Little hint colorwise: when you bake pink and white dough it looks the same from the outside (brown) but from the inside one is white and one is pink. You can even see that on the original cake. Just a suggestion re: whisk-hit your dry whisk on a table edge. Does it vibrate a lot? If it does it’s a good whisk. If it doesn’t, it’s too stiff and won’t mix as well.
