VIDEO SUMMARY
In this video, I tried selling AI Art , or artwork created by artificial intelligence, by creating an AI Art business on platforms such as Fiverr and Facebook. I try out generators like Stable Diffusion, DALLE 2, Midjourney, and NightCafe. It was a wild adventure filled with surprises and drama!
HOW TO GENERATE AI ART FOR BEGINNERS
1️⃣ Browse Lexica: lexica.art/
To get good at generating AI art, you need to first understand how prompts work. A prompt is what you tell the AI art generator to generate. Lexica is a site like Google that shows AI art and the prompts used to generate them. Super useful to find prompts you can use when generating yourself.
2️⃣ Use NightCafe: creator.nightcafe.studio/?cod...
You can generate AI Art using NightCafe. They offer 5 free credits every day that you can claim. You can buy credits if you run out, or just wait until the next day to claim more.
3️⃣ Install and use Stable Diffusion: • Easy One Click Install...
Installing and running Stable Diffusion on your own computer will give you the most customization and power when generating AI art. You can generate unlimited images, utilize custom models, and features such as Initial Image (img2img).
Running a local version requires a computer with a powerful NVIDIA GPU. If you don't have an NVIDIA GPU, you can still run it with your CPU, but it will be very slow (as shown in my video).
The easiest way to install and use Stable Diffusion is with cmdr2's version. Watch this video ( • Easy One Click Install... ) to learn how to do it. Also, leave a comment and say that Jensen sent you! The video tutorial is really underrated!

Here's my take: As mentioned in the video, AI art isn't perfect, and I don't believe it will replace all artists. It will, however, require artists to adapt and evolve, just like they always have. I believe it will push art forward (like how photo, video and digital art did - which by the way, all co-exist with traditional art). Art is meant to push boundaries and evolve. To accept that AI art will replace artists - would that mean that the art of artists is only an image and nothing more? If artists are that easily replaceable, were they really pushing the boundaries? As an artist myself, I believe real art has always been something more than just the visual. It involves the human storytelling and meaning behind it. That is something an AI cannot create.

Either way it is inevitable that it would eventually be able create beautiful art like Sargent , Leyendecker , Leonardo da Vinci etc without any tweeks required by artists. It's scary but it is inevitable.

For an Artist who likes to draw, this is really disturbing because their no soul, originality, and Pride in it, For those who are not even an Artist it's a business opportunity because they can gain money from it without even doing anything, AI is contradicting the meaning of Art in some way that's why they hate it. , But the ones who going to be affected by this kind of change are the future artist. Artists are born through the performance of professional artist Dancer, Singers, writers, etc. because they got inspired by it, it's the connection between humans to humans and follows their steps. AI is scary because it's literary and can stop this cycle. Imagining this world replaced by AI is kinda not right, but who knows what the future hold.

As a professional artist, I'm not sure whether to be excited or terrified. On one hand it scares me for my ability to get gigs and sustain myself, also in other hand nothing inspires me more to start painting than seeing other impressive work. In my mind, I'm like, "I bet I could try something similar and add my own flavor to it!"

I have a friend, who's an artist. When I first shared the stuff this model made with her, the first thing she went for was "Oi, that's a cool pose, send me this!". So, it definitely helps with inspiration and stuff. In general, the best solution in terms of morality and copyright is to label alk works made solely with NN models as CC0, imo.

Or, since you are an artist with a background in art you already have a leg up on most people. So why not add A.I to your arsenal and make it work for you. No reason you cant combine your current art with ai. This is what i dont understand about Artist instead of calling it not real art, join it and use it. I would love to see what actual artist create with ai.

I think what people fail to realize, is that in all previous examples they give from history AI didn't exist. You can talk about the anti-type writer movement, the lace industry etc etc, but all of that was still firmly in the control of human beings. Now with AI eventually we won't even need a KZfaqr to sell the AI generated art, eventually AI will do it all. We won't even have clever business men profiting off of AI, because AI will even replace the business men. This KZfaq video shows that the most challenging element of this business plan is already being done by the AI; making the art. The business side that the KZfaq us doing is super easy, and AI could probably already do it 100% better than he is doing. Why would AI need money? It wouldn't, unless it wants money for other reasons...

I believe that Ai art will have more negative effects on the art community than positive ones. Will AI completely replace real artists? Probably not, but I can see job opportunities for them decrease in the near future as AI becomes overall better. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if Ai art advances to the point to where it becomes so user friendly that people would rather just do it themselves than pay someone to generate art for them.

New tools create new jobs, that's how it's been forever so... Maybe there's a hit on the artists market soon, but i wouldn't be surprised if in some years the art that is created is something that we now consider masterpieces thanks to people who learn how to use AI as an extra tool to make their art faster, better and get time to study other tools

@@cristobalportilla3138 Nah, it's pretty clear now that AI will be the death of many professional jobs in the art community and has the possibility to soon leak into other art-focused jobs like animation, writing, and music. Right now, AI art generators are less of a tool for most artists and more useful for non-artist imo. We'll have to wait and see the full ramifications of this new technology, but so far it looks grim for artists.

I generated an image using midjourney and I noticed that there were some letters in the sky of the images. I zoomed in and even though the letters were distorted, I could clearly see that it said shutter stock. I then inspected the entire image very closely and found 3 more of them, plus a few other errors. So, if you are selling art, please check the images very well and correct all the errors.

@@BombalurinaAIThere are already lawsuits, also when you "create AI art" there is no copyright so technicaly you can't sell it (Based on other lawsuit when photo was made not by human). That's why non of big companies will use AI art until it will be legally clear to use. The big problem here is that it hits in the beginner artists the most cause there is a big chance that in this video some artist after 2 -3 years of work or study lost thier firs gig.

I am business minded- in the sense that I have a lot of incentives and ideas into selling my own art prints in the future. But I also respect the process it takes into creating a highly detailed work of art by hand. Maybe it would be interesting to have AI art as a side-option to sell for a really low price, but fully-hand drawn works of value with their own style will always be far more lucrative - especially now that AI art is flooding the internet. If you have both skills, you'll always be ahead of people who can only generate AI images. Those folks just become one-trick ponies when it comes to creativity. Also, you have to consider the community aspect that is against AI images (reflected on the facebook ad Jensen threw up). There are people who will outright reject and go after you and try to demolish your reputation just because you do only AI - and if there's one group you don't want to piss off online is artists. And you know, that is just alright. We need to have a balance when it comes to new technology, and yes, we do need to be concerned about a lot of jobs (and cultural value) that can potentially be lost due to it. AI image generators may be great for quantity, but what is the point when a bunch of other people will get fucked over and overall product quality of AI images is vastly inferior to pro artists who draw by hand (With most results looking either generic, or heavily distorted in terms of anatomy)? Also, there is already a lawsuit toward OpenAI in the works about ripping off coders on Github that is tied to all of this. And it's the first of many that will come given that the concept art community is also coming together due to many of their artworks being taken without consent by these AI companies benefiting from legal loopholes. And also, I have to disagree about your point on AI 'creativity' working just like human creativity. In the end, AI can't create anything new and innovative like a human being with their own story and life experience. It takes a couple of weeks going through the Midjourney chats to realize how everything starts to look the same, then hopping onto Artstation and noticing a gigantic difference. Again, I am business-minded too, but I can't ignore the artist in me that is concerned about going to fast with this technology. If we just take advantage from it and completely neglect the community, man it is not going to be good in the long run for artists & the culture in general, and you can't expect people to just go along with the flow when their livelihoods are being threatened by the machine.

@@Alexandraadftxr7052 I just gave a whole break down about all my concerns regarding what AI will do to artist's jobs, and how I would still draw and paint by hand even if I were to sell my own AI generated images. Plus, if it were up to me, I wouldn't want to just sell somebody a generation without some heavy input from my own drawing skills. I need to make it my own somehow. All this considered, I don't think I'm out there to ruin artist's lives myself being someone who has drawn, painted, created films and animations and written stories since I was 4. I just want to adapt to this technology in the most ethical way possible while being torn about its uses at the same time.

@@Alexandraadftxr7052 It's ok Alexandra, I understand and, in part, share your frustration so no offense taken. Just remember a lot of us are in the same team and will continue to draw and paint regardless of where this technology goes. Painting on caves was our first expression of art as humans, and I don't think that is going to end any time soon. There will always be a place for hand-made, hand-drawn art, and in fact that may just gain much more value when the AI imagery trend passes. If people can do both, great - but if people just depend on AI image generators to create, they'll only limit themselves in the long run, and they will be outclassed by any artist that both knows how to draw, paint, use photoshop and use AI to their advantage. It's important to adopt this technology ethically as a tool, but never as a replacement.

I'm glad you spent more time than it was worth. There's hope for real artists. Not sure how I feel about all this. I realise it's inevitable, and understand both sides, but it makes me sad. Change is coming. It's always going to hurt people that dedicated their lives to the craft. I see niche artists in the future only releasing their work to galleries and hiding it from the internet with strict security so it cannot be captured digitally to be replicated by AI. PS: This whole video takes me back to the days where t-shirt websites sprung up everywhere and channels selling you on the idea you could make huge money in it popped up, only to be a total waste of time because the world and his dog were all doing it, and all the hours you spent on t-shirt designs were there just to be copied by others.

The one way to satisfy both is for AI developers to ask for consent of artists to use their works in training dataset and must add digital signature to clearly state that something is generated by AI.

The only people that should have access to styles are people that can draw those styles themselves or if given explicit permission by the artist. The public domain offers more than enough and I'm sure artists would have voluntarily offered up some of their works. But the ways it's being handled is akin to plagiarism and identity theft in the art industry.

Should the only people of have access to a basketball have to ask permission from an NBA athlete? Is it ok for a random to charge someone for basketball lessons that they saw an NBA player doing? What if a little leaguer is mimicking the way a professional baseball player throws a curve ball? And if he figures it out and decides to sell his knowledge should he have to pay royalties to that professional he copied. Humans copy, borrow, take inspiration all the time. Why are you so offended if a computer program does it? Did Andy Worhol pay Campbell's Soup royalties for the canned soup he took "inspiration" from? Did he credit the artist or graphic designer that designed that can of soup after he just blatantly painted the whole thing?

@@Steve-tk6xv There is a difference between taking the time to practice and learn something vs having an AI copy and paste peoples work to put them out of a job. Anybody can draw, you just need to buy the tools - just like anyone can play basketball, they just need a ball. If you can recreate a professional artists style that demonstrates true talent and dedication, if you have an AI do it using other peoples work who've taken the time to learn said skill but you're too lazy and opportunistic that's called plagiarism. Even a little research into Andy Warhol would show that he turned away from those methods and almost got into massive trouble. (Campbell considered suing but liked the publicity. He was later sued by photographer Patricia Caufield for using a shot she took of Marilyn Monroe) Besides which, AI art is still far from being transformative to any degree. It is simply a more sophisticated way of copying others work without it looking like plagiarism. It even tries to copy artists signatures often, so please, don't give me this bs.

@@redwolfmedia2281 That's not what the AI is doing at all... It collects data and creates a generalised data set that looks nothing like any of the pictures - it creates multiple "layers" of these generalised data. Imagine a dog in your head. That's a generalised image that was created in your mind from all the data collected. It's similar but AI does it in more "efficient" way thus creates much thinner layers. Although there is a very strong evidence that this is what we do subconsciously as well.

That's where you're mistaken. AI art is like any unique piece of art, the only difference is that it takes seconds to get generated instead of a human spending hours of work making it. Artists who nowadays spend enormous amount of time and energy could simply use this amazing tool to improve their workflow. Of course, using the traditional methods give you 100% of freedom to drawn as exact and precise as you want your art. Using AI to help you making KZfaq thumbnails, for example, it's an excellent idea!

@@thecommentator9181 Yes, it is a tool, and an amazing tool btw! AI doesn't mean to take any merit of any artist, what artists do with they art is represent an emotion/feeling/ideia through their work, and the AIs nowadays can do this, you just need to type the right description and improve it, so any visual flaws can be erased. What artists are afraid of is because they maybe think they're too much special, that only the human brain have the capacity to create such visuals out of scratch (I thought the same back in the time), but AIs nowadays are proving the opposite. The artists, as human beings IN FLASH AND BONE, are not special, what makes us special it's our imagination/creativity that only WE HAVE. And if an artificial intelligence proves it can do this kinda work, there's no arguments when there's facts.

A person spends many years to learn their craft in order to become pro and then someone comes and does the same in 5 minutes with next to no skill. Tell me how would you feel then??? Imagine people who are getting into art now... They will just give up. Or the world will be flooded with mostly AI art with all the associated problems I am too depressed to list.

It is not that someone comes and steals your work. We as humans pushed AI into this without regulations. When typewriter was introduced to society many people who copies books manuelly became jobless unless you learnt the new typewriter machine. It is not exactly the same example but technology and gears always defined and redefined our way of making living. Now art field is shaping too although art is an abstract field. Very popular artists exploited their art to make millions of dollars and now some non creative people using this new tool to craft computer made art to make a living is okay by me. Yes, traditional artists put hundreds of hours to get the skill so what? Life is always unfair.

There are a million other things that has happened to and nobody cared. Why do you care now? Fast clothing made by machines wiped out millions of seamstresses & cobblers. Updated phone switchboards put out millions of switchboard operators. Light bulbs eliminated candle makers. Bc of cars we no longer needed horses or carriages so horse breeders and carriage makers were put out of business. Calculators eliminated the need for "Human" calculators. Data spreadsheets displaced millions of accountants and bookkeepers. Every bank has handful of tellers because ATMs exist before that banks had to have 2-3 times that amount. Online Language translators eliminated the need for translators in most situations. Woodworking and furniture making is nearly non-existent bc of companies like IKEA.

Btw I am an artist and I am caring about the future of all the artists. With new technology, new ai we could solve so many problems. But instead the techcompy developed an ai to replace artists. So they exploing the artists and make profit of it. And no its not a tool, a tool would help the artists and not replacing him completely. Artists don’t have problems doing their work. Only the companies have a problem with „paying the artist“. But go on and support big techcompanies so they can make more billions of dollars and some day they will replace you too, but hey why should we care about you, there are other problems.

For future reference, if you wanted to do this again, there's an option to created a sharable link for Stable Diffusion on another PC. I generate stuff at work all the time on my work laptop through a bookmarked URL and it uses my home GPU to do all the processing.

Wow, can this be "outsourced" to a newer Mac (M1) as well? I was able to install a thing called DiffusionBee, that supposedly uses the latest SD model through the Mac's GPU...but it's still very mediocre results, compared to Midjourney.

I am taking the AI art idea and running with it. I simply see this as tool to help detail up my own art and give myself more creative ideas. Ill be taking some very old sketches, rendering them as AI, picking the best fit, and painting it myself! I believe there is still hope for the starving artists out there who don't just make this their hobby. I feel this really could be another tool to promote hand-made art!

Believe it or not but using ai art can create bizarre and totally unique and realistic pieces that are 100% true to creator using ai gen or what other tools to aid in that aspect

Dude, artists aren't mad at ai beacause it's "stolen" or we are too old. AI Art it's mostly easy to get acceptable results. You just need the idea. What counts in art it's execution as well. That's why we don't really like AI users who consider themselves artists. Unless you're using it as a tool for a big project, it isn't art. That's just how it works

This thing in it's current implementation is 100% illegal, since it's being fed copyright protected art and duplicating it. Refer to The Berne Convention : "adopted in 1886, deals with the protection of works and the rights of their authors. It provides creators such as authors, musicians, poets, painters etc. with the means to control how their works are used, by whom, and on what terms."

By the way it clearly had made a real hard copy of copyright material for learning. Even if it deletes it later and then uses it only as a part of one big generated model.

Additionally, piracy is tracked through IPs/downloads which is not the case of a local user generating. Without a download component/some connection, it would be near impossible to prove

They should. For instance there are people for the past few years, usually foreigners coming into the 1970s celica group, posting terrible Toyota Celica shirts with mixed era stuff on it. Like they have the 90s Toyota (T) on them when that has nothing to do with 70s Toyotas really. They just look bad, and these aren't even A.I. as far as I know they're just people trying to get money or every dollar that they can by selling cheap T shirts to car fans.

I get it, but hear me out as a person who uses Midjourney and just started an Instagram page for my AI Arts. First, I never lie about me making the arts by myself, i always add that "this art is AI generated" for example. For me, Midjourney AI is making my dreams come true. I always wanted to be someone who can express himself thru art, i compose music, but my drawings and paintings are awful, i have a condition which makes my writing unreadable aswell. Now, I can easily "create" and express myself thru Art by giving detailed prompts and choosing the one which is the closest to what i imagined. Banning something like AI art kills freedom, while arts or designs made by humans will always be more original and will always worth more.

As an artist, it’s not right to replace art careers and jobs with AI art that anyone can generate on the internet and make money. There’s so much to art than AI art. The reason why artists make art is because it conveys emotion, self expression and allows artists to get creative or artistic. AI Art can’t do something all artists can do is convey emotion or self expression in our art because that’s how I feel the same about art too, and same with music. I’m making my art my career but I am still deciding if I want to continue doing art because I don’t want to hear so many negative things people say about doing art as career or job when there is a career or job. Art is more than a career and job it’s an art and we artists convey emotion through art, and it takes hours to complete a painting or drawing we put a lot of hard work, effort, and time into it. This is why non-artists should aim to understand than underestimating artists, and we deserve better.

As a son of two artist with one who have made it on a international level and the other on national level I just want to say that I am not afraid and think it's a nother process you can use to make art. Making good art is all about breaking or addressing some type of boundary that activates the viewer. That is why Jack Pollock is seen as art. It wasn't done before and broke boundary of what can be seen as art. I am currently managing an art project funded by the country and have been blown away with the lose of quality in art in the region that I am working at. Everyone started calling them selves artists who can make something visually nice, that has been done over and over again. Saying all that since the digital revolution, we have been more focused on the production side of things since that is used in design a lot. Like how a portrait can be considered art but nothing new. Art is about a type of expression that leaves a impression. That is why I loved the concept of the cover art for the music guy and consider it art. The music is based on emotions mixed in with life. I have never done the drugs he probably was on, but it left a impression that was based on someone's impression. Now that impression is based on a digital model where it depends on the data set. Is that art idk, is it vage, hell yeah! But does it open up a world of possibilities, yeah... So iam all for it and not afraid, it's a great way in adding up the quality of art, since it's allows people use it as inspiration or even a production piece. The mindset has been used in art categories like, Pop art, DaDa and more. Now you are a real artist where you make something new that can be considered it's own categorie. Also art is not the same as design even though it can overlap. Ps: if there is a spelling error or gramma error, that is life.

As a voice actor, I get where these artists are coming from. AI voiceovers have become wildly popular and it's a bit of a worrying trend to us in the voiceover industry. But at the end of the day, most of us realize that most people will always want a human to do a voiceover because there are certain nuances in the real human voice that AI voiceovers just can't capture---well yet, anyway. We'll see where it all ends up.

Im glad i could do this too. As an unfamous artist. I can definitely do the same as ai but not as quick. Its the idea, being creative. If you cant overcome ai and challenge it, at least be creative from it instead of copying art from basic ideas like a red square in a shadow body chest. A great idea is to make the square glow red so it represents a beating heart. Thats what an AI would do n you would get mad and get fired bc your art ideas arent creative enough.

That's not true. Someone undercharging for their work does not make your work worth less. If somebody's doing commissions in exchange for pocket change they'll either raise their price or close commissions indefinitely. You need to actually have some skills as an illustrator or artist though tbh. Atleast basic photoshop skills. Some requests can get so specific that you will have a hard time with JUST AI otherwise. But very interesting

I agree, what if you get a request and the customer wants a certain picture created with different poses.. how do you get the AI to do that? it just creates new images I don't think it can take the same image but do variations in regards to angles.. I guess that is where advancements in AI art generators comes in as well as prompt professionals that know the language to get it do that..

@@wesley6442 it can. you can feed it parts of the image and ask to change stuff. or just draw basic shapes you want yourself and ask AI to enhance it with img2img. there is a lot of stuff, that can work super great for concept artists. but most people only focus on the 'text propmt' side of ai art

I played around with an AI art program last night. I been wanting to build a diorama scene for a little while now, but not knowing even where to begin or how to picture it coming together intimidated me from even attempting it. After a quite obscure prompt, and actually having fun with it, I ended up with one I really liked and I'll be using that as the basis for my first diorama. I just hope it won't be a disaster.

There are limits to what AI can do. But it's improving day by day. Mankind must value the skills and talents that we possess. We create new realms and new disciplines with what we can imagine. AI learns from that but can only replicate it poorly. If mankind stops creating, AI will only be able to rehash what was created before. But that may not be bad if we hanker for the good old days. 🤷♂️

They aren't worried about losing their job to an AI. Their worried about their art being used as a template. Because that's how AI art is created. People don't want their styles that they've worked so hard to refine to be loaded into a database and then pulled from without their consent. I'm all for tech, I'm not for people finding their art style on some for sale website. If they do want to provide art for AI to pull from, it should be an opt in process, not an opt out.

As an experienced Traditional medium artist and digital 3d modeler. there is a huge difference between someone just spamming lazy cheap ai art and a true artist spending hours defining prompts and image training and refining AI art. I personally believe prompt writing is an art form in of itself. I love creating Ai Art for Inspiration and new styles. I see no issue with someone selling their Original Ai Art as it is just a new Medium for artists to explore

This is very true but the thing is why would someone pay $400 when they can get it for free......... I know I know it really hurts to say this.... the majority doesn't even care about authenticity anymore they just want it to look good, cheap and they want it fast... but they can only get two with human artists Unfortunately AI photo generation can do all three if not more...

I think Ai art gives everyone the opportunity to use their imagination and ideas and also to be creative. The way i see it, it will be beneficial in time for manual artists because their work will increase in value if ai art becomes more common. The same happened with a lot of traditional things for ex: making kimonos. (an automatically made kimono is around 15$ while manual ones are over 700$ the least). It is a shame that people think it would be doomsday when history has shown that with new technology, the value of the manual one increases.

Problem is, why would anyone buy a $700 Kimono if you can get the exact one for only $15 by a machine. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand your point, Iam a graphic designer myself and I'm bothered by all this AI trend as well. It's like all the time you spent studying went for nothing, when anyone who has a computer can now just type what they want and it's all done automatically efortlessly for them... That's actually what its all about. AI just makes everything more accessible for more people which is kinda gonna push the limits now. Everyone will be able to great art pieces now, but the PRO's will always have the upper hand which leads to alot of improvements and better art will still exist. Only now it's gonna take even more effort to be better than others. You can see improvements all around us, look at agriculture for example. People back in the day had to manually plant seeds and stuff, now you got a machine for everything to do it in a fraction of time... I could write an essay on so many examples but the point is, that technology is gonna evolve us for the better.

@@NoiseFr3ak because they appreciate quality. :) anyone will be able to have Ai stuff but not everyone will be able to have craftsmanship art. The expensive kimono is bought by rich people etc. There is also the colored bricks or glass from Morraco which is the same case also. I think it is more of a change of public in a way. There are more examples out there of simmilar cases. There is a KZfaq channel, something with "so expensive".

Getty images actually tried to sue Dall-E for using their images as inspiration, and it was deemed that "A.I generated images are not protected under any copyright laws, and cannot be copyrighted using current methods" So for now it is safe, but I am sure with the rise of the use of it, laws will be changing.

The comments thread is very interesting for me. I always loved drawing, and 30+ years later I am still drawing/painting a lot and constantly improving my skills, and for me it is nice to know that as long as I live and be able, I will continue to have this. I do this for myself, to relax, stay grounded and curious, and to pay attention. When having the opportunity to play with AI I found that sometimes it made some compositions and lighting scenes very interesting but it is still very limited in ideas and you can almost always tell is AI art, you need to constantly feed it, is not reliable. However, it did opened my eyes on how he compiled compositions and made me think my drawings slightly differently. The Ai improved my traditional skills. That being said, I am positive that it won't be able to match them and even if someday it could, art is more than making money for the artist is something he must do, like eating. Making money from art is like a wonderful bonus. For someone who wants to sell a book that he wrote in a month just for cash, an AI for the cover will be enough. A person who put his blood and tears into writing a book for all the good reasons, will search for something with more meaning for the cover. This is why I am not scared that artists jobs will disappear, probably they will adapt, play upon AI strengths, get even better, or make other things as well. I agree though that AI should be regulated somehow in order not to learn from copyright material without permission- this would make it learn a bit slower and society will have time to understand it's ramifications properly.

@@benjaminRhodesLEGO I still don't see how people would be lining up in a museum to see Ai art gallery shows, because even if it can generate wonderful pixels, it cannot generate an experience of self discovery as meaningful. People are craving genuine human interaction even if they can interact with Ai, they crave to see the ocean even if they have a perfectly depicted wall of monitors with the ocean and sound waves at home. And the movie in studio Ghibli style is in a style made by artists, we still need artists to generate unique styles for the AI to be able to copy and reiterate. We still acknowledge and search for the beauty and quality of craftsmanship versus a mass produced perfectly uniform item.

@@je6a478 at one point artists should learn to encrypt their data and there will be no new information for the bot to be inspired from, making it's environment limited to it's initial input and a (quite big) number of combinations ( if I understand the concept correctly)

I’m an artist and I have been using AI as a tool but not the final result then I take my art knowledge and photoshop and do the rest. It’s been going well and I feel like AI can’t get things absolutely perfect so artists will still be needed with the correct skill sets to be able to adapt.

I don’t know anything about this stuff but, as a painter myself, what is your opinion about my making master copies of well known paintings? I have primarily done this for learning and inspiration. In 2020 I painted a large master copy of Sergeant’s “Street in Venice,” a work by him that I have always admired and loved. At the end of painting the copy, I decided to change the female in the center of the painting to a female nurse with a mask on. I thought the image was a perfect way for me to represent the heroism of healthcare workers during the peak of the pandemic crisis. So far I have refused to sell the painting mostly because I haven’t wanted to part with it. While the setting of the painting is Sergeant’s Venice, the meaning of the painting is entirely different even though it is painted with Sargent’s technique as closely as I could achieve. Now, I’m thinking that AI art might be an excellent tool for artists much in same way that moving pictures at the end of the 19th Century was a tool for Picasso’s and Braque’s invention of cubism while most painters of that day saw film as a threat. Thoughts?

Waht exactly is free to use under this account to sell either online as digital product or print and sell physical product? Can a pre-made template be used as a product to sell? What is the minimum requirement of changes made to existing template to make it kosher for sale? I have seen many videos on canva however they all seem to confuse me more about what I can take from canva free account and sell as a product. Please give a complete comprehensive information on the subject... waiting for your video on this thanks 😊

I've used these AI programs. It's really hard and time consuming to get what you want. Many requests are outright impossible to get. As you could see in this video, you also need editing skills to fix things.

Yup it’s not as easy as everyone thinks it is which is why you can tell the artists that are complaining have never actually used one 😂 if you want to do something generic it’s easy but if you want to put your own style and get exactly what you want it takes time. I’ve spent hours just on one image before.

@@tigerpaws111 I'm an artist and I've written paragraphs and taken also a lot of time to describe what i wanted ,it's never as i envisioned in my head and frankly I neither feel bad or appreciate your "hours" that go into an image because i and every other artist have spent years of our lives practicing and hating their work and having to get better in order to produce the art we want to see in the world to feed the stupid program or database so lozers can generate their ideas- I have piles of sketchbooks of my trash art and I have to practice a lot more to get where I want so yeah, tl;dr wahhh i have to type words

It’s ok if you can recognize it yet, humans probably get updated recognition processing abilities over the course of time as human intelligence evolves. There was a point where AI did not recognize human generated pics as art either. Don’t feel bad. ;)

I can tell you that stable diffusion gets some of its art from Getty images. I had created a text prompt that resulted in a piece of AI art that had the Getty Images logo down on the lower right side. You could clearly see the logo it was recognizable.

It doesn't "get" art as far as retreival, but it generates it based on it's training. 1.5 was trained basically on the whole internet, including stock photo sites and Art station etc. Then the same way a person learns what a stock photo(or a cat) looks like, the AI learns, and applies a watermark like it has seen in similar work. 2.0+ had much of this material removed but there's nothing to prevent anyone from training a diffusion model. It's now even being done with music, with Riffusion. Protip: if you just want to avoid watermarks you can use negative prompts to exclude those and presto!

@@maxcurrent485 Thanks for explaining how that logo could appear. Makes sense. "Dumb" AI replicated everything including non-subject markings. I checked out the AI music generator. Still just awful. There's no substitute for a human mind that has millions of years of emotional understanding behind it. AI will never be a Ryo Kawasaki.

@@basspig I don't know. Like I said you could train it, and I'm afraid that theoretically this stuff will be 10x this good in just a few years. So with ChatGPT you might finetune it to an artists' interviews and description of his work. Then have it come up with original ideas, and after training a model on an artists' work, then you can basically outdo them by feeding that ChatGPT prompt into Stable Diffusion. But training it on living artists' work is considered a no-no unless they're work is considered public domain. Already I have had a bot in Discord generate 300 images per hour for weeks on end. Thousands. Randomized prompts. Too many to go through. Now I can do 600 with the same GPU, but there's no point without some way to go through it or people that want to vote on it or something.

@@basspig That's the same as saying most art itself has no practical value. I think it wouldn't be a thing if that were true. It's wrong to assume that say, protest songs and sculptures etc. have no practical value, or that they wouldn't if they created by a robot and then re-touched by a person or something. Historically art has had massive impacts on society. I think perhaps you mistake AI art for AI generated graphics, but even that has practical value as game and ad companies etc. and consumers by extension pay billions for this stuff annually. Art is more than aesthetics. When I do a NFT of Jeff Bezos and make it a pass to a gallery with corporate CEOs and draw attention to their predatory activity, that has value if even one person changes how they behave or look at the world as a result. If it makes people laugh, that has value. If one person appreciates the fruit of my creativity, my work had value regardless of the tools I used to build it. All art has value to those that appreciate it. Whether it was made with a violin, or a synthesizer, composed via scripted means, or random noise, when it's music to someone's ears, then it has value.

If it’s only a slight difference then it falls under a derivative work, which falls under copyright. However ai art is not a derivative work as it creates whole new and different images from the images it has been trained on which is transformative and doesn’t fall under copyright

You are right that at first the marketplace will be filled with generic crap, but why not consider the possibility that AI art might eventually become BETTER than man made art? Yes, BETTER! Then we will be so spoiled since all art will be flawless and eventually we will run out of things to be amazed about, since everything would always be perfect. A Hell in a Heaven.

That's wrong if you compare digital art with AI because if you are a digital artist you still need to learn the anatomy, perspective, figure drawing and what not... I think this analogy makes sense. Digital art makes the process of creating art easier (by offering features like easy editing) but you still need art knowledge (anatomy, perspective, figure drawing) to get something compelling. AI images are not art. Art is the manifestation of soul and will. These are just images obtained by code. Code has no will nor soul. The only art in these AI is the code itself written by the programmers. But even then, it's just really bad taste art. But even more important than that, the fun part of art is the process. If this shit becomes standard for any reason, then life becomes meaningless, boring, purposeless. People will turn into stupid entities that type numbers on a text field in order to "see what the computer gives in return" and in a few decades humanity will have lost it's soul. Think what would happen if this happend to music or writing, which are other forms of art. Humans will just become useful idiots.

And you're right, it is an ideal option for lazy people who like to pretend they're artists. Artist have provided resources to learn how to draw for years, but some people just can't really learn. So yes it is ideal.
