You can use the cheat engine speedhack feature to speed up games, not for speedruns necessarily, but just to make them more enjoyable, or to speed through unskippable cutscenes.

I have the flash version of this game downloaded and often play it while watching TV. I had to reset the calendar on the computer so it would run flash games still. I prefer to get to the end with my base 100% intact. Start with a clubman and two slingers. As they're walking I upgrade clubman attack and armor. Then one attack for the slingers and two range. If you have 270 gold remaining you did it right. They get most of the way across before the meteorites hit. Then I do 1-3 clubman-slingers. Two waves of this and I can upgrade slinger attack. Once I do I go 1-2 to save money and to prolong their time on the field. If they get across too quick the turrets destroy them. If they send out two big dinos, then I drop the meteorites on them. It just about pays for itself in XP and gives me tons of gold for this level. I usually get armor. When my guys die, I generally wait until the exact moment before sending out more troops. I want there to be a million enemies on the screen and right at my door so my guys can do the most damage before the turrets at the end kill them. Upgrade to Spartan as soon as possible. Avoid Egypt. Their support can't hit targets right in front of them. When the enemy goes Egypt, I send troops out a little early so their support doesn't get a lucky hit on my base, over the 4 guys defending. 17,000 XP gets you from Spartan to Medieval. Do it. By now I've most likely upgraded the support all the way and the infantry all the way except for the final attack. I don't need it. I don't want my infantry moving too fast or they won't kill as many bad guys. I love the Medieval Age because infantry moves so very slow. You end up killing a zillion of them. You want them to be near death as they approach the enemy turrets. After I rack up about 5000 GP in the Medieval Age, I upgrade the anti-armor attack twice, and the armor attack and armor one each. That's for later in the Future Age, but I might as well do it now. I never upgrade anti-armor armor because they will never use it. You'll see. Up until now I'm only using infantry and support. 21,000 XP gets you from Medieval to Modern Age. I skip the Renaissance Age because it's not much of an upgrade and the support attacks slower. If the enemy just started Renaissance Age, then he's sending out support. I can generally waste them with one modern infantry. When he starts sending out cannons and/or knights, I send out two infantry. I don't send out support in the Modern Age because it's too fast killing enemies. You gain efficiency but lose effectiveness. You're kill per unit goes down as soon as you hit the turrets, and you don't want to accidentally destroy their base. Game's not over. Timing gets critical when the enemy upgrades to Modern Age. It's getting serious now. You pretty much have to send out two infantry at a time against that. One isn't enough. Eventually he sends out the bomber and carpet bombs the field. If you have two healthy infantry, they're probably at half strength now. The enemy is also starting to send tanks at you. Let those two infantry die. When the tank gets close enough (super long range) do these three actions in quick succession: Send out two fresh infantry. Upgrade to Future Age Send out two armored units. Because of the timing, You will have destroyed the enemy in the Future Age, and the enemy will still be in the Modern Age with no special attack left. He's toast. You can vary this by allowing the enemy to get to the Future Age and waste his special attack and I think he might generate one God's Wrath. Weather the attack and destroy the GW. You could even stretch this out to install maximum turrets and get every upgrade imaginable. I think the enemy only ever generates one GW and only sends one special attack. (back to the game) You just entered the Future Age and sent out two armored units. While the armored units are spawning, click on the expensive upgrade that allows the super weapon, God's Wrath. *IF* the armored units are sufficiently advanced across the field, generate two God's Wrath. Otherwise they might get out of order. You want to end up with 2 armored, followed by 2 God's Wrath, followed by 2 anti-armor, followed by 2 support. GW counts as 2, so this is the full 10 units. If you got plenty of GP upgrade the anti-armor attack now (mad scientist). It's now maxed out. Don't spend anything upgrading its armor. They're standing behind 2 God's Wrath. Nothing will ever shoot them. Not a chance. The infantry in the Future Age is nearly useless because he's way too fast and has no range. Just a spider guy with a sword. Looks cool, but not effective. So what you want here is the God's Wrath (very slow movers) to catch up to the armor. That usually happens around 2/3 the way across the field. Right about there, upgrade the armored attack one more. Speed things up a bit. While they're approaching the enemy base, the first armored unit will die. Upgrade armored attack all the way and generate another support. Might as well. When the second armored unit dies, activate the special attack. Sometimes you get lucky and the enemy spawns a unit just in time to get lasered. Both GW's are at full health, and the anti-armor and support units behind them have enough range to keep shooting at whatever's in the way. By the time the first GW is at the enemy base, their turrets will be really laying into it. These things have no range, but do considerable damage. Each shot does about 1000 damage to the base. Meanwhile, the other units behind are still firing. Effectively each shot from the GW does more like 1500 damage. The base won't last more than a few seconds. The health bar deteriorates fast. Game over. You won.

It wasn't titled age of war 3 (because of legal reasons I think), but army of ages, and yes the surprise at the start was hilarious. It played a bit differently, instead of building units with cash, you built buildings (with cash) that continously create units. The buildings could also be upgraded (more damage, more health, more speed, faster unit creation, although you had a cap of 30 units), but if I recall correctly, upon every new era, you have to build new buildings and the buildings were refunded, but the upgrades were not. So I usually just bought buildings in the first 3 eras and upgraded the speed and creation of the gold gatherers, only in the last two eras did I actually upgrade the other units. Turrets in this one were placed on the field instead of your base and could be destroyed, so I didn't use them that often I think.
