I've been gluten-free since my celiac disease diagnosis over 4 years ago, so I know what it's like to miss out on delicious foods. When I heard that the new gluten-free Oreos were coming out, I had to try them! Here is my honest review of the newest addition to the Oreo family: Gluten-Free Double Stuf Cookies.
In this video, I give my first impressions and honest review-I had very high expectations for these cookies! I briefly talk about the anticipation of the cookies after the announcement in 2020, the cost of the gluten-free Oreo, the gluten-free certification, other reviews, and then taste-test the cookies.

I am so happy they made these. They taste like regular Oreos. But I don't have the headaches, stomach aches, extreme tired feeling

Just got my celiac disease diagnosis 5 days ago after over a decade of suffering. Tried these yesterday and nearly cried they were so good! It's been a rough transition, but these are making it a little easier.

My daughter and I waited for the Oreo cookies to hit out market since the announcement and were more than pleased with the cookies! Just like you, we had no idea our last original Oreo classic cookie would be our last until Nabiso introduced the new GF version. I can honestly say that your review brought tears to my eyes. Not being able to eat a cookie from childhood was so sad. However, it wasn’t the end of the world not being able to eat the original cookie, BUT it was super nice to eat a great GF version of the classic cookie.

TBH, I agree with you. I (celiac) found some bread that was SO good...but all my gluten-eater friends tell me the bread is not good. ...now I remember why it isn't good. 😅

What do you think about Cheerios? Understand they use a mechanical sorting machine to separate wheat grain from oat grain, seeing they still use the same shipping containers for both grains at different times. Now I've hear they sample at regular intervals during a production run, but combine all the sample into one and then measure the amount of gluten. And try the mint gluten free oreos. I love them just out of the freezer.

My gluten-eating husband and I wonder what horrid chemicals they put in ALL Oreos so that the gluten ones and gluten-free ones taste the same. Haha. I hadn't eaten an Oreo in 25 years, and yup, still knew they smelled/tasted just like Oreos. :)

I only recently started having serious trouble with gluten, and when I found these at our aldi I WAS STOKED!! And then BOOM they took them away as fast as they came, I hope I can find some at walmart!

I had to go GF a while back when I was on an elimination diet and have been advised to go GF due to inflammatory issues I'm having, so getting back into it. I remember when I saw these in the store, I almost started crying bc I felt so deprived of everything at the time (was on low fodmap diet) & they actually tasted so good!

Bought these for my husband. I tried one and the only difference I could tell was that the cookie had a slight more intense chocolate flavor.

No way! That's the cheapest I've heard so far. That's great! 😄 I honestly haven't gone out searching for them since I now have so many bags of Double Stuf... haha! I pre-ordered them thinking they wouldn't come to Canada for MONTHS, but joke's on me-they were popping up all over the country before I even received mine. Next time, I'll just be patient. 🙈

On sale! $6.50 regular. I have yet to open them. I want to record it. I convinced my spouse last night to do it with me (very camera shy 🤭 - he said yes!!!) So now I wait for us to have time to record, and hope he doesn't swear too much LOL!

Oh my gosh! Just looked them up and YES! AND they're only $5.47. 😍 I actually saw them for the first time "in the wild" at my local No Frills and had to buy them just because. I made another batch of mint Oreo ice cream with them this week. I'm so glad they are getting easier to find. 🤤

They are $8.99 here at Sobeys and Safeway here in Winnipeg. Won't pay that much but I will check Walmart.

While all my research indicates to me that these Oreos are celiac safe but the oats not reading as gf on the ingredient label worries me. ...okay... ...but I have been eating Glutino Double Stuffed Chocolate Sandwich Cookies for years. I am gonna have to double-blind taste test Glutino and Oreo cookies and see which I like better.

I found them to be identical in taste but theres a slight difference in the cream. its slighty waxy or pastey. which is wierd because I would have thought the gluten is in the cookies so thats what should have been different.

They are super good, but I've had a reaction from these twice now. Last night I had a few and I've had BLINDING pain in my stomach all night and into today. I've only been a diagnosed celiac for about a year and a half, so I'm no expert. But these have definitely caused me bad nights.

I was totally elated when they came out, I can’t tell the difference between gf and regular, I gave some friends some, by saying, someone gave me these but I can’t eat them, they know why I can’t eat them but I didn’t tell them they were gf. They ate them in front of me, and said they hadn’t had an Oreo in awhile, it tasted good. Then I told them it was gf, bulging eyes 👀 staring at me, then they said that they couldn’t tell they were gf lol

Yes! Well, I don't think the double stuf ones are yet, but the original ones are! I don't think they have made their way into every store yet, but I've seen people posting about them popping up all over the country. 😊

Sucks that so many gluten free options for sweets like this almost always contain soy.. being someone who is allergic to gluten, soy, most nuts, potato’s, etc.. not fun to say the least

Hey Tristan! Thanks for sharing. 😊 Great point-I definitely feel for those that have additional food allergies. Thankfully, some of the Oreo alternatives are safe for those with extra restrictions, but they don't always cover all allergies. (I just double checked, and I see what you mean: both the Glutino and Kinnikinnick "Oreos" contain potato. 😞) It must be tough to not get to join in on the excitement. Just throwing this out there, if you are interested in baking, I'd be happy to help you learn to bake with your additional restrictions! I don't bake with blends or mixes, so it's easy to modify recipes. If you're interested in this, feel free to send me an email at robyn@glutenfreebakingcourses.com. I realize not everyone likes baking, or maybe you already have a system that works for you, so no pressure. 😄

Glutino Oreos? I think the kind I buy, Double Stuffed Chocolate Sandwich Cookie does not contain soy? (Maybe soy lecithin) There is another one that isn't double stuffed...I think that one has soy.

I saw these and totally thought it was not high on the priority list compared to flour, yeast, cereal, etc. Then, after 2 weeks, I realised that was a mistake. I was so stressed I spent 3$ on a small box of an organic brand that, when I looked at the ingredients, was essentially the same as the Oreos. The only benefit to the smaller box is that they are certified organic as well. But the Oreos are twice the number of cookies. Do I get fewer organic cookies or more non-organic? Oh, that's right, the 3$ was the sale price. Okay, next time, it's the Oreos!

I definitely recommend trying them at least once! 😊 I feel like most packaged treats are going to have some not-so-healthy ingredients, organic or not. Everything in moderation is my motto! Haha 💁‍♀️

@@robynsglutenfreeliving They have been bought and tried! Found a sale for 2.99 if I bought two so I got the normal and double stuffed. I think I like the double stuffed a bit better. It actually seemed like a normal amount and the 'regular' was just skimpy on the filling. They were...Oreos. Which I was so happy about. Those organic ones didn't taste bad but dissolved in a weird way. I was so happy to have a childhood favourite that I can mow down on when I need a candy (for stress management, you know). My mom was laughing but happy for me.

Steak and kidney pie, cornish pasties, stone baked pizza and BEER. That's what I want. And Robyn, what do give us ... Oreos.... gluten free bloody Oreos. There's only one place for them, the bin. And by the way they're biscuits, not cookies.😅😅

LOL SORRY ROD-noted! 😂😂😂 I made pumpkin pasties on the weekend with my pastry crust and have made savory pies… I’ll add these to the list. I’m hoping to find some gluten-free Stout this weekend to make a savory pie. All that said, I made some mint Oreo ice cream with the new Oreos which was amazing. But you seem like more of a savory guy! 😂🍗

Yes!! 😍 I think I'm even more excited about the KD than the Oreos... It's been sitting in the shipping box waiting until I can get a chance to make that video, but it's getting hard to resist trying it. If it's the real deal, I think we need to start a petition to bring it to Canada.... 😄
