Khalid, The best biryani I had in UAE is at Al Saad Restaurant in Ras Al Khaimah. They have something called Matka Biryani and it's the greatest biryani I ever had. You should try it someday. 🙂

The 1st lady selling biryani for 3 dirhams are blessing for the humanity. Some people might not understand how hard life a worker has when he has low income and have to support himself and family back at home for them these places are not less than a blessings and how much prayers you get from those needy people. @@rajeshkannan4154 nope you are wrong. Iran has no native rice cultivation so its kinda impossible that biryani comes from iran. The truth is, what existed in Iran was a seasoned fried meatpiece rolled in Iranian flatbread , this dish was called beryan. You can search " Ishafahani Beryan", its still popular in Iran but has negligible resemblance to our biryani. The truth is that elements and cooking methods of this irani beryan mixed with an ancient indian rice dish during the medieval eras to form Biryani

I must say Khalid, the moment I realised the last biryani was going to be a mother’s hand cooked one with all her love put into it, brought tears to my eyes. There is truly no human emotion more powerful than the parents’ love for their children, specially a mother’s. Thank you for ending the video in such a beautiful way. Lmao Biryani was invented in Iran. It had a Persian name "Birinj biriyan" and then it made its way to India through traders. It is well documented by historians.

Well, Yemeni Biryani comes from Indian. When the Brits occupied South Yemen (South Arabia) in the port city of Aden, they brought the Indians from Hyder Abbad. The East India company in 1839. And since then, we learned from them, and we made our own version of Biryani called Zurbian mixed with meat or chicken and has coloured rice (yellow/red/white). The South Yemeni flat bread is called Khobz and looks like the Indian Tandoori Parather (only on a large scale). Our flat bread is big. Our Chatney and Ashar (pickle lime) is out of this world. Oh not forgetting Samboosa, Bajiya, Khameer and much more. Our Sweets (Halwa) has the Indian ones as well as the traditional South Yemeni one. Plus we do Aseed which is wheat (look up Aseed) عصيده I love my South Arabian food but then am Biased

So very true! A Biryani is all about family's love, the commercial ones are made by chefs who do it as a job, but the home made Biryani on Yaum Jumu'a, Eid, family get togethers is all about family. In around 1988 I was once invited for Iftar at one of our workmates in Dubai. The family were from Kerela, South India and they put up a beautiful table for us with so many different dishes. And, the center dish was the Biryani, it was one of the best I ever had.

I don’t know if you know this, but in the 80s, pak liyari had the same biryani in a little shop in one of the alleys behind naïf road. At that time they would only serve biryani, not even salad. They served the biryani with green chillies only. There used to be a line outside their little shop on Friday after jumah. By the 2010s they had more food items and had expanded, but we’re still in Naif. I’m so happy to see that they are thriving. That really is amazing biryani. I don’t know if you have tried Daily restaurant (outside karama) but their biryani and Bihari kabab is also a must try (if they are still around)
