I got the Alienware 3423dwf the other week.... OLED monitors are freaking insane. If you can stretch budget for one, do it. I've had 7 different monitors in the past 2 yrs, from a 4k Acer predator to a 360hz 24' Asus ROG.... OLED blows everything out the water. Well worth the investment

I’m playing on a 360hz monitor atm and feel like it’s too small. I thought 1080p would a good match since I use a rtx 3070, but I think I can still run 1440p pretty well. I have a 48” C1 in my bedroom for the ps5 and now considering the Alienware after hearing your feedback. Was it a noticeable drop from 360hz to 165hz?
@billpaxton1345
@billpaxton1345 Жыл бұрын
@@EndoV2 the jump to 1440 from 1080 far outweighs the benefit of a 3.7ms difference between 360hz and 165hz. And just the overall brightness/contrast of an OLED panel is nuts. I have a 3080ti so i get it almost maxed out at 162 fps average in modern warfare 2. I really think a 3070 would have little to no problem pushing 90+ fps in most games at 1440. If your budget can stretch it try it out. If you buy from dell direct they have a 90 return, but I really think ud be surprised

I don't think 4k ultrawides exist or even they do it would cost too much and will be hard to run games on it even with a 4090. So I think going for a 1440p ultrawide panel is actually the reasonable move here.

I currently roll with a LG 40WP95C-W as my main with a ppi of 140-it is awesome for productivity as an engineer. I’m currently testing LG’s 45GR95QE-B OLED as a second monitor with a ppi of 80. It is an awesome gaming monitor but not suitable for coding, reverse engineering, running Windows [CMD] or Linux commands on the fly. I’m torn if I should keep the OLED monitor and use it exclusively for gaming or return it. It is an expensive gaming monitor but I'm 85% confident, I will keep the OLED for gaming-esp. since D4 is coming out…

I wish someone would do a reveiw abuot the monitor that codes or works with data. I'm not a hardcore gamer, more of a casual when I have time but I was really interested in the monitor for the 21:9 aspect ratio since I work with Excel and Google Sheets alot and the 45" beats having two 34" monitors.

I just picked one up today from best buy i was using my lg cx 65in oled tv which works great but wanted a new monitor. I also have a Alienware 3440x1440 120hz gsync display and a 32in lg 144hz 1440p display. But my system with a 3080ti was fine with the Alienware but I’ve built 2 systems since then a 7950X3d & 4090 and a 7800x3d & nitro 7900xtx both pushing past 120hz and 144hz on both my monitors. Im know the pixel density is not as good as a 4k display but I’m fine with the resolution. Also grabbed the 4 year extended warranty when you pay this much for a monitor i like not having to worry about it breaking but so far my lg tv has been awesome and I cant go back from oled now it just looks so good.

I'm torn between this and a 42 inch. I'm legally blind so I'm hoping the larger monitor allows me to scale text larger without content getting squished together and also hope it allows me to sit further back into my chair when playing games instead of being c shapped at desk. I've noticed on high resolution monitors text is much smaller so I'm not sure about a 4k 42inch. I'll probably have it scaled up using windows scaling to 150% or 175%. A 42 inch paired with a dual up from lg have the same height so they'd look sharp on a desk together but I think text would look much larger without having to crank the scaling as high on the lg45. Not all apps handle windows dpi scaling properly. Plus the curve would bring the edges closer to my face.

I think the C2 Oled would be a good match for you. That's what I'm running for work and play and since it's 4k (unlike this monitor), you can scale it pretty large and still have good definition. It's also half the price.
@TillTheLightTakesUs
@TillTheLightTakesUs Жыл бұрын
So.. I got a question. I play single player games. Is C2 more for me or this? OR G3? I may splurge for G3 if it's gonna be better than C2 or this one. The only thing stopping me from buying this is the oled lifespan. Since this isn't too brighter than C2, I feel like I'm buying an expensive C2 with the C2's expected lifespan. G3 and G series in general have 5 yr warranty which also means longer oled life.

The problem is with the 4090 there is no CPU on the market right now fast enough to push that 4090 at 1440 P you’ll get the same result with a 4080 with a 13 900 K Aetna better at 1440 P to 4090 bottlenecks. Any resolution under 4K

I got a 4080 a few months ago after watching some tech videos showing the bottle necking of the the 4090 was causing some issues… it’s nice to hear someone with a 4090 post similar results… I imagine next generations cpu and monitors are going to be a better fit for the 4090 and whenever display port 2.0 is released. I am going to Best Buy to look at this monitor in person tonight. I’m currently hooked to a oled Bravia tv which is great but the input lag could be a lot better.

I would buy this monitor and use it exclusively for gaming purposes, streaming videos, and watching movies in a home office. I would not buy this monitor for productivity purposes that deal with reading---low ppi but awesome for gaming. I bought this monitor at $2k when it was originally released, now this monitor is selling for $1400k. I use this monitor for entertainment and use my LG 40WP95C-W as my main with a ppi of 140-it is awesome for productivity as an engineer.

Reading text isn’t the best but you use it for games or movies, what it’s designed for.. it’s brilliant and amazing. Haven’t had mine a week yet and I’m loving it. My 4070ti is also pushing it perfectly. You’re able to look past that rough text after the 1st time using it.

Retina is nothing but a marketing term used by Apple. It simply describes a display with a high resolution relative to screen size. What a display has to offer to be called "Retina" is anyone's guess but the marketing geniuses at Apple. The Perfect Gaming Monitor is a Micro-LED or Crystal-LED Display, maybe slightly curved at at around 40 inches with 240Hz IMO, these things are 10 years away though
@theloniousMac
@theloniousMac Жыл бұрын
@@OTNaugrim well junior, when you use one of Apple’s retina displays, you see what they mean. The text is so sharp it’s hard to go to the typical gaming monitor or crap resolution monitor afterwards. The text on most monitors looks blurry afterward. Retina refers to a high-resolution display technology used in their devices, including iPhones, iPads, and MacBook laptops. The term "retina" refers to the human eye's inability to distinguish individual pixels on a display when viewed from a normal viewing distance. The idea is that if a display has a high enough pixel density, the human eye won't be able to see the individual pixels, creating a smoother and more detailed image. Apple's retina displays typically have a pixel density of at least 300 pixels per inch (PPI), which is higher than the average display. This allows for sharper text, more vibrant colors, and finer details in images and videos. Apple achieves this high pixel density by packing more pixels into the same physical space on the display, resulting in a smoother and more visually pleasing experience for the user. Now see how much easier it is to just say retina?

From what I read this gaming monitor only has 84ppi. So using it for coding and massive spreadsheets and things will be annoying. If you’re accustomed to retina level ppi, you’re going to think you need reading glasses all of a sudden. I, like the creator of the video, dream of having a combined high ppi/OLED monitor with all those great gaming features. A 45” curved OLED at 300ppi is going to be at least $5000. Probably why no one makes one. The gaming community would laugh at the price.

Da fuck, a 3440x1440 45"panel? Man, I had a 34" 3440x1440 in 2016 and that felt too pixelated for me. (I don't care about PPI, I know people like to use it as a metric but I always found it irrelevant) This thing needs to be 5120x2160 before I'd consider and gloss. I had a 38" 3840x1600 a few years ago and I feel like we need an OLED panel like this. Still loving my 42" C2, so vibrant without the stupid matte coating. *Gloss is Boss!*
