to provide the quickness. Although if your group is quick in fractals and not standing around, you can double use Warhorn skills at the agony resistance buff thingies to provide 'some' quickness in between fights.

I love this build. Its high APM but thats exactly what im looking for in warrior. Its also really nice that I can finally tank/support and dps/support on 1 single warrior. We need more adrenaline generation on staff skills or more staff traitline intergration. Banners still feel aweful to use

The only note i really have is that quickness generation is not tied specifically to Primal Bursts, but Burst skills in general, so it can make the quickness upkeep a little less spammy feeling if you need to prioritize other things. That's about it though

On a bit more serious note - this button spam seems like a common problem with playing the berserker in general, it is high intencity spec cause of its core mechanic, I don't think there is anythin wrong with it, but personally I like to find something a bit more chill.

i'm so happy, loving the nichè healshout since the first year of the game, now it's really performing good and i couldnt be happier. we still need an elite shout to complete the skillset, and maybe a new mainhand weapon to pair with the warhorn [who knows.. maybe in the future?] but it's great

try out Rifle Heal Alac/Quick Chrono! I'm so obsessed with it, and it's so overloaded with so many different possible options

They best way to sum up healzerker is rotational, if you want get into a support role from a DPS berkserker or any DPS build this could be a good bridge. Since you main druid this is probably why this didn't click with you. Because of this I've also seen builds that drop the usually defensive support skill for a more offensive build. Dropping shouts for more rage skills for more adrenaline and berserk upkeep and using martial cadence for stability instead. Fully shifting heals from the utility skills to the staff and taking BoDisapline and Shake it off for when it's required. I've also seen suggestions to switch discipline to defense (1-3-3) example) and use it adrenaline generation.

The only real recommendation I'd have is mace over dagger for secondary weapon set, but that's just me. Definitely looking forward to that healsworn build as a (currently) warrior main already with carpal tunnel, although I'd expect the biggest issue there to be the weapon swap cooldown.

Tried the staff today and I really liked it. It really tells good.

I prefer alacheal bladesworn, with lush forest trait in bladesworn traitline, utility cd become so low that u can used it whenever u need it, plus the way to keep alacrity uptime are much easier in comparison to the way berserker keep quickness up

maybe switching some bits of the harriers for more boon uptime could help turn this into something a bit easier to play?

Random recommendation from some testing I did with friends, if you detour off of the shout plan and make some trait replacements it opens up the build a lot to be WAY more flexible. Shrug It Off swap to Empower Allies and Vigorous Shouts to Phalanx Strength. this allows you to get rid of the heal in favor of the zerk heal for more time in zerk as well as putting For Great Justice into the 'this is a flex slot' bin since both your might and your fury are stable. This change would also allow you to perma zerk if you replace it with outrage.

They only need to buff the quickness up time and have 600 radius like blade sworn and it's going to be great!

yea i reckon that alac baldesworn is much easier as u dont need to use a full flow bar to proc the alacrity. as long as u can use any of the dragon trigger skills. it will proc the alacrity which is quite usefull to know also make sure ya use dragon spike mine as that resets the cooldown for dragon trigger

the bigest issue with war is that anet in their dev streams always when asked what their vision for war is they say they dont have one, as a result war is more or less abandoned or at least in a state where it just always feels cluncky as all heck, its like the elemental meme of ele always eating nerfs, war is in a similar boat, arguably worse because not having a vision for how a class should play means we get "this" some parts are good but others feel out of place its like a clock that has the wrong gears put into it, it works but makes odd poping noises constantly

Back in my days Berserkers were no healers just flaming anger issues! Good to see that they got a bit more ways to have to play now. And I know heal warrior was always a meme but I never thought it would be usable.

The staff feels great, I went for dual mace swap however because the cc is so good. Was funny to play because I went more burst focused and felt like I was just playing the old banner berserker again. Only complaint is outta combat you feel very bad in extended periods, you lose berserk and without headbutt will probably lose quickness for a couple seconds. Just feels bad when you can’t hit anything :P hopefully we might get some new utility to fill those spots you mentioned!

I'm really digging the warrior with the bow staff. My Second FAV is the Necromancer with the Sword/Sword ⚔️ I've tried Reaper I've tried Necro with Minions and a Necromancer Vampire build. Yeah I love stealing health and helping people at the same time.

My easy fix for Banner of Tactics : - Grants 5sec superspeed and 5sec resistance on initial blast. - Grants 2sec stability (3sec with doubled standards) every pulse. This means you get resistance during the superspeed and you get 1-2 stacks of stability (depending on boon duration) when you remain next to the banner. I think that would make a lot more sense. You want the quick burst of resistance and superspeed to move away from danger unhindered (moving away from banner) and you want stability when you hold your grounds (staying near the banner).

If you are looking for more condi cleanse, don't forget that your Banner of Stability is a light field! Throw some Whirl finishers in there.

Muk, can you do more indepth build review/thoughts? This was enjoyable but also really helpful, seeing your thought process on the mechanics

With warriors, F1 and F2 skills should be bound to mouse 4 and mouse 5 buttons respectively and then the carpal tunel thing stops being an actual issue. At least there's way less piano play compared to an ele or engineer specs and to some degree even revenant because you know, someone actually has to keep moving the tablet around too. The main issue with zerk warrior is staff adrenaline, most of the time the adrenaline gain isn't enough to warrant an off cd spam without picking specific adrenaline traits, all of them reducing the healing output. That's where the balance patch should hit imho.

HA! i told you during the beta stream staff felt super fun and only needed some tweeks on staff 3 and to change some numbers but the weapon itself felt super fun! hahahaha

As a warrior main with a druid secondary, I love heal warrior. IMO that big linebreaker heal is offset by that long animation time. So it doesn't work instantly like a druid heal. Spamming primal burst is just a warrior thing on pretty much every warrior elite spec. I'm still hoping they remove weapon-specific's from traits so something like Axe Mastery would affect every weapon. But there's a lot of things on that wish list at least for my main class like everyone else xD Edit: If you don't need a mass rez, try this... Blood Reckoning heal - Your choice of utility (Outrage if you want more berserk uptime). - HeadBUTT elite skill. headbutt to max adrenaline asap. Shake it off will break your stun or outrage will break stun + give zerk time). The blood reckoning will reset your F1 to allow you to F1 heal more often. It's a different kind of gameplay for sure since you're kind of hoping nobody goes down cuz you don't have a banner rez. But you can heal more often, and build up quickness a little more.

i played this in wvw during beta and it felt pretty good there too

Part-time warrior here. Your build is fin as far as I can tell. I'd switch between the stability banner and Aegis barrier depending on the fight. Stability in a pinch is more valuable than regen when it's really needed, I think. The you can pretty much run any weapon main hand to warhorn, just have your warhorn and staff. Dagger is a good choice, because it comes with some handy boonstrip, but I think axe is fine, too. A case could probably be made for mace or sword, though I think mainhand mace is weak for warrior right now-- unless you're tanking, I guess. Monk relic is nice, but I think a 10% bonus to heals might pale in comparison to some of the utilities you might be able to get with other relics when they're applicable. Trooper, for example, has some real huge benefits against slothasaur.

-Your heal build is what everyone is going to be running for the most part. Warrior has access to good tools just not at the same time (and slow to cast :T). Only having one real profession button is very restrictive. Wish warhorn skills got bladesworn alac treatment where a little boon duration makes it last 25+ seconds. -A problem with warrior staff heal is that most of the healing on warrior is on staff. Switching off staff, because you have to for boon uptime, means you can't use your tools on reaction like other professions. That's been a long-standing problem for banners too. Yeah, you pump green numbers on stick, but unless you camp stick it's a tossup of if you'll have it out when you need it. Adrenaline skills don't have enough healing from Soldier's Comfort to make up the healing deficit. Soldier's Comfort can't even be proc'd on command due to spamming F1 every chance you get. -Green stick is a good step for support warrior, but the boons, traits & utilities need updating for builds to be played reactively & comfortably.

Honestly on Berserker you can drop Defense Banner and For Great Justice. Your Primal Burst can upkeep Regen and Fury fine on its own, and you have enough Might generation from Staff and Tactics Traits to upkeep 25 Might stacks without needing FGJ. Not to mention you'll rarely have to be the sole source of might in you group, Boon DPS very often output Might and/or Fury in addition to Quick/Alac.

Good healer, as you shown us, but i don't like the choice options (trait for protection or warhorn buff + condi cleanse shout or stability banner). So i will perfer other heal specs.

staff warrior is my favourite kit so far

I tried now the berserker heal and its quite fun. Much better for me to play then herald heal, which i miss to play but sucks for me now. I have in certain groups with my chrono a much higher clicks per seconds just to keep them alive, but you have an easier boon generation, healing and an overall utility/heal usage even as me being a staff/rifle mesmer instead of zepter/shield/rifle. Currently it seems a lot of new people coming in, many old have gone on a break and the new once find it funny to stay in damage fields, dont know the mechanic or just run into damage fields. My question would be which of the relicts is the best choice Relic of the Monk, Karakosa or Flock? Monk is the most basic and strait forward. And which is the better option for the rune water or monk and are the 125 healing or 10% boon duration the better choice? I dont like the utility slots trade-offs. You have to sacrifice certain things to obtain others which you cant obtain in lesser quantitiy through others like with chrono you have with F1 always 1 stabi, then you have your mantra and a well, so when you actually wanna flex you can press out a full stack of stabi (with continuum - which has its own draw backs and can actually bite you in the butt). At certain occasions I had run out of bersi mode and had to wait to go back in, which reduces the quickness uptime, healing and other boons. Specially with enemies that have imba phases it is quite annoying and with enemies that have high need for stabi you are also at a bad position. You have 1 stabi as far as i have seen with you banner, which is like for great justice always a given. But i would rather take the defence banner over the tactics one even if i lose my only stabi. The other trade-off is the second weapon set. Warhorn is great but you have no good healing one hand weapon that seconds you to heal your group its just dps like the axe for ranger heals before mace. But the druid had his avatar that needed dps to gain access to it. So you have then either use your burst, for great justice or your banner/s. Which got me a few times on the wrong foot. It worked out because of how impressiv staff 3, 5 and 2 is but you are always in a pinch. You have to switch to get the benefits but you also being put in a sitatuion where you are less likely to be useful as a heal, not as worse as it seems to be with the bladesworn but on a same level. Because you still have acces to wornhorn 5 which gives at least barrier when its ready. I tried it on every normal mode strike or fractal and it can keep your group alive, quite easily, when you have someone that gives also boons (mech, herald, firebrand, willbender, ....) you can switch a few skills for an overall better expierence. So i think i stay with Chrono, HScg and Untamed as heal. Berserker will still be always an option for a qheal beside untamed.

I had a same feel about berserker. You need to hit primal burst to keep Q uptime. Sad news is that major part of bosses force you to run out of danger or into save spots. In many of that encounters you spend about half of the time running around. You make like 50% dps compared to ranged dpses and keeping Q on herald is piece of cake compared to berserker. I cant even propose how to balance berserker. You cant just give them x2 dps they would make all other dpses useless in few encounters without running. Warrior has an option to use ranged wearpons but it seemed abonded now, dps is to low to make builds for ranged wearpons...

Adrenaline generation is my only issue with the staff. I love everything about healzerker except the usual warrior jank that is with my class XD. Warrior still needs some polish so instead of helping our class they removed spin to win b/c PvP never learned how to dodge.

Looks great but for me it leaves too much open to error. One interrupt and my entire rotation gets screwed. Isn't there a much "easier" support we can find like with a Spellbreaker or Bladesworn?

High APM is a side effect of playing Berserker. Which is okay with me cuz I love to bonk and if I bonk to heal then I'm happy 🤣 Once you get into the rythym of the button pressing it just becomes mindless button mashing.

For me I took head butt to stay up on berserk mode and blood reckoning also battle standard it's a good way if you're team not knowing the mechanics that's my thoughts actually

use the zerk healing skill so you can double burst and not worry about your quickness uptime as much

Healsworn feels better to me. My only problems with it is the gunsaber doesn't have a purpose other than proccing lush forest, and without warhorn it lacks swiftness. I would like to see them add support to gunsaber via traits. I also think daring dragon should convert charges into aoe barrier.

how do you keep an eye on whether boons are falling off at a glance? do you just keep one eye staring at the boons icons at all times while playing support like this?

I want to see this viable in fractals, but with such limited access to stability it's really a nonstarter. I think they need to buff banners or the tactics traitline.

Is it complex rotation of skill or just a lot of pushing buttons? Wondering as i was considering a support warrior build for staff and looking at options between low intensity or easy to remember but fast buttons.

Shoutbonker I want so badly to be as good as it can be. Will main Shoutbonk Boonhealer once they fix a lot of the issues in APM and make everything smoother. The staff movement shouldn't stay charging for long after the movement it looks buggy.

So now i can heal people "aggressively"?

Is this a good build for someone who has zero experience playing as support in GW2? I was thinking that i might try out a support build. Mostly for low tier fractals and open world events.

What food and utility items did you use?

The first question that comes to mind is why berserker? I don't play Warrior that much, but I mean, spellbreaker is the "well-known" warrior support spec, shouldn't heal and support in general be better with it?

This feels like the first time Warrior got a weapon that actually brought something interesting to the table, unlike Torch/Dagger...

Healsupport is a weird build to design for. You either press buttons all the time, and feel like you aren't reacting to the fight, or you're saving skills for the right moment, which is reliant on you KNOWING the fight, and risks the healer getting bored. I think Warrior staff will get nerfed over time, as the devs have time to analyze what traits Warrior can stand to loose in favor of better group support. Warrior still has no mainhand heal; offhand, there''s warhorn, and as a Spellbreaker with the right trait there's dagger, but that doesn't do boons, so no one cares, and Bladesworn doesn't even get staff burst. Warrior staff at least enables the role, for now, but it's going to take a lot of work fixing Warrior, and I don't know there are any Warrior mains on the design/balance team who has a vision or it.

This is for PVE only. It will not work too well in a Zerg fight for WvW.

same issue as willbender if you are not hitting enemy you not doing shit,ressing power is very low,stunbreak 0,stab very low etc etc.

The fact you have to hit the boss constantly makes it so bad sadly. Why play that when you can healrev with half the apm and easier quickness application, and more utility?

And then there is nerfed thief's axe.... it gives you 0 boons :)
